From the first time we met Terri at Hodgin valley farm there were flags/issues. First a professional venue will have a planner of some sort and information regards venue and servic...
es. She never answers her phone and delayed by 2 or 3 days in text messages. She gave us to a niece who has never been in charge of a wedding. Christine didn’t communicate with us to get ball rolling we had to chase her down. We were given the run around and never remembered the brides name or what conversation they had or when the wedding was. Christin quit being in charge and didn’t inform us until Terri called us. Mind you the bride chose the 2nd to most expensive package and received service as if she was paying $3000.00. All the services that she was supposed to receive was a lie. We had to contact the vendors and receive BOSS wedding software from the venue (Terri). We had to contact BOSS ourselves for the software. Terri never contacted the vendors like she said she would. We were told by the vendors that Terri was being kicked of the BOSS organization because she didn’t conduct her business by their standards and she was a horrible venue. But were to far in to change venues. Her day of Girl quit and we didn’t know and she gave use another she quit. Mind you they cost $900.00 plus for their services. So we found someone that was not connected to the sorry business. They worked with Happy Rentz (Kristen) and they were messy as well. Happy Rentz is part of the Hodgins farms Valley family business. The whole time we have been reaching out to Terri she has given the run around. So we met with Terri again finally and she gave a sorry apology and said things would be different and she was going take control of everything so the day would be special. That she would be there on Saturday to set up everything for ceremony and reception, again she didn’t know the bride or grooms name and she was unorganized. All of that was a lie. Nor did she keep in contact with us. The week before the wedding she states she does not provide dinner ware of cake plates for the reception and that the package didn’t offer plates, cups, utensils. The bride would have to get her own. But that’s not was she told the bride and it was also on what the package offered. She tried to get the bride for another $1000.00. She told the bride she will not be at the venue on her wedding because it was her birthday weekend and that the bride has to set the tables up and take everything down. But was told prior to not to worry about the things linens, plates, cups, Flatware being used from Happy Rentz Inc, and they do it themselves. What bride needs to worry about these problems. So this is a warning to all mixed or black couples or families DON’T USE HODGINS VALLY FARMS (Pleasant Garden NC) OR HAPPY RENTZ (Elm Eugene-Greensboro NC) for any event that you have. They will treat you like you are a nobody no matter how much you spend with them. Make sure that you keep a paper trail with them to protect yourself because all they do is lie. Even to the day of the wedding Terri was being smart with family members and the Day of Girl/event coordinator.
My wife and I just had our wedding here this past Saturday April 20, 2024 and I cannot express how awesome this venue is and the owner she takes time to make sure you're as comfort...
able as you can be before your big day and helps you in every way imaginable to make your wedding day go as smoothly as possible
The one word I would use to describe this venue was comfort. When we toured this venue, we were blown away with how different this venue felt from the others we had toured- a brea...
th of fresh air! It is hard to break out of the "wedding industry"-business side of venues with timelines and rules, but with Hodgin Valley Farm, it was all of the professionalism of wedding industry with literally none of the stress. Anything we needed was taken care of, they were flexible, and there was so much freedom to make our day perfect. The farm is STUNNING and just made our day so peaceful and beautiful. If finding a venue is stressing you out, booking Hodgin Valley Farm removes all of that stress.
Hodgin Valley Farm is a breathtaking venue! Very quiet and quaint with a beautiful lake and barn! My group had our semi-annual formal at their barn and had a blast dancing the nigh...
t away. Both managers Amy and Teri were wonderful to work with and truly went above and beyond to make our event a success. So thankful to this venue and it’s hard working crew!
We held our wedding here this past weekend. It was simply amazing! The crew worked to make this place beautiful. All the details that they have added to the place make your day eve...
n more special! We got married down by the lake and moved to the terrace for cocktail hour. The reception was held in and around the barn. I could not have asked for a more prefect day!
The location was gorgeous and spacious. Hodgin Valley Farm had a lot to offer even lodgings for myself and my bridesmaids. The Hazel house. were we stayed, was very cozy and the...
rooms very comfortable. The location also has the ability to have a back up plan for if it rains which we took advantage off and still went off without a hitch. My friends and I are also making plans to coming back just for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this location for any event!
Hodgin Valley Farm is an absolutely gorgeous place to be on any day, not to mention your wedding day! There's a peace and serene beauty about it that washes over you when you arriv...
e. Everything is kept clean and tidy and beautiful. The rustic details just seem so natural in their setting. Sunset and sunrise are both just breathtaking on the farm. The owners are extremely kind and helpful and will make your even as smooth and comfortable as they possibly can but they don't hover or micromanage. Mrs. Hodgin even brought us fresh baked coffee cake on the morning of the wedding rehearsal! I could not possibly imagine having a more satisfactory experience. My husband and I, as well as our guests, are in love with Hodgin Valley Farm. I can't say enough good things about this venue and it's owners.
This place was amazing to have a wedding. It is a huge 2 story barn where I had dancing on the first floor and eating on the second. My wedding was in May so the colors were amaz...
ing. The owner is so nice and he will accomidate you with whatever you may need. You are able to use whoever you want to cater and I really liked that too. I couldn't have asked for a better place to get married. If you are looking for rustic, vintage, outdoorsy than this is your place! Very reasonable price too!
Our wedding was above and beyond what I could have asked for. The farm isn't the easiest to get to; it's about 15-20 minutes outside Greensboro, but it is absolutely beautiful. Sin...
ce it's an entire farm, there's plenty of photo options available by the pond, in the fields, etc... Price range is very very reasonable (plus special deals for out-of-season and Sunday weddings).
As with any outdoor wedding/reception, you run the risk of inclement weather, but it was totally worth it to me. Fortunately, we had beautiful weather.
The selling point for me was the arboretum. It's a curved vine-covered walkway between the house and one of the ceremony sites. It is GORGEOUS. The rest of the farm has quaint houses/cottages, a barn (which can also be used for ceremonies/receptions), beautiful fields, and all kinds of animals (horses, goats, donkeys, peacocks(!!), chickens, etc...
All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an outdoor wedding venue. It is beautiful in and of itself; needs little decoration. Happy wedding planning, everyone!
