We had our wedding at Blenheim and had a great experience. Wonderful venue for a small wedding. Staff was wonderful. Grounds were immaculate. Price was reasonable. Would recommend!
Non-Traditional Wedding Venue
My daughter and her fiance wanted an informal wedding at a non-wedding type of venue. Both animal lovers, their first choice was an animal sanctuary ...
but unfortunately, there are none in Northern VA.
After visiting many venues, they decided upon Historic Blenheim which is a perfect venue if you are looking for something unusual and intimate. Union soldiers were encamped at Blenheim during the Civil War. The rich history of the time has been preserved in the Interpretive Center.
The wedding ceremony was held outside amidst a bucolic backdrop of trees and greenery. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages were served in the lobby, and a buffet luncheon was held in the multi-purpose room which can seat @70 people, 10/table. It was the perfect size for our group of 55 guests.
We paid an additional nominal fee for our guests to take an optional guided tour with a Blenheim rep. To our surprise, @25 guests participated, during which time some of the tables/chairs were moved out of the multi-purpose room to free up space for dancing.
The Parks & Recreation staff responded to my emails within 1 - 2 days. One Blenheim rep was assigned to us on the day of, and we were fortunate to get Mark who was the rep we met with and liked almost a year prior. During the 9 months of planning, Brianne was extremely instrumental in helping us find a caterer (see my review of Purple Onion Catering), Kaveh met us at Blenheim on several occasions to have a walk-thru with prospective caterers, Courtnee helped my daughter with the sound system, Andrea arranged the tour, and Karen was the tour guide. All Blenheim staff members were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and quick to respond.
If you are looking for an intimate venue in a natural setting, that also happens to be rich in history, check out Historic Blenheim!
