Hogback Mtn BBQ

This food is unbelievably good. So much so that our wedding party was fighting over the leftovers the next day! Ruben (and the whole team) are wonderful people who are very professional and responsive to any and all requests you may have. In particular, we had a lot of people with allergies at our wedding and they were incredibly helpful in ensuring those guests had plenty of options and that food was made specially for them. I could not recommend this team any more highly than I do.

Ruben is hands down the best caterer I could ever have ever hoped for on our 5.22.21 wedding at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, VA. I don’t even know where to begin because I’m honestly sad writing this knowing we are no longer working together. I knew before getting engaged that we would have bbq at our wedding. With Hogback every single thing clicked and it’s the only caterer we considered. The food is SO good that we will go down in history as the wedding with the best food (which is what I always wanted!) One of our guests had three helpings of the cole slaw and said it was the best he’s ever had, and let me tell you this man knows his food. Everyone else couldn’t stop raving about the brisket, mac and cheese, cornbread, everything. Anyways, Ruben not only has the best food (if you are truly looking for epic grub I don’t know why you’d even bother looking elsewhere after coming across his business), but beyond this he’s the most incredible vendor to work with. He’s extremely prompt, patient, helpful and kind. I basically texted him through email because he was that good and receptive to anything and everything I asked. No task was too big or small for him, and he and his team went above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible day, and it was just that. I actually decided to book Hogback as our rehearsal dinner as well at Great Valley Farm Brewery because it was just so easy and stress free to work with them, and after trying Ruben’s bbq at the brewery one day we were HOOKED. He even added little things here and there that I asked for help with (apple crates for decoration, ice cream scoops etc.). I truly cannot recommend Hogback Mountain enough, but I hope this review shows how easy it should be to stop reading reviews and pick this vendor ASAP!!!

AMAZING food, AMAZING service, and AMAZING people! Hogback Mtn BBQ catered our wedding on 11/7 and they did an incredible job. Our guests can't stop raving about the BBQ, Ruben was an absolute joy to work with, and Joyce and Jennifer made our place settings look so beautiful! Ruben accommodated so many last minute changes that came due to hiccups in wedding planning and didn't bat an eye. I can't recommend them enough for your next event.

My (now) husband and I were really interested in BBQ for our wedding, since we were having an outdoor wedding and a sort of laid-back vibe. Hogback was absolutely perfect. I can't tell you how delicious their food is. Most brides complain about not being able to eat during their wedding - not me! I made it my mission to sit and enjoy the food :) All the staff was so helpful and kind, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. Thank you to everyone at Hogback!
