About this vendor
Historic Greer Depot's story began more than a century ago. Constructed in 1913, Charles Christian Hook of Charlotte, North Carolina, designed the depot as a combination passenger station and freight warehouse for the Piedmont & Northern Railway, later used by the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, Seaboard System Railroad and finally CSX Transportation, before facing potential demolition in 1984.
Saved from the wrecking ball by Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, it was finally sold to Station One Partnership in 1987 and redeveloped as retail and office space. Fast forward to 2017... Letchworth Properties, LLC, purchased the Historic Greer Depot with the hope of fully restoring it to its original grandeur.
The Historic Greer Depot now serves as the General and Administrative offices of Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation and its' subsidiaries, hosts a boutique beer and wine store, as well as the new Historic Greer Depot, LLC. With the conversion of the former warehouse space now complete, there's a new Event Venue and Meeting Space onsite!
The indoor event space is comprised of a 3,600 sq. ft. main room for your event, including modern ADA-accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen. In addition, a 900 sq. ft. outdoor rose garden is also available for meetings, cocktails functions, elopements, bridal portraits and more!
Historic Greer Depot is nestled in the heart of the Greer Station Historic District at 300 Randall Street, Greer, SC 29651. It is convenient to both Greenville (17 miles) and Spartanburg (18 miles), and only minutes away from GSP International Airport (5 miles). The venue is convenient to lodging, restaurants and retail outlets throughout the Historic District.
Historic Greer Depot is the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, meetings, parties, or just about any social event you can think of... and is the only authentic railroad depot available in South Carolina as an event venue. Historic Greer Depot is also a member of the Upstate Bridal Association. A collection of superior Upstate wedding professionals who adhere to the organization's ideals and standards.
When looking for a historic venue to make memories that will last a lifetime, look no further than Historic Greer Depot!

Greer Depot
I cannot recommend the Greer Depot events venue enough. From start to finish the venue manager Joni was such a pleasure to work with, with us every step of the way. She was super responsive, available to answer questions and help with vendor suggestions. Throughout the process I knew I could depend on Joni. She truly cares about her clients, the success of their events and about the Depot itself. Her care shows in everything she does.
The Depot is a lovely, classic venue, versatile for many different styles and functions. They have a list of vendors they’ve worked with but they’re very flexible in allowing you to bring in any (properly insured) vendor. We were able to save a bit of money by hiring a pro bartender but supplying all our own alcohol.
My husband Tim and I were married on Saturday, October 12th. It was about a week after Helene hit the area. Joni reached out to us preemptively to let us know the Greer Depot was still operational and to relieve any fears we may have. Unfortunately, our ceremony venue was damaged and closed for the year. Joni immediately offered to host the ceremony as well and without charging anything extra!! I found out later the Depot also welcomed a few last-minute brides who were in a jam and without a venue due to the hurricane. The Depot really stepped up for people.
The day of our event Joni went above and beyond! The team set up all our décor, including some items which they’ve never done before, to absolute perfection. Everything was exactly as I had envisioned it. I didn’t know until later, that afternoon some belligerent woman intentionally hit Joni with her car. It’s standard practice that the Depot blocks off parking spots during the day right in front of the entrance to the Depot so vendors can load/unload and the event host can park if needed. Even with all of that our event went off without a hitch! I can’t imagine the level of entitlement that person felt.
The following day we went to pick up the décor and items left behind from the reception. Everything was organized, boxed and ready to load out. Most venues won’t touch your stuff at the end of your event. The Depot goes above and beyond at every turn to take care of people. I will always look to them for hosting events and recommend them to everyone!
In the end everything was absolutely perfect, even better than I had envisioned it and I couldn’t have been happier. I thank Joni and her team for making our special day even more special.
