The Homestead had great facilities. Our ceremony was under a gazebo outside and then we have white tents setup on the patio for dinner and the Garden Room for the rest of the rece...
ption. Overall the staff was great to help out with anything we needed. Most of the staff was professional and friendly. It was a nice location and the men were able to golf the morning of the wedding while the ladies swam in the crater. My only complaint is the "wedding planner" on staff. She wasn't very helpful with the events the day of. We setup a schedule ahead of time becasue I didn't want to be bothered with a million questions during the event. However, this timeline was not followed and I was repeatedly asked questions by her about when I wanted to this or that. Luckily my aunt and my mum stepped in and took over the schedule. I am just afraid it took away from them being able to enjoy the moment. They even had to rearrange the way people were sitting during the ceremony becasue she wasn't sure what was customary!

The Zermatt is a break-off sister business from Homestead, right across the street, and the Zermatt is a BEAUTIFUL wedding resort. In Midway Utah, it was a great chic escape for o...
ur destination wedding. When we found them in 2014, they were a great wedding value for $3500 venue rental - however it was a pain working with their new wedding coordinator Jenelle when our original coordinator with the hotel (Jen) got switched out. In 2015 after we booked with Zermatt, they were bought out by a Park City company, so what used to be a cute small-town gorgeous resort ended up going through a lot of changes through our wedding planning - and it was frustrating. For $3500, you'd expect responsiveness, an attentive wedding coordinator (as advertised), standard wedding venue amenities like dress steaming - but in the end it felt the Zermatt was nickle-and-diming our wedding experience, charging us for every service and flexibility we asked for - things you should expect would come with your wedding venue rental. BUT, the Zermatt Resort was beautiful - the staff itself were very welcoming and helpful, and again the venue and mountains are beautiful! A great wedding find - but they made our wedding experience very stressful, we wanted to cancel the whole wedding with them many times. Ultimately, our guests loved the venue and our wedding weekend went off beautifully and without a hitch, despite the lackluster wedding support - my groom had to do a lot of running around to make sure everything went well while the girls got ready, and that's why I love him. :)

The Homestead Resort was an amazing place to go to relax after the wedding. My husband and I loved being secluded and there weren't a lot of people around. It was truly a great pla...
ce to relax. There were only a few little dampers like there was a wet spot in front of our bathroom door, we told them multiple times about it and said maintenance would look at it and they never came. The ice machines were out of use because it was winter, I guess April is still considered winter. And most of their soda machines were out of soda. Other than that, it was an amazing place to be! I also recommend going to Simon's Restaurant (in the hotel), you HAVE to have their potted bread, it is simply divine!
