Hotel Vintage was an amazing space for our wedding! Not only was the hotel beautiful, but the team was amazing and accommodating to us and our guests. We couldn't have been happier...
with the experience. Our coordinator, Stephanie, was knowledgeable and gave us suggestions and really helped us to make our day truly unique and like us! It showed our personality and couldn't have gone more smoothly!
When looking at places to spend our wedding night, my husband and I decided to spring for something really nice. Once he discovered that Hotel Vintage offered top-floor suites with...
private decks and hot tubs, we were sold. It was his little $600 splurge for the wedding. Initially, we were a little turned off, because when we called and booked, the employee was brusk and not super friendly. I had expected the rest of our experience to be similar, full of snotty hipsters who couldn't care less about us dropping a significant amount on one night (they told us if we wanted late checkout, we would have to purchase a second night). Boy, was I wrong!
After the wedding in Southeast Portland, we headed to the hotel. We did have a snafu with figuring out how valet parking worked, as there was no reserved space for customers to temporarily park while checking in. However, once this was figured out (we drove around the block and called the hotel, while they sent out the valet), everything was absolute smooth sailing.
First thing, I actually walked in wearing my enormous wedding dress. I got a lot of stares and compliments, and the guy checking us in was so kind and very complimentary--made me feel like quite the queen on my wedding day. A couple in line for the elevator even had us take their turn and go up to the ninth floor by ourselves.
Once we got to the room, it was just a tad smaller than expected, but the service at every turn was impeccable. Our bellhop basically offered to do just about anything we needed--from fetching us ice to getting us complimentary glasses of seltzer because we were so parched. We felt very well taken care of. We were surprised and delighted to be welcomed with a handwritten note of congratulations, and a small box of local wine truffles. Such a sweet gesture. And later, when we had some friends over for an after-party, we were delivered a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses.
We had an absolutely incredible time in the suite. It was a beautiful end to a beautiful day to watch the sunset from the top floor, inside our own hot tub. The room was spotlessly clean, the sweatshirt-style robes were lovely to wear, and the bed was so comfortable, the best man passed out snoring on it before midnight. (Thankfully he left and let us sleep in it.)
Checking out in the morning was quick, but I was just a biiiit too late to take advantage of their free coffee and cold-brew bar (I mean, for real now). If we had stayed a few extra days, we probably would have even taken advantage of their communal bicycles.
If you're looking for luxury and to be treated VERY well, look no further than Hotel Vintage. We had an incredible experience, and we hope we can stay there again soon.
My overall rating is more on the 4.5 level than 4. I was very happy with my wedding at the Hotel Vintage Plaza/Pazzo Ristorante. They have a fantastic space for weddings. Our cere...
mony was in the wine cellar which was absolutely beautiful. The hotel provides a candlelight service and it makes for a really romantic, intimate ceremony space. The cocktail hour was held on the mezzanine level where the bar and various meats, cheeses, and bread trays were set out. This area, being out in the open, away from the tables, allowed the guests the opportunity to mingle and it kept the reception room a surprise. The reception was held in the Tuscany room. We had about 100 guests, a dance floor, and three-piece band and it did not seem crowded at all. For a smaller wedding, like we had, it was the perfect space--the low ceilings made the room feel very intimate.
The best thing about this venue, however, is the food. The food all comes from Pazzo and is fantastic. Plus, guests are allowed to place their orders for a plated service at the wedding. The hotel provides menus and the wait staff takes the orders once the guests are seated.
We felt very well taken care of by the staff and by the wedding coordinator, Regina. We received an evening in the bridal suite for free as a "gift" from the hotel. When we went up to the room, they had decorated the bed with a rose petal heart (aww...) and provided a bottle of champagne and chocolates and some commemorative champagne flutes! So thoughtful! My only complaints is that we had been promised use of the cellar for the rehearsal and then told that we couldn't use it because there was a rehearsal dinner in the space that evening and they had to set up the space. It added a little more stress than I would have liked and made the ceremony a bit more awkward. I also heard later that they did not allow guests to sit down right away for the ceremony and the space outside the cellar got crowded quickly (although guests could have waited in the lobby). Otherwise, a perfect, wonderful experience and I highly recommend!
We wanted an indoor wedding with a unique feel. We found just that and much more. The onsite wedding coordinator took care of every detail making our day just as we wanted it and...
kept the stress levels low. We highly recommend doing the ceremony in the wine celler, with the room being lit by candle light it is sure to make any ceremony romantic. The food was excellent too!
Even though my husband I didnt choose this place (decision based solely on looks of the event room), the level of service and welcoming we got from their event team (Heather) was g...
reat! She was very nice, helpful and just made us feel good about the place and their service. We would have totally gone with them except for the fact that their banquet room looked a little too generic and conference roomish.
I loved the staff at the Vintage. They were incredible and anticipated my every wish and desire on my wedding day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional ...
service but know what you want and don't be afraid to call or email a lot. Heather, the coordinator is a miracle worker. She is my personal hero as she managed to get me all of the features of my dream wedding without going over my budget.
That said, I had a few stressful moments the few weeks before the wedding with the head chef and my hotel coordinator going out of town before giving me my food options (that I had asked about every 3 months for a year but did not get until a week before the wedding). My preliminary bill was a bit of a shock as well--but at least it was a preliminary one so that I could see what was going on my bill before the actual wedding day. The hotel offers so many wonderful features that it's easy to get carried away with the extras if you are a dreamer like me. After seeing a bill that was 160% of my earlier agreed budget, I had to come back to the reality of my limitations. All I had to do was speak up and I was able to get almost everything and at a reasonable price--which also included a complementary champagne toast.
