The Dover Bay Homestead Barn was the perfect place to host our wedding reception! The property is gorgeous, especially in the evening as the sun is setting. The barn itself is rustic and the wood finishes and tables are beautiful. It was very easy to coordinate with the Dover Bay Resort staff to sign and submit the rental contract, make payments, and visit the barn ahead of the event to see the space. The staff were quick to respond over email and fix problems as they arose, and they worked seamlessly with our chosen catering and furniture rental companies to coordinate equipment pick-up and drop-off. It was also so convenient for several of our guests to spend the weekend at the Dover Bay Resort bungalows, as the bungalows were a short walk from the barn. The only minor challenges were that the string lights repeatedly flipped the breaker and the upper floor of the barn can get quite warm, so fans could be helpful if you are hosting an event later in the summer. Overall, we had an amazing wedding reception and got many compliments from various guests about the venue.
We hosted a beautiful barn wedding at Dover Bay Homestead Barn, and it was truly everything we could have hoped for.! The venue’s rustic charm, character and a splash of glam created an intimate venue that perfectly matched our daughter and son-in-law’s vision. The exposed beams, warm string lighting, and chandeliers in the loft made the whole space a cozy, romantic glow that made every moment feel special. We were sad to leave because it became such a special place.
The grounds were equally lovely — picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and peaceful spots by the lake that made for stunning photos! Most of our family and wedding party stayed in the Dover Bay cabins on the lake, which turned the wedding into a relaxed weekend retreat. Gathering there in the mornings for coffee and in the evenings by the water gave everyone a chance to reconnect, laugh, and make memories with guests who traveled.
The staff at Dover Bay were attentive, professional, knowledgeable and all around just great humans, even from the very beginning of the process. From the first email to the last goodbye’s everything was thoughtfully handled. We left feeling grateful for a flawless celebration that honored our family and brought our loved ones together in such a warm, welcoming setting. Highly recommended for anyone dreaming of a rustic, elegant barn wedding with on-site lodging and a genuine homestead feel.
