You and your sweetheart can exchange vows in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony before enjoying cocktails on the poolside patio. Guests can mingle with drinks and enjoy the estate’s romantic atmosphere. When you’re ready for dinner, you can make your way to the 4,000 square foot luxury high-peak pole tent. The venue offers stunning sunset views as day turns to night, when you can dance under the sparkling stars overlooking Historic Whitewood. Up to 250 guests can be accommodated, and the venue is pleased to offer on-site lodging for up to 18 people. An elegant dressing suite is available for you to relax and prepare before your celebrations. The owners believe in providing a relaxing, upscale experience for your wedding day. You will have 12-hour access to the venue and overnight accommodation for you and your partner. The venue package includes a pole tent for your reception, an on-site salon, and access to the site for engagement photos if desired. For your convenience, the venue will provide you with banquet tables, chairs, a horse trailer bar, and a vintage arbor. Dedicated parking attendants will be on hand to assist your guests as they arrive. We had a great time at the historic whitewood! We booked the location for a farewell party for an office manager who meant a lot to us. The Taylors, the owners, were so gracious. Every detail was carefully thought out. We had some unseasonably cooler temps with some rain but out came the tent and the space heaters and an indoor component. . We barely noticed the weather. The grounds are beautiful and you feel a world away from Richmond. If I wasnt already happily married, I would consider the Historic Whitewood for my wedding venue. The beauty of Powhatan is evident everywhere and despite the historical ambiance of the venue, no modern convenience was spared. Just an epic party and a fantastic place with considerate and thoughtful owners and managers.

I have attended an event at Historic Whitewood. I am recommending Historic Whitewood as a wedding venue because of the service and care a couple and their family will receive. Sarah and Chad both have a servant’s heart and are true to their word to help you create the dream you have in your heart. The accommodations were warm, intimate and scenic. Plenty of room for getting ready on site with special features and room for family to stay overnight. The event was beautiful - I can’t wait to attend another.

Whitewood was flawless, and such a beautiful and serene setting for an event! We loved the poolside cocktail hour by the fireplace and the food was delicious. The Taylor’s were so kind and have thought of everything… the Horse trailer bar is super cool!! Can’t wait to visit again!

Historic Whitewood is everything you could dream up, and more! The property itself is absolutely beautiful, and makes an incredible backdrop for any wedding or special event. The Taylor’s made it completely seamless in every aspect, and we could not recommend them and Historic Whitewood enough! Trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed!

We were fortunate enough to find Historic Whitewood when planning an engagement part. Chad and Sarah immediately returned our message, and we talked and worked through all of our ideas and thoughts and plans. And I can say - Chad and Sarah exceeded our vision and created the perfect party. The site is phenomenal, the facilities are perfect and the experience was incredible. I highly recommend Whitewood!!
