Honey Strings, based in Kalamazoo, MI, is your ideal choice for breathtaking ceremony music that is as memorable as it is magical. Imagine full-sounding arrangements complete with layers of lush harmonies and melodies welcoming your guests as they settle in for the ceremony, all somehow magically played by one violinist.
Each package includes prelude music, which is the ~30m before your ceremony begins, and this is the music playing while your guests meander on over to the ceremony area, perhaps exchange some light greetings, and settle in for the ceremony.
Then, when the processional is ready to begin, we can have specific excerpts of pieces to accompany different parts of the processional, including the bridal processional, which I am happy to accompany with any song you like, worked into a custom strings arrangement.
And if there are any audio needs during the ceremony, I will already have a full PA (speaker) system set up, and I will provide you with a wireless mic for use during the ceremony. If you have any other audio needs during the ceremony, I am happy to cue up recordings to play and that sort of thing.
At the end of the ceremony, I accompany your first kiss as a married couple with a flourish of sound and an upbeat tune to send you on your way! And I'll continue playing as guests head to their next location.
If you so choose, I'm also happy to stay and play for the cocktail hour! Generally, I am playing covers of popular songs from varying genres, but in a sort of "Bridgerton" way (If you are familiar with the music of the show. Essentially, they are like string-quartet versions of popular songs. Oftentimes, guests will play "guess the song" because I am playing the melodies and chords, but not the lyrics, and it is so much fun to see guests light up when they figure out what song is being played!
I have performed hundreds of weddings, and I would be happy to help you to make sure your music will be an absolute hit. You are welcome to be as hands-on or hands-off as you would like to be. I have full sets of music that I know work really well, but I'm also happy to customize them with the songs that are meaningful to you!

My favorite part of being a musician is when you create those special moments with people… like when someone comes up to you and shares that the song you just played moved them to tears because it reminds them of someone who used to be in their life, or you see somebody light up when they realize the arrangement you’re playing is actually a song by their favorite artist.
I am a classical musician by training- I have a Master's degree in music performance, and I also have a passion for many other types of music. I perform regularly in orchestras, pop/folk bands, my own solo live-looping project, I teach, and I do studio recording.
