Courtney and the Bellwether team ensured that we would have the best day of all. Food was fantastic and everything looked beautiful. The Lighthouse suite is also amazing and worth the investment! Highly recommend ❤️
Working with Courtney and her team at the Hotel Bellwether was such a breeze! She had endless patience with my millions of questions and emails and backup plans of backup plans. The venue made a gorgeous spot for both our ceremony and reception. The costs for the space was great, and the food cost wasn’t awful. We got so many compliments on the quality of the food and the space itself. Thank you for being so accommodating for our small Sunday brunch wedding!
We are so impressed by the service and thankful we had our wedding at the Bellwether! From the beginning of our engagement up to the wedding, the Bellwether went above and beyond to create the perfect experience for us and our guests. We had many friends and family visiting from out of town and they were impressed with the service and beauty of the hotel. Many of our guests had never been to Washington but were able to see the amazing views from the terrace where we hosted a cocktail hour before the reception in the ballroom.
The wedding tasting was excellent. Chef Michael also took time to speak with us about dishes we were interested in, including a special request for my favorite late night snack, a french-fry bar, that he was happy to create for us.
We worked with Hillary to finalize details for the cocktail hour and dinner. She kept in good contact with us throughout our wedding planning and was very responsive to any questions. The weekend of the wedding she did an excellent job accommodating to requests from our guests, and during our dinner reception she made sure we were having a great time, well fed and ready with a drink in hand to toast with guests.
I stayed in the Lighthouse suite before the big day. The kitchenette was great for making sure everyone had something to eat and place to relax before the ceremony, and the top floor with 360 degree windows was perfect lighting for hair and makeup with my bridemaids. We also had the Lighthouse suite again after the reception and you just can't beat waking up to views of Bellingham Bay on your first morning as a married couple.
The Bellwether had also worked with many of our other vendors. It was nice to know our cake bakery, DJ, and photographer were very comfortable working there.
At the top of our list was planning a wedding that would be a great experience for our guests. Seeing the people we love smiling and laughing put a smile on our faces the entire day. The staff at the Bellwether do an incredible job taking care of all the little pieces that are needed to create a perfect day!
Excellent experience - from day one when we inquired about using the facility to days after the event when we received thank you's from the staff and management. We highly recommend. Several of our guests commented that it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to! Thanks so much Bellewether Hotel!
Hotel Bellwether was absolutely perfect in every way for our wedding day! The venue is of course, breathtaking with marina and island views. Amazing food and drink options for guests. The staff went above and beyond for us every step of the wedding planning. Renea was so helpful in coordinating along with providing great recommendations of vendors. I would recommend Hotel Bellwether for any event, you will be more than thrilled!
I originally booked my hotel room and a block of rooms here because it was so close to my venue. But the service the staff at this hotel provided was just astounding. They gave great rates for our guests, and they gave me two nights in the best suite for $600 (which seems like a lot, but the room and service provided was well worth it). At check in they gave me complimentary champagne and unloaded my car and took everything to the room for me. When I entered the room there was a sweet card signed by the whole staff wishing me luck on my upcoming nuptials, more champagne, and a platter of fresh fruit. The day of my wedding was a classic PNW day. Every day before and after was cold, yet sunny and clear, but my wedding day was raining and windy. Even though I was not getting married at the hotel, the staff allowed me, the bridal party, my guests, and photographers basically take over the place so that we could still get beautiful pictures without having to brave the weather. They also allowed us to check out two hours after the regular check out time so that we could enjoy a relaxing first day as a married couple!
We started our honeymoon at the Hotel Bellwether. We live near Bellingham and never gave this place a second thought. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The rooms were very well kept and clean. Each room had several amenities such as a fireplace and a soaker tub.
We found a new place for our long weekends.
I did not have a room block here due to it being a very busy time of year. But several of our guest had rooms here including myself, my bridesmaids, and my husband and I. Everyone was extremely happy.
We had one of the largest suites and it was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this room for anyone getting married and looking to stay here. And the personal touches the staff did for us were so nice. Hand written cards, fruit plates, and champaign. It was so worth the money!
From start to finish, we loved working with the Hotel Bellwether staff. We stumbled upon the Bellwether one day last October when we were looking for the perfect wedding venue. After a trip to Semiahmoo and deciding it wasn't for us (beautiful as it is!) my fiance said "there has to be something in Bellingham" and 10 minutes later we were en route to the Bellwether. We met with Jim, the general manager and he showed us around! Explained where the ceremony would take place, showed us the reception space, etc. We fell in love with the European charm of the hotel (we were engaged in Scotland, so it took us back!) and really enjoyed that it was halfway between Seattle and Vancouver (he has family in Vancouver). Most of all, we loved the unique elegance, gorgeous views, and customer service at the Bellwether.
The day of our wedding was perfect. The staff worked with me on my specific wants and needs and our ceremony and reception spaces were gorgeous. Everything was set up exactly how we described, the staff was lovely, and the food was amazing! We opted for a buffet and sometimes when you go to a wedding that is a buffet dinner, it's very basic looking. Not here! The salads and food were beautifully presented, I was in awe! My husband (!!) and I were even given a personal staff member to help us carry our plates to our table, get us drinks, etc. Thanks Jordan, you were amazing!
We have received countless compliments about the food, service, stay, etc. Our guests had the best time, they loved the beautiful rooms! Many of them even commented that they would have to return and spend some time at the Bellwether!
All in all, we were all so pleased with our wedding. Our unique requests were granted, no problem and we worked with very nice people. My husband and I couldn't be more happy with how our wedding went. It was everything we imagined it to be and more.
Thank you to the Hotel Bellwether's amazing staff for working so hard to make our day perfect. We are so excited to return and spend some more time there, just to relax :)
This location is stunning! After my first venue was cancelled I booked at the Hotel Bellwether and truly believe it was a blessing in disguise to end up with my wedding being held here. The staff is so friendly and accommodating (even upgrading me to the Lighthouse Suite for one of the nights!), their rooms are beautiful, and the location and backdrop are hard to beat. The food was absolutely amazing at the reception and they even helped us to host a Seahawks farewell brunch the next morning. I would highly recommend getting married at the Hotel Bellwether!
The Bellwether was the perfect place for our wedding. The view was beautiful and could not be found anywhere else. Also, the staff was amazing. They helpful, professional, and personable. Our wedding was planned to be an outdoor wedding. It was raining that day and the owner came and told us that if it stopped raining even 5 minutes before the ceremony was going to start, his staff would set up the outdoor seating in time. They were all so great! The only downfall was that all catering had to be done through them. The food was great! But also very expensive. If we could have had an outside vendor, we would have saved a lot of money!
