Cannot overstate how amazing Hoek was as a venue, top down. My husband and I were supposed to get married in May 2020 and we had planned a whole wedding when the shutdown happened....
That obviously didn't happen, and we ended up just doing the absolute minimum number necessary (us, an officiant, and two witnesses) in August 2020. Coming up on the five year anniversary in August 2025, we though it would be nice to do some sort of celebration, but having already planned one event only for it not to happen, we were feeling really overwhelmed by the idea of planning another. Enter Anna and the team at Hoek. Anna went so far above and beyond for us, she was really our wedding fairy godmother. When we communicated the feeling of exhaustion with planning, she basically said tell me generally what you like, what flowers you like, etc., and I've got you. And she did! We basically just had to show up, and Anna and the team set up and threw the most amazing party for us. Anna did the flowers, and she should get a side gig as a florist because they were so beautiful. the decor was so nice, and again, done with such minimal input from us. The food is DELICIOUS. My mom's family has problems with garlic and onions, and this PIZZA PLACE was like yup, no problem, and made them a ton of delicious food they could handle. My friend's family has a dairy allergy, and again this PIZZA PLACE was like yup no problem and they got a ton of great stuff to eat. Everyone on staff was so fun and so kind and helpful throughout the event. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but that's part of the charm, and the water being so close makes for some really beautiful pictures. And I have to give a big shoutout to Nico Medina, who Anna recommended as a photographer and who took really beautiful photos. His email is nmedinaphoto@gmail.com
And all of this was incredibly reasonably priced. Anna should ABSOLUTELY increase her prices because all of this was so much cheaper than any other venue we looked at in the city even five years ago. It would have been a steal at twice the price.

Our wedding was the best night of our lives. It was magical - unlike anything we've ever experienced.

140+ guests. The food was incredible, and our drink tasting with Katia helped us create specialty cocktails which complemented the open bar.
Hoek did our florals (including our bridal bouquets), which were amazingly gorgeous.
We partied well into the night, thanks to our amazing DJ, and was even able to walk to our after party, only a few blocks away.
Our pictures were recently returned to us, and the backdrop and views are spectacular. Our photographer walked us around the surrounding area for first look and family photos. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the Statue of Liberty as the backdrop to my wedding photos.
