Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races

a relatively-rural area, sometimes it's hard to find quality that's not super $$$ without heading far away / to the city. We really had a priority of food and fun, and food can definitely get pricey fast. We had prime rib and pork tenderloin carving stations and a buffet of sides for under $25 per person. It is also important to mention that we did not have to put down a huge deposit (it was $500) OR pay to rent the facility for the day. Likewise, the banquet manager, Nancy, was HIGHLY helpful in all aspects of the wedding...even if I needed her suggestions/input or changed my mind on something a million times. Additionally, Nancy fully-supported my request for cheesecake instead of cake and even went so far as to not only set up the entire cake display on the day of, but to set up a meeting with the baker and I to fully-communicate what I wanted. BTW, the cheesecake was fabulous, and everybody talked about it. I have only 2 drawbacks and they are VERY MINOR: some of my guests mentioned the temperature of the room, which to me was a little warm, and secondly, some of my guests mentioned that they didn't think there was any (or very much at all) alcohol in their drinks (which, for $6/drink, kind of stinks). But ultimately, I have nothing but good things to say about the price, the facility, the food, and Nancy (who usually answered my emails within 24 hours). And lastly, my guests loved the 'feel' and 'atmosphere' of the track's ballroom, saying that it was very party-ish and fun - especially b/c you could see the races from the huge window wall.
