I do not recommend to book hotel rooms here. The rooms were clean… but that’s the only thing I can say.
The hotel is huge and laid out in such a way that it takes forever to get ...
to your room. Even the elevators are at the complete end of the building, so just unloading the car was a process to get everything there from the lobby. The hallways all smelled (several of our guests commented on this as well). Doors to the rooms were swollen from moisture, so they all constantly slammed when shut. Door to our room had to be shoved to shut it, that’s how swollen the wood was.
The bathrooms are laid out strangely, to use the toilet or the shower you have to walk AROUND the bathroom door.
When walking to our room we passed another room that was undergoing renovations. The door was wide open, no workers/barriers/caution signs, and the outside wall was missing from the room... on the second floor! Thank goodness no child was around who could have literally fallen out of an open wall and gotten seriously hurt!
The entire reason we decided to have our room block at this hotel was because we were told if we met a certain quota of booked rooms for our room block that it included use of the hotel shuttle for free. We were communicating with Chase regarding the use of the shuttle from the beginning. We confirmed a month in advance of our dates that we had met the quota, and reached out to discuss the times we wanted to use the shuttle, but we were told Chase was on vacation and that he would reach out to us when he was back the following week. Well he never followed up, and honestly this was the one thing that slipped my mind. When we checked in to the hotel, we asked the front desk agent about setting up the shuttle. We were told that Chase was (again? still?) on vacation. And regardless of that, the shuttle had to be done in advance. Luckily we were able to book a transportation company to provide the shuttle for our guests for the wedding. The front desk was at least gracious enough to schedule two trips of the shuttle to take over some members of the wedding party before the main shuttle started. Honestly the most upsetting part of this situation is that Chase never actually got in contact with us again, not even an apology for things falling through the cracks.
Another strange occurrence, the morning of checkout. We met up with our friends and family for breakfast (which is not included, you need to pay extra for this). Several people told me that when they went back up to their rooms afterwards to pack (well before checkout time), housekeeping staff were already in the rooms cleaning them… with all of their items still there. And before you argue that maybe they confused the dates and were making the beds, no the staff was literally throwing things away. One guest had taken some of the leftover wedding food back to their room and stored it in their room fridge for us. An entire tray of lobster macaroni and cheese.. thrown into the maid’s trash bin. Thank goodness our friends returned to their rooms when they did, would the staff have thrown away the rest of their belongings too? Very weird, I’ve never heard of this happening before and at least three guests in different rooms told us this happened to them.
Pool was also closed for renovations during our stay, which was Labor Day weekend.
at this point, no surprise.
I understand that Holiday Inn is not a top rated hotel… but we expected much more than we received. Book somewhere else.
We recently held a HS sports banquet at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey. Planning was a breeze with Deanna, and the service and venue the day of the event was fantastic. Most im...
portantly, the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone planning an event.
Deanna was great to work with. Everything was set up as planned and they really work with every type of budget.
This is the hotel we used for our guest accommodation because it was close to our venue and had the Winners Circle bar downstairs. The guests said the rooms were nice; however, th...
ey did not include breakfast. Some of the reservations were lost as well, so check in was not as efficient as it could have been.
We got a good deal, no minimums as it was an "off" month, plus 10 complimentary meals & 5 complimentary rooms. We were promised things in the beginning that did not come through, ...
but we also had 4 different people involved in our wedding planning from the hotel. We still had a great time & the other vendors complimented on how nice it was to work with them.
There were a few issues and a little disappointed, but if they only mess up on small this, it didn't ruin my day. Even if you are very detailed how you want things they make it the...

All of our guests loved the food and were raving about how nice the ballroom was. The service was great and food was amazing! Amanda the wedding coordinator is really easy to work ...
with and knows how to make the venue look perfect! The only negative we had was that the open bar ran out of certain kinds of alcohol. Oher than that it was amazing!

t downhill. When my husband and I arrived no one knew what to do with us and we waited for 35 minutes for them to give us a room (because of this I had to be ready and in my dress in less than 2 hours), which wasn't even our promised room. While getting my hair and make-up done we had to switch to our actual room...and it was an inconvenience. Many other small things went wrong as well. However, the food was good and after we worked through the bumps in the beginning everything else went okay. I would not recommend this venue to anyone, especially for a wedding.
Amanda, our wedding planner was wonderful, no detail was missed. My mother needed diet-no caffiene soda and they did not have at the Hotel, so she got in her car and drove to the ...
store to purchase for her!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
I spent lots of time with our planner at the Holiday Inn. We had made up welcome baskets for guests that booked under our name, each one with a letter made out to a family/friend....
In order to insure that the welcome baskets were given to the correct people I made a list for the front desk people to check off who picked theirs up. Turns out the front desk staff decided to offer our baskets to anyone, even people not there for our wedding. Our cake had 4-5 different flavors, we were told that the wait staff would ask our guests what flavor they would want. On our wedding day not only did they not ask what flavor our guests wanted, but some didn't even get cake at all. The next day we were given a free voucher for the brunch. Since we had many family members staying overnight we got up earlier to find out where brunch was. When we got downstairs we saw a hostess standing outside of a room that had brunch in it. We handed our voucher in and she was all confused. She told us that we could use it in 3 different places and then thought mabye we were to use it in the private room. (where the other wedding that was at the hotel was eating) Then we decided to ask how much it was for guests, since our guests were given a rate of $17.99. She had to ask someone else again and wasn't sure. Meanwhile, our family/friends began to gather to greet each other while we tried to figure out where we were supposed to be. The hostess was rude enough to ask them, are you eating here or just going to stand here? After all the money we spent between the reception and hotel stays we were not treated respectfully.
I loved the free room the night of and the free breakfast the next morning. I loved how they took the time to find out exactly what I wanted. Everything else was just great, not ...
necessarily on a I loved it scale.;Make sure to be very specific about what you want with everything. My Matron of Honor and I spent a lot of time stuffing purple grass into flutes to match the theme of the wedding expecting the hotel to use their own flutes for the toast but they did not. They took out and threw away all that grass to fill the flutes that were to be favors.
