I cannot say enough about this venue. Our wedding day was so incredibly perfect, the venue is beyond gorgeous. There are so many wonderful places to take photos, and the ceremony a...

My wife and I were scheduled to have our wedding at Homewood immediately after Hurricane Helene. After initially agreeing to host the event, the venue cancelled our wedding without...
discussion with less than a week’s notice. The team has since been less than helpful in reaching a resolution and unpleasant to work with. As Asheville locals, it is especially disappointing during a time when our community has been devastated by such an event. It has been a very unfortunate experience since so many of our vendors were eager to work with us and be good neighbors. While the venue is beautiful and was untouched by the Hurricane, please think twice before scheduling your wedding at Homewood.
They refused to refund our wedding after Hurricane Helene forced them to cancel the date we had already paid in full for, citing a clause in the contract which allows them to wrigg...
le out of giving you back any money you give to them. They would only offer to reschedule. We were obviously disappointed but managed to whip up a truly incredible wedding locally in Raleigh instead.
We decided we wanted to have a small vow renewal next year at Homewood so we could have the ceremony we imagined while also keeping our money in the Asheville community with our vendors. We asked if they would reschedule our date and give us a partial refund as the scope of the event would be significantly reduced. They again refused, again, citing the clause in the contract. We made a completely reasonable request - requesting that we be refunded the difference between what we booked initially and what the new event would have cost and they refused it.
The entire situation left a really bad taste in our mouths and now we want nothing to do with these people. They showed themselves to be cold, cynical business people. They can throw a wedding in an empty room next year for all we care.
Amazing venue and staff! Kristy made our wedding day run so smoothly! 10/10 would recommend. It made our wedding day absolutely perfect <3.
We used Homewood for our daughter's reception. The facility is beautiful and was perfect for our celebration.
Homewood was our reception venue for our June 2024 wedding and it was PERFECT! It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. If you're looking for a great venue that is st...

We had our wedding last month at Homewood and the venue was absolutely amazing! It is the perfect place to have a less than 100 person wedding, and the whole night felt SO intimate...
. Everyone we worked with at Homewood, including the in-house wedding coordinator, Asheville Beverage Company, and the in-house caterer were all amazing. Our wedding was May 3rd and the greenery for the outside ceremony was beautiful. I also love that this venue has such a good backup plan if it rains, which is getting married inside the ballroom in front of this beautiful old mantle.
We had a wonderful experience at our June 2023 wedding at Homewood. It was a beautiful backdrop for our special day. All of our vendors were wonderful!
I'm so glad we found Homewood for our wedding! The venue is so beautiful and provided us everything we wanted. The team made themselves available whenever we had questions and made...
the process seamless. If you're looking for a uniquely Asheville venue, look no further!
Such a beautiful site for our intimate wedding. It was actually the only venue we looked at...it had everything we needed! Beautiful architecture and gorgeous natural spaces. Very ...
Downton Abbey meets Game of Thrones. You do have to use some required vendors which limits your choices for caterers and others, so be aware of that. Highly recommend Homewood for your dream wedding!
We absolutely loved getting married at Homewood. First of all, it is BEAUTIFUL - all of our guests were impressed with the beauty and charm of the place. Secondly, they know what t...
hey are doing! They have weddings there pretty much every weekend, and therefore, they are like a well-oiled machine. They have 2 required vendors - day-of coordination and bar service - and because of that, those 2 aspects run incredibly smoothly. We also used their in-house catering and floral vendors, and again, everything ran really smoothly. They recently acquired the upstairs for a bridal and groom suite, which is a really nice place to hang out before the wedding. The only down side is you can only arrive 2 hours before your ceremony without paying extra, and it would have been nice to have that space for longer. We had our ceremony and reception indoors, and turnover of the room was smooth and quick, and we loved the outdoor cocktail area for guests. Finally, the big plus of this venue compared to others in Asheville is the location. We had people flying in without cars and it was perfect for them to Uber 10 min from downtown rather than driving an hour out into the country to get mountain views. I will forever cherish our day and all of our photos from this beautiful venue!
We had our November wedding at Homewood, and the space is incredible! We were able to have our ceremony outdoors, although the staff said they could switch last minute and set up i...
nside if the weather was too cold or rainy. Our reception was inside.
The reception space inside is gorgeous, and they recently opened up a getting-ready space upstairs that is absolutely stunning. They also have an outdoor space (separate from the ceremony garden) that serves well for cocktail hour. They also have fireplaces that can be lit inside if the weather is below 60 degrees. I would absolutely recommend this historic and beautiful space. You are in good hands and your guests will have a great experience.
One of the most beautiful wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Getting married in the garden and having the reception in the hall felt like being a princess getting married in a castle! ...
Not to mention the amazing history!

he team was so helpful with about 2 months to go. My wife and I got married at Homewood in July 2020. It is a beautiful venue with good flexibility and rates too. We would highly recommend!
We got married here on 9/20/20, and it was beautiful! We had to reschedule and significantly downsize our wedding due to the pandemic, and they were extremely accommodating of all ...
of our needs as well as very responsive to emails. They do require use of their in-house planning (Carolina Love Events), a choice of 6 caterers, and alcohol through Asheville Beverage which is also in-house. Some may see this as negative or limiting, but it honestly made it easier on us by focusing our decision making. Not to mention how helpful Nikki at Carolina Love Events was to have with us throughout the whole process- it was great to have her knowledge of the venue throughout planning.
We took advantage of their garden for our ceremony and opted for an outdoor cocktail hour and reception, which requires use of a tent in the parking lot. I was a bit nervous about this because I didn't want to lose the ambiance of the venue, but the tent with the party lights up against the stone wall made it feel like we were in our own little world for the celebration.
The whole experience with Homewood from start to finish was great, and I can't recommend it as a wedding venue enough!
We loved Homewood as a wedding venue! It is beautiful, romantic, and gave our wedding the intimate feel we wanted! It is conveniently located close to downtown Asheville but seclud...
ed enough that it felt like just us and our guests. They were great to work with throughout our planning and we couldn't have been happier on our wedding day.
The Homewood is an absolutely stunning venue. We loved it and ultimately chose it as our dream winter wedding location specifically for the backdrop of the grand fireplace. It woul...
d have been so beautiful but the wedding coordinator that Homewood requires you to hire (Carolina Love Events) completely forgot to turn on the fireplace before starting our ceremony. It was fully noted that the fire was our most important detail. Several of us even reminded them to turn on the fireplace before but they still just simply forgot. Homewood makes you use their coordinator, beverage service and you get a limited list of 6 caterers to chose from. Luckily we got to pick the rest of our vendors. We regret trusting Homewoods vendor team with the most important details of our wedding. For couples who truly care about details go elsewhere!
When we first visited this space, we fell in love with it. I think I remember seeing images in my deep dive search on Pinterest and Instagram. There was even a mama black bear and ...
i think 4 cubs that wandered past as we looked outside! (We kept more than a respectful, safe distance!)
The in-house coordination service was fantastic. And while for some, the required vendors for coordination, alcohol and food might be a deterrent, it actually put my mind at ease a bit. Most of the vendors we went with had worked the venue before and were even familiar with the Day of Coordinating team. Everything went very smoothly, and couldn't be happier with what we got.
It was a little pricey, but for the beauty of the space I think it was worth it. There were two getting ready spaces, both for the bride and groom (or groom and groom or bride and bride).
Note: if you don't want to do a ton of your own decorating they had a candlelight package offered to fill up the windows and sides of the inside hall. Definitely worth it, since it all looks like it belongs in the space.
I'm glad we also ended up only using the inside, because last weekend I think the high was in the 40's. Definitely too cold for the elder guests that came. The fireplaces were lit for the ceremony and dinner, then we had them turn them off for the rest of the reception so when people started dancing it didn't get too hot! We invited 100, but I think less than 85 including bridal party were there, which was enough for approximately 10 tables and plenty of room for dancing!
From start to finish, this was the perfect place for our wedding. Wedding coordinator, vendors, flowers ...all very good and professional. Every suggestion was spot on!

od is a beautiful venue, outdoor garden for wedding and cocktails on a beautiful summer day in June.
Highly recommend!
We LOVED this venue. From the moment we first saw it, my husband and I knew this is where we wanted to get married. The inside has such a naturally wood/antique-y feel to it and wi...
th the candles, looks so beautiful. We had our ceremony outdoors and with all the trees fully bloomed, it was gorgeous. The staff at Homewood were extremely responsive during the booking phase and even allow you to reserve a date for a week before you make a final decision. This was especially useful for us because we are not from Asheville and needed the time to travel up there to check out the venue. Would definitely recommend the venue for intimate weddings. We had about 80 people and everyone fit comfortably within the venue. We also had a Sunday wedding (holiday weekend) and that helped save on venue costs in our wedding budget!
I fell in love with Homewood the moment I saw it. I've always been a princess and had a love for the vintage things, and Homewood was absolutely perfect for my vision. The manor is...
absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. The garden is the perfect little spot for a ceremony, and the great dining hall is great for a reception. They also have a hidden forest that makes for gorgeous pictures. Seriously, Homewood was perfect in every way. Everyone that I showed our venue to said that it looked like a castle and commented on how amazing it was. I truly believe our wedding was perfect and the best day ever, and it wouldn't have been possible without such an amazing, gorgeous venue.
I found Homewood using a quick internet search, and I fell in love--it's a small castle!!. We currently live in South Korea, and toured the venue while we were visiting family las...
t Christmas. Julie, Nikki, and everyone on the Homewood staff were amazing. They were all so responsive to all of my emails and questions and did such a thorough job at explaining everything. The service from the Homewood team is outstanding, and they were so patient and accommodating of us being out of the country.
The outdoor ceremony site was beautiful, the cocktail hour setting with the bistro lights was perfect, and the ballroom set up for the reception with all of the candles was everything I imagined. We could not have chosen a better venue for our day!! Everything was absolutely perfect.
It was a beautiful evening!

g!
Homewood was the most magical and dreamy wedding venue I could imagine. We had our ceremony outside in the garden, and our reception inside the house in the ballroom (if it had rai...
ned, which thankfully it did not, we had the option to also move the ceremony inside). It was like getting married in a castle! The venue was the perfect size for our 110-person wedding.
The house itself is absolutely gorgeous, and has a lot of great history to it, too. I liked that there was plenty of parking at the venue, and we didn't have to worry about giving our guests and older family members lots of addresses and making them drive to and from a ceremony and reception venue. Being able to have our ceremony and reception all in one location, while still having them in separate spaces, is exactly what we wanted.
The house also has a separate building with a bridal suite where my bridesmaids and I got dressed before the wedding. We were able to keep our dresses, wedding bands, and wedding license there overnight, so we didn't have to worry about forgetting anything or leaving anything behind the morning of the wedding. They also had mimosas for me and my gals in the bridal suite before the wedding! It was wonderful.
Nikki, the venue coordinator, was so pleasant to work with. She made sure our wedding day ran smoothly and that everyone and everything were where they needed to be. She took all the stress away from me, and made my wedding day run so smoothly. Nikki is very flexible and truly has the best interest of the bride and groom at heart. She does what she can to give you your dream wedding, and I absolutely loved working with her.
Homewood is the perfect wedding venue. We chose Homewood for our daughter's wedding reception last weekend. Nikki answered emails promptly and helped us through the process. She ...
was there throughout the night, making sure everything went as planned. The exterior of Homewood was so beautiful for an evening wedding. With lanterns lining the walkway (we were allowed to provide) and a bagpiper playing, the beauty of Homewood's exterior set the stage for a wonderful evening. As I entered the dining hall with flowers, greenery and candles galore, I was speechless. Throughout the evening, our guests commented on the beauty of this venue. I would highly recommend Homewood for wedding events. It definitely set the stage for a fairytale evening.
Homewood made for such a beautiful venue. It’s a hidden gem. You feel like royalty when you enter the venue. Our wedding party was about 50 people and we could have easily been ...
comfortable having more. The price for the venue was a really good deal in our minds. I looked through hundreds of venue ideas in multiple cities and Homewood by far out weighed each of them for value you receive. You have the castle in the mountain feel, the candlelight package was well worth the ambiance it gave. The fireplaces we’re gorgeous and exterior was an amazing backdrop. Nikki truly knows her stuff and will help you every step of the way. And if you are lucky you may just get meet her better half at the bar when you order your drink! Thanks John you were a great bartender!
Absolutely flawless execution. From the time we booked the venue to the day after the wedding, we never worried about what was going on or if everything was in place. Nikki made ev...
erything a breeze to deal with and work through. She made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. The day of the wedding, we never were concerned and the guests had a perfect time. Communication was top notch and follow up was always on time.
Homewood is beautiful. The building makes you feel like you're stepping back in time and has a very castle-y look to it. The inside has a great layout and the reception hall is an ...
amazing room. The chandeliers and fireplace give it a romantic formal feel, but it's also very inviting. The grounds are well cared for and picturesque, especially in fall. The onsite bridal suite made it very easy for me and my bridesmaids to get ready and relax before the ceremony.
Our experience at Homewood was an absolute dream. Nikki was incredibly diligent and helpful throughout the whole long distance planning... and on the day of, she made sure the venu...
e was decorated flawlessly, the vendors were all prepared, and that we stayed on schedule. I cannot believe how stress-free it was. Homewood is a beautiful location with a wonderful staff. Our wedding truly exceeded all my expectations and we were able to stay within our budget. I would highly recommend!
This is a beautiful location, a little castle in the mountains, that seems cheap enough in the beginning, but watch out for the hidden fees. First of all, if you want any sort of s...
ound, it's an extra $150 to use their equipment, it's an extra $200 for candles. Oh, and they won't mention this until after you sign, but they require $1K to be paid to a wedding planner who does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except be there for the caterer to get there.
You're gambling if you have your wedding here, as they don't contact the local tour bus line and tell them not to come by in the MIDDLE OF YOUR OUTDOOR CEREMONY. Then they'll lie to your face and tell you that they did. I called the bus company after this lie. They never heard from our planner about that day, and they offered more recompense and apology for their driver yelling "DON'T DO IT" over a loudspeaker than Homewood did for not handling it in the first place. They'll put Table 8's number upside down (because at this point, I'm pretty sure they're just screwing with you to see how much you're going to fix before your guests notice that it's off), ignore half of your DIY decorations, screw up your clearly written and labeled Bridesmaid/Groomsmen order, ignore written and discussed plans, and their required Cake people (because you have to select from a list of not-so-great vendors. Thankfully the caterer and photographer were both amazing, and we didn't include any of their other lists of their local "buddies" or "in-house" people) will get the cake at least 65% to 85% wrong because they didn't take adequate notes when you met with them, and I mean covering what was supposed to be buttercream in fondant levels of wrong. That's what happened to us. Fondant is nasty.
If Nikki is your planner, watch out, she's the absolute worst. After screwing up so hardcore on all of this that our heads were spinning after the wedding, she proceeded to blame MY bride for all of NIKKI'S mess-ups in the return email from our comments about her poor performance (or lack of performance in general). Then, failing to take into account at this late stage in the game that Asheville's mail is routed through South Carolina, the deposit (which should have been a full refund, if you ask us, so far as we're disappointed from how badly they messed up the happiest day of our lives), was almost a full week late after the date in the contract for getting back to us.
Also, they require you to overpay for any and all alcohol through Asheville Beverage, their in-house company. If you ask about a specialty order, they just stop answering your emails about your alcohol and soda altogether (so if you wanted a specific beer, or in our case, Apple Wine, you are officially out of luck, because they don't care about you enough to put in extra effort), and they also take an extra 10% of whatever you pay your caterer. (FEES! FEES! FEES!)
They charge every hidden fee in the book, will outright blame YOU for THEIR various screw-ups, and offer half-hearted apologies, condescension and excuses when you call them out on their bull.
If it comes to having your wedding here do everything yourself, and triple check it. Because if they have the opportunity to screw it up, they will. They don't care about you, your wedding, or your happiness. They just want your money.
Nikki and the rest of the staff at Homewood were so superb and made everything run smoothly for our wedding! The weather was terrible, so everything had to be moved inside, but the...
staff made that transition seamlessly and it was truly like a well-oiled machine. They all know what they're doing and we were happy to trust them with all the details and timing.
Nikki, personally, was very patient with us as we had endless questions and a late arrival to one of our appointments. She was great at anticipating our needs and doing so with a warm, friendly attitude. Her calming presence was a huge part of what made Homewood so great.

at our day was the best day ever! Nikki even helped all throughout our planning process and made the whole ordeal of a wedding seem almost stressfree! If you're thinking about an Asheville wedding and you want a beautiful and unique place to get married, then visit Homewood!

ikki, was so helpful from the moment we booked it.. especially since I was planning our wedding remotely. We chose a smaller "elopement" package but I still feel like we got the treatment of a full blown all-day ceremony and reception reservation; we also were introduced to an officiant as part of the package who was very nice and professional. As you can imagine, Homewood's outdoor area in the fall looks absolutely stunning. I'm so glad we were able to have our wedding ceremony here!

ople to bring my dream to life. Their recommended vendors are excellent and they set everything up to be as stress-free as possible. Beautiful place, intimate without being crowded, and everyone there is so friendly and helpful.
This venue was perfect for our destination wedding! Nikki was so helpful and always got back to me with any question I had and our guests loved every moment of our special day!!!

im while looking at some other venues after hearing about it, but Monroe greeted us warmly even without advance notice, and gave us a tour. We loved it! Even in the winter, when we first visited, it was lovely. We debated over several venues, but we kept coming back to Homewood, and ultimately decided it was the place for us! Lee-Ann helped us with the details of our reservation, and she was absolutely fantastic. We met with her several times and each time we could feel the wedding coming together more and more. And the day of was absolutely magical. It looked like it might rain, so Lee-Ann had contingencies just in case, but luckily, the clouds literally parted right before the ceremony began and the sun peeked through the trees of the glen. Granted, Lee-Ann hadn't made that happen (or else she's really amazing), but her planning and help making sure our day would be fantastic regardless of the weather made a huge difference!
I had my wedding in July at Homewood. Everything was absolutely beautiful. We were originally scheduled to get married there next February, but we moved the wedding up due to a job...
relocation. The staff there was so helpful throughout the whole date changing process. I was also an out of town bride, and they made communication a breeze. From the moment we booked Homewood, to the moment we left on our wedding night, everyone there was beyond great. And of course the setting is absolutely stunning.
I had my wedding at Homewood in May. It was beautiful -- all the guests loved the venue. Lee-Ann (the main contact) was a wonderful professional and I can't say more about how gr...
eat she was helping me & how quickly she would respond to questions. The venue looked amazing all lit up at night (the candle package was worth it). The only downfall was the chairs at the ceremony are on a small hill -- therefore many of my guests were joking about how they thought they were going to fall out of their chairs. I wouldn't recommend more than 150 people for this venue -- we had 150 and it was a perfect fit -- any more and it would have been too snug.
The staff at Homewood are very friendly and detail oriented. They kept everything running smoothly and helped us think about details we would have otherwise overlooked. Since I did...
not use a planner, I was in the dark about logistics of how all of the vendors coordinate and when/how to set up, but Julie and Monroe really made it easy.
loved it
I used Homewood as my venue for my wedding on April 5th 2013. I wanted a venue that we could do the ceremony and reception all inside. Julie and Monroe were great to work with and ...
all my guests kept commenting on how beautiful Homewood is. Everything turned out great and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding. I would highly recommend Homewood if you are trying to find a venue in Asheville, NC.
This was my dream come true! The Homewood is one of the most beautiful, romantic locations you could ask for. I chose them because of the rustic, enchanted theme of the venue, bu...
t more importantly they had an on-site outdoor ceremony spot which is hard to come by in actual Asheville proper. The staff, especially Monroe and Julie, are perfectionists and even had I missed a detail, they had it covered. The ONLY complaint I can think of is we had a late September wedding and the room was quite warm and a lot of our guests were commenting on it. I myself was too warm, but tried not to think about it because of how amazing everything else was! Their passion and attentiveness proved that their top goal was to provide the perfect event and that's exactly what they did! BRAVO!
Despite the high price tag, the venue was just beautiful. we were supposed to have an outdoor wedding, but due to rain were moved inside, but it still all came together beautifully...
. Were told that staff would coordinate caterer, etc, but did not make themselves available for questions during the reception.
Beautiful setting. They said their host would help to choreograph the event, particularly the procession. They unfortunately did not cue the musicians and they began playing the ...

They also did not honor their agreement regarding the payment for services. A gorgeous setting, but in the end, they seemed more interested in the money than your satisfaction.
The Homewood was our reception venue, and everything was perfect! From the beginning of the planning, our coordinator was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The decor ended up f...
