My husband and I recently got married at Honors Haven. We planned our wedding in 6 months. We chose Honors Haven because of the location and the breath taking view of Wedding Islan...
d. From the start, James, the sales manager was great. He answered all of our questions within a responsible amount of time. Our ceremony on Wedding Island was absolutely stunning. The tent set up was beautiful and worked out well for our 110 guest. We had cocktail hour inside due to weather which caused my husband and I not to see the set up or have the food since my we were taking pictures outside. We were able to take pictures at the waterfall which was something I really hoped to do. The wedding suite that was provided for us on our wedding day/night was a two level room which made getting ready with the bridesmaids convenient. On the other hand the "upgraded room" we received for one of our guest which we used for the groom and groomsmen to get ready in was so small they couldn't move around in it. Our guest had a hard time booking online and getting thru to a receptionist on the phone to book rooms. The resort was very outdated and the guest rooms were over priced. The rooms were smaller than an average hotel room and many guest had to upgrade due to standard rooms being sold out. There were many additional cost like a fridge and having more than 2 guest in a room that we didn't know about. The hallways had a smell to them and the outdoor pool had no water in it. The food for breakfast, cocktail hour, and the reception wasn't anything to rave about. We only had 1 guest compliment their dinner. We were disappointed with the food especially since the wedding package was pricey. The package did include open bar which was a plus. People did say how delicious the cake was which was also included in the package and made by Pastry Gardens. We didn't add any enhancements that we wanted too due to the outrageous prices ( ex: $6 per person for smores.) We received a wedding coordinator 2 weeks prior to the wedding and we were previously told we'd receive one right when we booked the venue. Don't get me wrong we had a wonderful wedding; ceremony on wedding island was perfect and we had a blast with our guest. We just feel guilty and embarrassed that our guest spent a lot of money and the resort didn't match the value.
The whole team at honors haven was a blessing to work with. All my questions where answered quickly and every conversation had an email recap. Naomi, Sarah, Grace, Peter and Tania ...
where all wonderful! The food was delicious the day flowed perfectly and all my guest always had a drink in hand. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding
Our wedding was wonderful. We did have some problems described in another review about hearing back from people in a timely manner during the planning phase, but that was due to s...
ome staff changes. Overall, they provided a wonderful day of coordinator who helped make everything come together smoothly. Our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the service they received. Lots of people commented on how beautiful the island and the view was. Many of our guests enjoyed staying at the resort and exploring the property, booking spa treatments, and checking out the area. We had a great day and we would highly recommend Honor's Haven to other couples looking for a beautiful venue with wonderful service.
Honors Haven is a place the most haven’t heard of but it definitely a beautiful venue. My husband and I fell in love instantly when visiting and decided after the second visit to b...
ook this venue for our wedding in September. With about six months leading up to the wedding I started emailing people but either didn’t get responses or waited a long time.we became pretty worried with the management at this point, we were constantly told that someone would be getting in touch with us shortly, we were given many different names it was kinda a nightmare. Finally we received an email from a wedding coordinator about three months before the wedding. She was wonderful, very detailed, answered all my questions in a timely manner even on weekends. We were finally starting to feel a little better about things. However this didn’t last too long, about two weeks before the wedding this coordinator all of a sudden disappeared and someone else had started emailing us. We became worried again but we were assured that everything would turn out wonderful and would have nothing to worry about. They were right, once we arrived at the resort the day before the wedding we met with James and Matthew who were with us for the entire weekend. All of our worries were gone immediately, James went over every detail with us to make sure that we had nothing to worry about on our wedding day. With the wedding day here every detail and obstacle was handled perfectly by James as the day went on. With about two hours to the ceremony I had realized that the florist never brought Petals for the flower girl, James was notified and we were told not to worry about it and he somehow got us beautiful petals. I know it’s not much but it’s the small things that make a difference. Also with about fifteen minutes to the ceremony we had realized that the officiant had not arrived yet, James had come up with a plan super quick. James told us that if the officiant didn’t show that Matt was ordained and it would not be a problem, thankfully our officiant did show. Needless to say our wedding day was wonderful, everything was perfect down to the last detail. The only reason that we gave four starts and not five is because of the management, they need to communicate more.
Our same-sex wedding was a smashing hit from start to finish. People were amazed with the landscape and the beauty of the property, Honor’s Haven is a bit of a diamond in the rough...
and in our opinion, was a great find. The event planning and food service staff were professional and super helpful. While we are still beaming over our ceremony, reception and after party, we would have enjoyed higher quality amenities.
We had booked two massages at 11am on Sunday only to discover that we would have been separated into two 50 minute sessions. This would have prevented us from enjoying other amenities on the property before check out. The spa staff seemed unapologetic. We visited the outdoor pool which seemed to be missing water. Although, there were plenty of towels and seating and the upgraded restroom facilities were very nice.
The presidential suite is beautiful. It, too, can use some updating, but it was spacious and well appointed. It worked perfectly for our stay and photo shoot while dressing for the wedding. The multi head shower was fully functional and very relaxing. The sliding door to the patio needs to be cleaned immediately and replaced soon. After our ceremony and reception, the romantic bed decor and champagne and strawberries were a welcomed and delicious surprise.
Upon arrival the bellhops were sitting on the curb staring at their phones. We’re not one to use bellhops, so we declined their service anyway. They did bring us a cart. They can use some training on welcoming guests and customer service in general. Reception was friendly.
At home, we are awesome party planners. It was so wonderful to not have to execute this one. We can’t tell you how many times we were asked, “do you need anything?” This was the event of our lifetime and we’re not sure when we’ll stop smiling. You all are to be thanked for pulling off such a successful event.
My husband and I stayed overnight at Honors Haven a few months ago and decided that instead of eloping, we just HAD TO get married there! We got married last week and had a small w...
edding party but every single person who was there simply raved about our wedding and about Honors Haven to all. From the grounds themselves to the picturesque mountains in the background, the entire place is simply gorgeous. There is so much to do there (from swimming, sauna, spa, basketball, tennis, dancing, roasting marshmallows on the firepit, etc etc. that we simply didn't have time to do it all. Our wedding was spectacular and the staff was amazing, catering to and anticipating our every need. James and Shannon were especially incredible, the food was great, our suite was spectacular, and we simply cannot give enough praise to Honors Haven and to our entire experience there. They helped make our wedding day one we will never forget! Tammy & Jon, Long Island, NY
I cannot say enough about Honor's Haven. From the moment I made the initial appointment to the day after the wedding and beyond, they are fabulous! Not one complaint. The people th...
at work there are all very professional, they listen, they do what they say they are going to do, and they are very friendly. All of my e-mails and phone calls were answered within 24 hours. They make everything stress free. I guess the top tier of my cake toppled off and they fixed it before the reception....I would never had known if someone didn't tell me. They are the true meaning of professional customer service.
The grounds are gorgeous. We had a small (40 ppl
) wedding so we had the back dining room that overlooks the golf course and a pond. The views are amazing. They have bigger rooms for bigger events that I saw and those are beautiful too. They just renovated everything and it's gorgeous. Everywhere you look in the hotel and the grounds, it's beautiful.
The food was so good! Everybody that came to wedding raved about the food for weeks. Nobody got sick, which is always a plus. The food also looked beautiful. They have an amazing breakfast also. I tried everything and I did not eat one thing I didn't like and I am a very picky eater.
We didn't have our ceremony there (we had a church) but they have some beautiful locations for ceremonies.
Like I said before, I cannot rave enough about Honor's Haven. I hope I didn't forget to say anything. I literally do not have one complaint. I stayed there for two nights (the night before and the night of) and their rooms are gorgeous too. Pools (inside and out) are wonderful. They have a spa that I did not get to use but I spoke with other people who have used it and they highly reccomend it. The hotel has so many perks and amenities I reccomend staying one night longer than planned so you can experience it all.
I heard that they do not do more than 2 events in the same day which is sooo nice, you have no idea how much of a problem that can be if there are too many things going on. They really love to concentrate on you and what you want and they make it happen! One of the best qualities of Honor's Haven is that they follow through!
The hotel is also in a very nice, quiet, and peaceful area. You don't hear any traffic or kids screaming or anything.
On a scale from 1 to 10 I am 100+++% satisfied with every aspect of Honor's Haven. I am so happy I found it and I hope they make someone else's day truely special like they did for me.
