Her kind and professional demeanor makes her so easy to be around, and she quickly became more than just our coordinator—she became a dear friend.
Lillian was incredibly accommodating, always scheduling meetings around the Bride, Mother of the Bride, and even the Groom’s schedules. She kept a detailed book with every piece of information about our event and personally contacted each vendor to confirm details on our behalf. The countless hours she invested into making our day perfect showed her true dedication and passion.
Booking Lillian was by far the best investment we made for the entire wedding.

We got married at Hope Barn and Gardens on November 9th, 2024, and it was truly a day that we will never forget: From the Beautiful Lawn in the back where our Ceremony took place all the way to the Elegant Barn inside where we had our Reception, everything was just absolutely perfect. This is a truly wonderful place to have a Wedding, all the staff are truly on top of things, prompt and available to ensure that we as the Bride and Groom were taken care of on our most special day. Janine Winchester is the venue Events Director, and she is just wonderful and truly cares about her clients. We opted into the Wedding Coordinator package provided by DECOR BY LILLY (Lillian Tovar) and she was just absolutely amazing to have: she truly took care of us through everything over the 1 year we spent planning everything leading up to our big day. Lillian is truly a Jack-of-all-Trades that will ensure nothing is forgotten for her clients (the Bride & Groom) and that everything is planned well-ahead of time in preparation for the big day. We cannot recommend her enough if you want to ensure your Wedding day becomes a dream come true!

ave been one of the most meaningful days of our bride and groom’s lives was overshadowed by unprofessional, rude, and discourteous behavior from staff.
We chose this venue not only for the space, but because it is a church—yet the treatment we received did not reflect those values. A staff member spoke disrespectfully to family members who were simply helping with setup, and responded impatiently and snappily when concerns were calmly addressed. During breakdown, guests who were helping were accused of taking tables and chairs, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. Several interactions felt discriminatory. They had biases that showed.
When I later shared this feedback with Hope Barns and Gardens, the response was dismissive and defensive, citing positive reviews instead of acknowledging our real experience. While they eventually came around and acknowledged some of their wrongs and said they would make certain changes, the damage to what should have been a beautiful day was already done. And the professionalism still lacked! My advice Keep looking!

on the events of the day, as several issues arose that were not reflected in those accounts.
Regarding the timeline, we discussed during their final walk through that check-in time was scheduled for 1pm. However, approximately six guests arrived at 11:30am. When they could not enter until 12:45, they became upset with my staff. I understand being prompt, but arriving 90 minutes before the allotted time creates significant logistical challenges. Additionally, my staff had to ask several times for the vehicles parked in the fire lane/unloading only lane to be moved, but those requests were dismissed.
I also want to clarify that no one on our staff accused your guests of stealing. When three tables were moved from the tent by mistake, a staff member simply noted that they belonged to HB&G.
Finally, alcohol was brought into the Bungalow, which is a violation of our policy. My staff had to intervene to remind the group that all alcohol must be served directly from the bar.
We strive to provide a positive experience for all our clients and hope this clarifies the situation from our team's perspective.

d perfect experience. Their mission is for the couple and truly made us feel like family. Plus, the ceremony space/ garden and barn is Pinterest ready! I would highly recommend this venue to any bride.
In addition, Lillian was the best partner ever for a wedding. We hired her as our event coordinator and she surpassed all our expectations. She knows the venue like the back of her hand, is extremely organized, professional, and creative. She helped work on our vision, timeline, decorated, and so much more. She had all the answers to questions, and thought of and is planned for everything. Even when my dress was stepped on by a guest and ripped in the middle of the wedding night, without hesitation she grabbed her sewing kit and quickly adjusted my dress so no one noticed. Truly my wedding day was absolutely perfect because of Lillian. She isn't just an event coordinator but a true asset and made the wedding planning process wonderful. I would highly recommend.

ds can truly express! Janine Winchester and her Hope Barn & Gardens team were easy to get in contact with to schedule a tour of the venue. Janine was responsive where she answered any and all questions we had at any given time. Janine was also on-site the day-of our wedding (you get a day of coordinator with the venue), and she helped keep everything on track.
The venue itself is beautiful with its green grass, big trees, and modern barn feel. It is a venue that is perfect whether you are wanting outdoor or indoor accommodations for your wedding day (or both like we did!). When my maid of honor and I showed up to the venue day-of, we had a big, comfortable house that is on the property to get ready, and shake out all the pre-ceremony jitters ;) Matthew, my husband and his best man had a quaint room inside the barn for getting ready where they could also relax. The views, the guest hangout spots, the beauty of the modern barn...this venue really has it ALL!
There are two other vendors that are recommended with the venue that we used, and our special day would not have been the same without them. The first one being our wedding coordinator, Lillian Tovar whose business is "Decor by Lilly." Lillian is a true professional, and let me tell you...she gets things DONE and done in a way that goes beyond what you could ever imagine! Lillian is so creative and passionate about what she does. I am convinced that she has fairy dust with her at all times, because everything she touches is magic! During our wedding preparations, she had frequent meetings with us, did email check-ins, made the venue EXTRA gorgeous, and was also with us the day of our wedding. There is truly nothing she cannot do. She is worth every penny (and then some!!!).
The other vendor we used for our food was Butcher Block Catering. Michael Winchester is the owner and chef of this incredible company. Michael met with us prior to the wedding where we discussed our options, and planned everything out with us. He is a true artist with food, and food with FLAVOR! He also pays great attention to detail, and did not miss a beat when it came to our food. I cannot tell you how many of our guests came up to my parents, Matthew and I just raving about every item he prepared! He has many offerings, but we went with Italian-style and he also did our happy hour appetizers.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5. When Matthew and I reflect back on our special wedding day, we talk about how it was perfect due to being at Hope Barn & Gardens and the vendors I talked about above. We are forever grateful to the team at Hope Barn & Gardens. Thank you!!

time the big day came. We chose Lillian Tovar as our wedding coordinator and hiring her was by far the best decision we could have made during the planning process. She knows every detail to discuss and plan out beforehand. As the bride, she kept me on schedule and communicated with me weekly about wedding tasks. By the time the big day came, I felt confident in her abilities and did not stress the entire day. Lillian is worth every penny!

perfect for my bridesmaids and I to get ready in. The venue allowed us to bring in all our on vendors (with some suggestions) and we loved making our day exactly what I wanted. However the reason I cannot give this place a higher score was the staff. The day before the wedding at our rehearsal, we decided to make the change to having our ceremony and reception all inside due to excessive heat warning (which when we booked this date we were understanding usually it was not this hot this time of year), however AZ has had an unusually late and HOT summer. We had elderly guests and myself (the bride) was 10 weeks pregnant and the temperature outside for the 30-45 minutes ceremony was going to be too much and unsafe. At first the coordinator/event staff that was there helping us at rehearsal was agreeable to it, but before our hour was up, that staff member had gotten her boss on the phone and she requested to speak to me. Her boss was rather short and aggressive with me and was upset that we made this change. However I understand that heat is not the same as rain, but if it was raining it would have been a no-brainer to move the ceremony inside. When we booked this venue they said it was possible to do both inside if we wanted to and that it would be no issue. But when we did make that change I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism by the staff. I would like to say the poor interaction stopped there, however on the day of the wedding the single event staff that was there overseeing our set up was rude to my family that was helping set up decore. She kept making comments such as "this is why you don't get married in the summer in AZ" to my family. Again unprofessional and was no way beneficial to the situation. The last piece that was frustrating was around 8:30 pm (we had paid per hour to be there till 10pm), that same staff member started to clean up and condense center pieces, fold chairs and put aware decoration. I understand waning to be efficient, however, certain things like removing decore and folding chairs makes people feel like they have to leave and we still paid for 1.5 hours to be there and we were going to use all of it.
Overall, it was a great day and we had the time of our lives . Our family was rockstars and personally set up, rearranged and torn down the event by themselves. However the professionalism and organizational skills of the staff needs a gentle refresher in those aspects. I would have appreciated a kinder approach to the situation in an already short and stressful weekend.

y last minute changes due to weather and are mindful how hot it is still in September. Some changes can be made right away while other big changes take longer with all the logistics involved. I explained that a traditional flip would require your guests to be outside in the heat longer than they would be for the ceremony and since that is what you wanted to avoid the only other option was the way we setup the tables and you agreed to that. It's not our practice to initiate strike before 10pm. My team member saw others starting that process and was just trying to be helpful.

cycles going by. Fountains are a nice idea but water noise is easily picked up by microphones, so we had to ask to turn them off and they honored our request. They are slow to respond to emails and voice messages. I've copied my daughter on 2 emails this evening and they don't know how to respond to all. I've had to forward the last 2 emails to my daughter to keep her informed. This was my oldest daughter's wedding and my youngest daughter was married in November 2022 at a different venue. The other venue in November 2022 was better from a personal perspective but was more costly. The other venue's personnel were easily reached and returned emails and voice mails the same day. I was not as involved in this daughter's wedding at Hope Barn and Gardens but during the rehearsal dinner, I just didn't feel the connection with the staff. While this might seem like a budget venue, by the time you bring in your own DJ, Photographers, cake, etc... it was only a few thousand dollars cheaper than the other venue. Make sure to do your homework before you book with any wedding venue. My biggest complaint about this venue is that it took them 6 days to "report" a stain that we do not recall. The bridal party was very careful with any food or drinks they brought in and apparently there was a stain we caused that will apparently take $150 to clean professionally. The picture they just sent me was taken today, 3/21/2023, at 9:33am and is a very large stain. A stain that large, we would have seen it and reported it ourselves. Not to mention that it's 6 days after the fact. Anyone in our shoes would question the validity of the stain especially when they had 3 events last week. I hope they will change their procedures going forward as I highly recommended they survey, take pictures, write description, and send a damages email the very next day after the wedding, NOT 6 days later. At this point, it's their word against ours while other events took place but that stain was not there in the bridal suite when we left the venue, so I guess I'm stuck paying the $150 cleaning fee out of our deposit. My wife and others even shook the rugs outside to get the glitter out, took the trash out, and put in new trash bags. You have been informed. Choose wisely.

They both communicated so wonderfully with us throughout the wedding planning process, and they were quick to answer any questions that we had. Our wedding day at Hope Barn & Gardens was so special, and the flow of the day went so well. This venue will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and I’d recommend it to any couples looking for a venue for their special day.

are by a moment… and can I just say that we had a ton of moments where we would look around the venue on our wedding day all we could say is WOW! In fact I think that most I have ever heard this word in one day was on our wedding day from the combination of myself, my wife, my family, and my guests consistently saying WOW when talking about our wedding day at Hope Barn & Gardens!!
We absolutely loved getting to make use of this unique space because its simplicity creates such elegance. Janine the coordinator makes this clear from the get go and is constantly assuring us that there is no need to stress because she so confidently helps make sure that our setup and our day is both simple and elegant . Looking back she was right and those two things did end up being more true than I could have ever imagined.
This venue is only going to continue to become more and more of a hit for just a few of the following reasons:
Guests loved being able to enjoy the ceremony & reception in the same place (Indoor/outdoor use)
We loved the freedom to mix the existing list of recommended vendors (all of whom were great) + our own vendors that we knew
They have a great relationship with a local hotel that was willing to shuttle & take care of our out of town guests to and from the venue (Hilton)
We received a huge help and tons of confidence from Janine (venue coordinator) throughout our planning and day of experience in making our dreams become a reality to fit our specific needs!

enue was going to be too small for the amount of people that RSVP'd. From the first moment to the last Janine was kind, supportive and encouraging. Hope Barn & Gardens is a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony (my daughter's ceremony was held elsewhere due to deposits already paid) and a reception. The weather that day was quite windy, cloudy and cool and thankfully Janine set out heaters outside for the guests that wanted to hang out outside during the reception. This venue was a dream come true and I am so thankful they had an opening last minute. Thank you Janine and your team for everything! I will never forget how wonderful the entire day was!

anine, the manager was so easy to work with. She was flexible and accommodating. It truly showed that she wanted the best for my daughter's wedding day! this venue was great for that. The grass was beautiful as well as the trees. We loved the mountains in the background, and the cobblestone. The indoor space for the ceremony was rustic and elegant. The guest house was gorgeous and accommodated my wife and her bridesmaids perfectly. It also worked well for having a quite space to relax during the reception. One of my favorite things about this venue is that my wife and I were able to make our dream wedding a reality because of the large space and flexibility. There were so many options with the arrangements which made it fun to plan how our big day would look like. In the end, it was better than expected. I woud absolutely recommend this place if you want a picturesque barn and garden wedding. I highly doubt you'll regret it! Plus, it was pretty affordable for us compared to other places. :)
