Extremely Disappointing Experience with Front Office Manager
I recently had an appalling experience at Hotel AKA Boston Common due to the behavior of the front office manager, Cal...
vin Napoleone Cherry. I was attempting to pay for a room for my guest, and Calvin not only argued with me about the need to sign a credit card authorization for a room already charged to my American Express card, but he also charged my guest's card in addition to mine.
When I questioned this double charge, Calvin dismissively said, "I am not going to talk to you." His attitude was shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful. As someone who has traveled extensively around the world, I can confidently say he is one of the most unprofessional front office managers I have ever encountered.
Calvin’s behavior reflects poorly on the AKA brand, which I had expected to uphold high standards of customer service. His lack of basic courtesy and professionalism, combined with his argumentative nature, makes him a very poor representative of the hotel. I strongly recommend that Calvin seek training in customer service—or perhaps even professional help if personal issues are affecting his work performance.
I hope the management of Hotel AKA Boston Common addresses this issue promptly to ensure future guests do not endure such a disappointing experience.
I am so happy with our decision to choose Nine Zero Hotel for a hotel block for our wedding in May 2015. Nine Zero was always responsive and incredibly helpful, from my first email...
s with Lauren Souder to gather details and finalize the contract to my constant correspondence with Lynn Polito throughout wedding planning, when I was curious about who had yet booked rooms. They usually responded to my emails in an hour or less! Nine Zero really went above and beyond in special touches for our group. They upgraded our room from a Premier Queen to a Skyline King, which worked out really great for my getting ready pictures. They also upgraded my groom’s room to enjoy the night before our wedding. Lynn had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to our room! She even delivered cheese and wine to my parents room! The hotel itself was beautiful, fun, and funky. Our guests loved it! And the hosted wine hour worked out well as a cheap option for a welcome drink with our guests. There were many locations throughout the hotel to use for pictures. We even had our First Look in the Highball Lounge, and the pictures turned out amazing! There was only one snafu in that one of our guests never received their welcome bag that was to be delivered, but otherwise everything went great! Thank you Nine Zero for helping to make our wedding weekend a success!
