The rooftop of Hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa is a nice space. It has good views, lovely furniture and cute decorations. We had our reception there. We initially wanted our ceremony th...
ere but realized quickly that wouldn't be possible. My problems with Indigo had nothing to do with space and everything to do with customer service. We had searched high and low for an affordable place to have a wedding. We were never going to be able to have a super expensive wedding. When we found Indigo, we were excited because of the price and location. We were initially told they could move furniture for the ceremony without an issue and that we could have the whole place to ourselves without a time limit on the Sunday of our wedding because they were closed. After these conversations, we found out that they weren't willing to move things around for us and that they had decided to open on Sundays so we didn't have the time we thought. Not only that, we were charged once for incidentals which was a $4,000 incorrect charge that emptied my bank account and then we got charged for our wedding bar tab twice the day of our wedding, emptying my husband's bank account. Both mistakes were eventually fixed but not without hours of stress, phone calls, emails, etc. The catering options at the hotel are terrible. We ended up bringing in our own caterers but we tried multiple times to get a menu we liked with no response. Eventually they were rude about it. I began dealing with a person who was higher up. She was better equipped to deal with my needs and was nice but overall the event management at Hotel Indigo could definitely use some work. I had to plan my ceremony somewhere else which became a huge stress. On the wedding day, the bartender worked super hard and I appreciated that but felt there probably should have been two. We asked them to make sure we were charged for all beer and wine but later found out many of our friends paid for their own. Just a lot of messy mistakes that added a lot of stress. I think that in time, they will work out the kinks but right now, I wouldn't recommend it. Also, we were promised a complimentary stay at the hotel over a month ago…still waiting.
Beautiful facility, friendly staff, excellent rooftop bar! I would stay here ANYTIME!!
