Super handy right off the highway. The room was quiet, incredibly clean (and I have high standards for cleanliness), and comfortable. The bathroom door doesn’t provide privacy or even stay closed, but that’s a minor complaint. The staff was out...
standing, especially our check-in person at 9pm on 06/06/26. Highly recommend this hotel.

Had a wonderful experience at the Holiday Inn on Tigue Street in Dunmore. Corey and Crissy went above and beyond to accommodate our family on short notice and made sure everything went smoothly. The chef was so nice, the food was delicious, the...
drinks were great, and the service was excellent. During a difficult time, everyone made us feel welcomed and taken care of. We truly appreciate all of the kindness and professionalism shown to our family.

The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The bar area was nice to sit and relax in. Our only issue was the pool area is not completely enclosed and everything echos. There were people...
/kids in the pool after 11 pm and we could hear them in our room. Our room was down the hall from the pool. If you have a room right next to the pool I'm sure it sounds 10x louder. Had we been there on a night when there weren't inconsiderate guests in the pool I probably would have given 5 stars.

I have to give props to Priceline and Holiday Inn for having a seamless booking experience. I was a lil worried about the hotel not being booked properly but didn't have any issues and the process was seamless.
This hotel has a great location ...
directly off of I-84 though there sadly isn't a lot around if you're hoping to eat or shop directly around the hotel but it's pretty fast and easy to get onto 84 and get anywhere else in Scranton.
We booked 4 nights and were rather impressed by the hotel but had a few issues when we visited that I don't know are always common or just room issues.
The Pros:
Rooms were surprisingly quiet and didn't have too much noise from around us (can't tell if we're didn't have any neighbors) but it was very quiet.
Beds were comfy and so were the pillows, they were clean
Location of hotel makes it easy to access and also leave for daily activities
Hotel looked mostly modern with refurbished rooms
Onsite restaurant with seemingly high reviews (4.4 as reviewing) (but we did not personally eat here during our stay)
Room was clean and didn't seem to have many signs of wear
House keeping is ever other day
The Cons
We had issues with the Wi-Fi either not working, being weak or seemingly missing. Luckily we have good mobile plans, but WiFi seemed very intermittent during our stay.
The drain plug in the bathtub wouldn't close properly so it was difficult to enjoy a bath
There was an almost like wet dog smell in the room, unsure if it was due to a dirty AC unit or something else, it wasn't problem but a smell you would get hit everytime coming into the room
The AC unit seems a bit funky, it was difficult to keep the room both dry and the right temp (thought my own AC unit at home is usually just as finicky but I think this room being semi underground doesn't help
The TV seemed a bit out of date for a upper range hotel, the guide was only on a single channel and (unless we was really stupid) we couldn't see if there was a way to bring the guide up on screen. The TV size was also small but that seems common in most hotels.
Pro/Con
I saw a few reviews mentioning this, this hotel has a sorta center “lobby/atrium” if you get an interior room you only get a window pointed towards the hall or lobby without a window outside, and the 3rd floor seem to have a wall instead of view of the lobby, there is a set of rooms that point outside and against another row of windows between your room and the hall. I can see why some people might not like it, to me it gives a cruise ship vibe even though I have never been on one but I would think the staff would be accommodating enough to offer a different room if they have space.
I enjoyed my stay even with the few issues we had, we aren't really the type to spend all day in the hotel it's sorta our place to sleep so for others it might be more bothersome, the staff we had experience with was mostly positive other than one person who seemed extremely uninterested in any convo. (I don't know why these places put non people persons front facing) But otherwise we would recommend staying here if you're staying in the Scranton area though make sure you're getting a deal. I think If I was paying the full price at the Holiday Inn website I would have been a lil upset but getting it for almost 200$ off at the Priceline sorta help burden the difference.
