Hotel Metro went above and beyond for our 80person wedding! Laura was great to work with. If you’re having a smaller wedding I would highly recommend hotel metro!
Great space for an intimate wedding! The size and shape of the rooftop area makes the space feel so much bigger than it is. They were very flexible in requests we had.
Book here!! Hotel Metro has all the elegance of a large hotel at an affordable price. The food was wonderful, the hotel room we booked was spacious, and the roof for our cocktail hour is such a beautiful space. CANNOT recommend them enough. It's so wonderful to have an art-deco inspired hotel here in Milwaukee. It's a hidden gem that you'll never forget.
Marry my husband is the best decision I've ever made. The second is probably hiring Metro for our ceremony and reception. (Not kidding!) We worked with Katie and Ethan, event managers at Metro, and they made our day so great from when we started planning to the end of the day and after.
We had our ceremony at 11AM in the grand ballroom and then they flipped the room, our reception started about 12:30PM for about 75 people. They can fit more in that room but 75 was comfortable. We had the space until 5.
Things I want to rave about:
1) Pastiche caters all of their events. The food was beyond awesome. Yes, it's pricey (we went with a brunch buffet!) BUT so many people said it was the best wedding food that they've ever had. They were also great with menu changes - I needed food soy/nut tree free and they said "no problem"
2) The staff! From the front desk people, to the bartenders, to the other people running things behind the scenes, we could not have asked for more attentive and caring staff who were there to make our day go smoothly. Katie was a god-send. We had a small problem with a missing vase for the sweetheart table and Katie came up with a great solution on the spot and knew just want to do with various situations. She had great suggestions from previous weddings and event planning experience but also listened to what we wanted.
3) The space. We saved money on extravagant flowers because the hotel itself is gorgeous. And the roof top deck with a hosted bar(!) was a HUGE hit among our guests. It was so great to be able to spread out a little and enjoy the weather (we got married in early August with freakishly good weather) on the roof top. Plus, the hotel rooms at Metro are so fun and historic. We loved staying there!
4) The price. The space rental itself was an incredibly reasonable rate for what was included (use of both the ballroom and the roof top deck) and we had to meet a minimum for food and drink which was super easy. I'm not saying that it's cheap but we felt for the service, space, and food and drinks provided, we got a great deal and felt it was worth the price.
5) Hotel perks. I was able to get ready in the morning in the hotel with all of my bridesmaids and my mom without having to run between locations. And then we didn't have to go anywhere to take photos because there were so many great places at the hotel and nearby that we walked (so no transportation costs!). They are in the hospitality business - this is their bread and butter, they want this to go well. And more importantly, they've done this before! It just felt really professional start to finish. We LOVED that we had several of our vendors all wrapped up in one location. They've worked with most wedding vendors before so that also decreased stress on my end if there were questions. We also totally lucked out and there wasn't an event the night before so they set up Friday night for our Saturday morning wedding - which was great so our flower girl and ring bearer could practice in the space! My husband's family stayed in the hotel and absolutely loved the convenience of being right there and the great rooms.
Metro's ballroom is perfectly intimate. It was so wonderful to have our nearest and dearest together in such a lovely spot.
As a note - we were told that they are undergoing a MAJOR renovation but I'm not sure when it's going to start/end.
Definitely definitely definitely book with Metro. We are SO happy that we went with them.
We held our hors d'oeuvres reception in the Hotel Metro ballroom, and are so happy with the way everything turned out. Jon was fantastic in helping us to coordinate everything and his attention to our needs; and his staff was exceptional in their service and care for our guests. It turned out to be such a beautiful evening- like a dream come true!
we had a rather unuasual reception concept and they would with us very well, everything came out great, the staff was very helpful, food was amazing.
The art deco venue was a beautiful setting for our small wedding (60 people). The new chef is outstanding; we did food stations and people are still raving about the food.
We were able to also use Zen on Seven as an additional space which allowed us to have a photo booth set up which was also a huge crowd pleaser.
Jon Prill was amazing to work with, everything was perfect, timely, beautiful and more magical than I ever expected.
I had my reception at Hotel Metro in their Zen on 7 space. It was absolutely gorgeous, the food and service was outstanding, and all of the staff was very helpful. We have gotten so many wonderful review from family and friends about our wedding, and we couldn't be happier!
