Hotel Canandaigua

We had our wedding reception and farewell breakfast at Hotel Canandaigua in August 2024 and we also had our whole bridal party stay there and use the presidential suite as the getting ready area for the girls. Overall, I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a venue that can accommodate a lot of people, has both indoor and outdoor options, full-service (ceremony, reception, and hotel stay), and lake views/lake access. The reception venue itself was perfect. Very spacious and functional. The staff was very nice and accommodating too. They communicated any issues well and also let us make a few special requests without added cost. The food was also amazing. We had guests telling us how much they loved their meals weeks afterwards. The presidential suite was a perfect space. It had a full bedroom, huge bathroom, and large living area where me, my six bridesmaids, mom, and MIL got ready for the wedding. We had two hair and two make up people working in addition to the photographer and videographer and had enough room for everyone. The suite has a beautiful view of the lake and of the outdoor bar downstairs. We had a bit of crappy weather in the morning and cocktail hour was mainly indoors so we were glad we had a big area for that. The sun came out in the evening and we got amazing pictures on the dock right in front of the hotel. Only two negative things I have to say about our experience with Hotel Canandaigua. One is that they went through some staff changes during our planning process that wasn't communicated so we had a time where we were working with what seemed like a lot of people with no one taking the lead. Once that was figured out and we had one point person again, it was much better. Second is that some of their serving staff was rather young and seemed a bit inexperienced.

Our wedding at Hotel Canandaigua was spectacular! We dreamed of getting married on the water and this was the perfect location. Incredible views and a gorgeous hotel with beautiful spaces for all our events! We ended up hosting our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception at Hotel Canandaigua and we are so happy with how everything turned out. Noelle, the catering & sales manager, helped us through the whole process and Evan, our day of coordinator, worked his butt off to ensure the weekend went smoothly. Even though we were their first large wedding since opening in mid-2023, they handled everything professionally and ensured the day was everything we wanted it to be. We felt prioritized by everyone on the staff and everyone who worked at our wedding was so kind and helpful. The food at the rehearsal dinner & wedding was amazing (so many people complimented the food!) and the ballroom is so beautiful and unique - it doesn't feel like you're in a basic hotel ballroom. Plus, everyone utilized the gorgeous outdoor spaces during the cocktail hour & reception. The nearby Kershaw park & dock on the lake provide so many location options for photos so you can get a variety of shots without leaving the property. Our guests loved having the option to stay right at the hotel as well! We are so happy with our decision to host our wedding at Hotel Canandaigua and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in the Rochester/Finger Lakes region!
