We wish we could give Hotel 50 Bowery a better review but honestly, our experience was mediocre at best. They are quite unresponsive, initially we had inquired about using them as ...
a possible wedding venue; we used their website to contact them, emailed them directly and even called the hotel. No one got back to us until a few months later…when we had already booked a venue. However, we gave them another chance and decided to use them as our room block. The hotel itself is nice and modern and it is in a good location. Once we were connected with someone, things went a bit smoother, up until a few weeks before the wedding. I think they’re going through a transitional period (I believe they either got acquired by Hyatt or joined with them?) A lot of the rooms under the block got lost during this period, we were able to add them back to the block. But all of the perks of a room block with the hotel were unable to be honored because the rooms were booked with Hyatt directly, which wasn’t a huge deal since we weren’t staying there ourselves. The final breaking points came the week of the wedding. We had been transferred over to another person to be in charge of the block. There seemed to be a lot of miscommunication. I had shipped items for welcome bags to the hotel (after getting an okay from them) and there was a lot of trouble locating them. They even accidently gave away my water bottles, although they replaced them. In addition, the groom’s parents who were the first to check in, did not receive the welcome bags after I was reassured everything will go smoothly moving forward. At this point, I’m not even sure the remainder of the guests received their bags. I think overall Hotel 50 Bowery is a nice hotel, the staff there seemed friendly the times I’ve visited. There just seems to be a lot of kinks to work out and it was frustrating at times to work with them. I think they do have a lot of potential in the future once the transitional period is over.
We used 50 Bowery as our wedding block hotel and I cannot tell you how helpful Leah Gabel and the entire team at 50 Bowery were. The hotel is stunning and they did everything they ...
could to make our stay super special as well as our guests. We will definitley be back - possibly one year anniversary. The hotel is super modern, has everything you could need including the breathtaking roof terrace.
This team is the ultimate A-team for the wedding of your dreams!
My husband and I were excited to learn about this new hotel and decided to have our wedding here, on May 13th. The ...
hotel had just opened a week before and to be honest, we didn't know what to expect. I have to say now that it was the best decision we made for the wedding.
The weeks leading up was organized by the hotel's coordinators, Leah and Gene. They could not have been more helpful, from organizing the layout of the venue to the passed hors d'oeuvres for the ceremony - everything was perfection and so beautifully curated.
SERVICE - For a new hotel, I am so pleased by the level of service and attention to detail that went into my wedding day. Unfortunately, that day was raining cats and dogs but the situation was handled like a pro. The staff were all lined up with umbrellas to make sure our guests were dry. They also helped set up a super stable tent to shield us. Also, the general manager made sure I had everything I needed, including last minute steamers and take-out for the hungry bridesmaids. Now that's service!
AMBIENCE - My husband and I stayed in the bowery suite and it was just magical. We arrived back to our hotel room late at night and the staff had surprised us with all these treats including an embroidered pillowcases with our initials, flowers and late night snacks. The hotel is such a gem in the neighborhood with the perfect balance of chic, playfulness and luxury. The decor is beautifully done and the rooms are inviting, colorful and has the most amazing views.
AMENITIES - First of all, you're never going to have a view like Hotel 50 Bowery. My husband and I had our breakfast at the rooftop overlooking all of Manhattan. There's nothing like it. The shared work spaces are also pretty cool. There's a pop up gallery in collaboration with the Museum of Chinese in America located on the 2nd floor, so you can learn about the rich history of the neighborhood.
Overall, Hotel 50 Bowery is unlike any other hotel. The team really goes out of their way to make it extra special and there's a reason why they're on the top of the list on Trip Advisor.com. I'd highly recommend this space for events and weddings, without a doubt.
