We had the BEST stay at the Kimpton Fontenot! The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, the extra touches (like the beverage/snack bar in the afternoon) were so lovely and the rooms were luxurious and clean! That bed might be the most comfor...
table I’ve ever slept on. The location is perfect - you’re not directly on the busy/main streets so you have some reprieve; but you’re also a very close walk to all of the hustle and bustle! My travel partner and I kept joking that we wanted to live in the hotel (and attached coffee shop) because the experience was just so incredible. It felt like a much more expensive hotel stay than it actually was. Highly, highly recommend!

I LOVE THIS HOTEL. It is not only beautiful, but the inside smells amazing and everyone who works there is extremely kind. We were greeted with two free beers and a water. The bellhop brought our bags up to our room promptly and was insistent o...
n helping us with whatever we needed. I loved that there was a coffee shop downstairs! Free drip coffee in the morning. Free wine for "social hour" 5-6 PM. We had cocktails in the Peacock Room (which was my fave) and they were delicious! Loved staying here and totally would again. :)

This hotel has a nice boutique feeling to it. Great location, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. We had a good view of the two main bridges over the Mississippi river. There's also the peacock bar on the ground floor that has a good vibe to...
it and attracts a trendy crowd. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, and this was after a terrible meal elsewhere. Unfortunately, the maid accidentally broke one of my charging cables, and the hotel kindly credited me with $50 in compensation, which was unexpected but appreciated. I only had two small niggles about the place. Firstly, there were no coffee making facilities in the room, although the hotel provided complimentary tea and decent coffee downstairs opposite the reception area. The niggle about this service is that it only started at 7 am. Having arrived from the UK, my body clock was 6 hours ahead of local time, and it would have been nice to have had access to coffee a lot earlier than 7 am. The second niggle was the lack of free drinking water in the room. Spring water could be purchased in the room for $8 per bottle, which was rather excessive. Other than these observations, the rest of the stay was very pleasant and enjoyable.

Staying at Hotel Fontenot was a pleasure. The location is perfectly positioned between the French Quarter and the warehouse district. This provides ample dining choices either in the French Quarter, the Warehouse District or down Magazine Stree...
t into the Garden District. The on premises Peacock Room was also a fine choice.
However, what made my stay exceptional was the service by all the employees, but most importantly Mr. Ray. This man is a treasure and should be protected at all costs and rewarded handsomely. My daily interactions with him were something I looked forward to. He provided perfect recommendations, made sure travel accommodations were handled and spoke with such care that it was hard to leave. He was even nice enough to share his personal preferences for the best meatballs in all of New Orleans, which isn't something a lot of people associate with the City.
For nothing more than the chance to interact with Mr. Ray again I would stay at the Hotel Fontenot and recommend it for others.

Had an overall great experience at this hotel. The location is really great and not too noisy during the night. I felt that the rooms are starting to age and I had higher expectations. I got changed rooms because of the first one HVAC system ma...
de too much noise. The other room was nicer (and bigger) but there was a lot of unused space which felt kind of impersonal. I added some pictures of the room imperfections. The water pressure in the room was also not great and intermittent.
Otherwise, the staff was amazing. Friendly and helpful like NOLA people. This made up for the not-so-amazing rooms.
I had the breakfast option and the menu was kind of limited but good nonetheless.
I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a great value and prioritize hospitality over the hotel room quality.
