Absolutely delicious food, delivered in a timely manner. We got so many compliments from guests!
There was so much food, and everyone loved everything (especially the Mac & Cheese). We were well taken care of, and the delivery was fast and efficient.
This food is unbelievably good. So much so that our wedding party was fighting over the leftovers the next day! Ruben (and the whole team) are wonderful people who are very profess...
ional and responsive to any and all requests you may have. In particular, we had a lot of people with allergies at our wedding and they were incredibly helpful in ensuring those guests had plenty of options and that food was made specially for them. I could not recommend this team any more highly than I do.
Ruben is hands down the best caterer I could ever have ever hoped for on our 5.22.21 wedding at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, VA. I don’t even know where to begin because I’m hones...
tly sad writing this knowing we are no longer working together. I knew before getting engaged that we would have bbq at our wedding. With Hogback every single thing clicked and it’s the only caterer we considered. The food is SO good that we will go down in history as the wedding with the best food (which is what I always wanted!) One of our guests had three helpings of the cole slaw and said it was the best he’s ever had, and let me tell you this man knows his food. Everyone else couldn’t stop raving about the brisket, mac and cheese, cornbread, everything. Anyways, Ruben not only has the best food (if you are truly looking for epic grub I don’t know why you’d even bother looking elsewhere after coming across his business), but beyond this he’s the most incredible vendor to work with. He’s extremely prompt, patient, helpful and kind. I basically texted him through email because he was that good and receptive to anything and everything I asked. No task was too big or small for him, and he and his team went above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible day, and it was just that. I actually decided to book Hogback as our rehearsal dinner as well at Great Valley Farm Brewery because it was just so easy and stress free to work with them, and after trying Ruben’s bbq at the brewery one day we were HOOKED. He even added little things here and there that I asked for help with (apple crates for decoration, ice cream scoops etc.). I truly cannot recommend Hogback Mountain enough, but I hope this review shows how easy it should be to stop reading reviews and pick this vendor ASAP!!!
AMAZING food, AMAZING service, and AMAZING people! Hogback Mtn BBQ catered our wedding on 11/7 and they did an incredible job. Our guests can't stop raving about the BBQ, Ruben was...
an absolute joy to work with, and Joyce and Jennifer made our place settings look so beautiful! Ruben accommodated so many last minute changes that came due to hiccups in wedding planning and didn't bat an eye. I can't recommend them enough for your next event.
My (now) husband and I were really interested in BBQ for our wedding, since we were having an outdoor wedding and a sort of laid-back vibe. Hogback was absolutely perfect. I can't ...
tell you how delicious their food is. Most brides complain about not being able to eat during their wedding - not me! I made it my mission to sit and enjoy the food :) All the staff was so helpful and kind, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. Thank you to everyone at Hogback!

husband probably had 4 plates worth of food.
Reuben was great to work with and helped make sure the night was absolutely perfect. I know we'll definitely be stopping in for a visit next time we're in Lexington!
Reuben and his Hogback Mtn. crew are absolutely wonderful! I booked them for my wedding in August and not only was the food DELICIOUS, Reuben was amazing to work with. It turned ou...
t our venue required a ton of extras from the caterer that aren't usually in a standard catering contract and Reuben was so sympathetic and worked so hard to tweak things and make it perfect. He was extremely responsive via e-mail and was so kind in all of our conversations. He really cares about the events that he caters and it's so obvious the love and hard work he puts in to each one. We had a lot of back and forths with our venue and Reuben accommodated all of our changes and was super flexible with everything. He was also really helpful with rentals and all of the other things that come up with planning a catered event! I highly recommend his services and am so thankful that we found him for our wedding! Again, the food is incredible!
My husband and I chose to do a destination wedding of sorts in Lexington, VA. Not being from the area we had no clue who would be the best canidate to cater our wedding. Once I s...
poke with Ruben we decided straight away to go with Hogback Mtn BBQ! He was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process of prep before the wedding. He helped us have exactly what we had envisioned for our wedding day! Not to mention that the food was incredible! They say that often the bride and groom don't have time to enjoy the food on their wedding day, but needless to say my husband and I made sure to have this wonderful meal we had looked forward to!! I highly recommend Hogback MTN BBQ for any catering need you have. You'll not regret it!
