Historic Waverly Mansion is a charming early 18th Century home, built circa 1756, which sits on four pristine acres and includes a barn (exterior use only), gated garden, patio, and seasonal tent in Marriottsville, MD. It is the sole surviving property of Maryland’s only father/son governors: Colonel John Eager Howard (the County's namesake) and George Howard. Owned by Howard County Government, it is rented as a wedding and special events venue.
During peak rental season (April – October), our gorgeous 40’ X 60’ tent can host 125 guests with a dance floor (not included). The patio and first floor of the manor are ADA-compliant. The interior of the manor can accommodate 50 guests between the dining room and parlor on the first floor. There are three restrooms inside the manor and a restroom trailer on the property which includes an ADA-compliant stall.
Looking to host your wedding or special event at the mansion? While, the event tent is removed in November, the home is available exclusively to rent for indoor events from November - March. oy the ceremony and our guests! The grounds, tent, and mansion looked beautiful, there was plenty of delicious food and drink, the staff was courteous and responsive. Many of our friends and family commented on the beautiful surroundings and the great meal. We definitely will recommend Waverly Mansion and Catering by Uptown to our friends!

This is a beautiful historic home! The first floor has a few large rooms with plenty of seating and the upstairs has many beautifully decorated rooms that are great for getting ready, especially as the staircase is in the middle so to bridal pa...
rty and groomsman can get ready on different sides and move between rooms without worrying about the groom accidentally seeing the bride.
The reception area is outside but the patio is huge and permanent, many outdoor venues put down temporary flooring but not here, same is true for the tent, which is of extremely high quality and does have sides that can be rolled up/pulled back for great weather or closed if not (I believe there are many large window panels in the sides so if it's windy you can still enjoy plenty of natural light but I'm not 100% certain).
The only big drawback is that there is somewhat limited parking but as the hotel our guests are staying at is just down the road shuttling people over is quite easy.
