ness is exceptional, the room was spotless, especially the bathroom. The entire building feels like a piece of art, filled with vintage details that really make you feel the history of San Francisco. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who loves charm, history, and character.

own waffles to cream cheese and bagels, toast, hard boiled eggs, muffins & cereal beverages were hot chocolate, tea, coffee, orange juice & water. I was unaware this was a haunted hotel. We did have a paranormal experience. My Granddaughter who is 12 thought it was cool. We were gone that evening to the ballet, and when we came back, we found one of our bathroom towels drenched the other was not also the top of our toilet seat cover was wet with water. We had the front desk person come take a look. It definitely was unexplained. Lisa who haunts this hotel is friendly. Great place to stay. 🫶

ess Ave cable car stop. Friendly staff! Room was charming. It had a slight smell at first, but it didn’t bother us for long at all. Our room had a lovely view, and a refrigerator, which was a plus. Breakfast was free (!) but basic. There were always hard boiled eggs for protein, but a warm option (scrambled eggs, meat) would have been nice. Finally, the hand painted elevator was a treat; love that there was a cute bug on the wall. Would happily stay here again!

Cons: The bed (mattress and linens) was very uncomfortable, and temperature control was a challenge. Heat is centrally controlled and the window AC unit didn’t work well, making the room too hot for good sleep. Breakfast could also use more variety—especially fruit and hot options like bacon or sausage. Overall: great space and location, but comfort—especially sleep quality—needs improvement.

hat our request for an upgrade was accommodated and the free breakfast was decent. Hotel is extremely dusty. Myself and my partner spent our vacation sneezing and congested but only while inside the hotel. I suspect curtains and canopies have not been cleaned in a very long time. Rooms also have very inconsistent features with some including vintage clawfoot tubs and others with modern inset tubs. Some rooms have liquid soaps, multiple robes and decent hair dryers while others have bar soap, no robes and hair dryers that don’t function. It seems like your experience at this hotel will be entirely a game of chance. This hotel is not the luxury experience that the pictures imply. I would recommend spending your time and money elsewhere.
