    Born in Vietnam and raised in Idaho, Kimi was on an around-the-world adventure when she landed in Hawaii and fell in love with the island of Maui. Upon deciding to make it her home, she promptly began a career planning weddings at the Westin Ka’anapali where she carved out her niche as Director of Romance and from there, advanced into catering and conference services. She has since worked with nearly every planner and vendor on the island. From a 2-person surprise proposal on the beach to working with meeting planners for Fortune 500 companies’ annual incentive programs, no job is too small or big for Kimi because she loves to plan!

ngs so completely smooth that the day of our wedding was stress-free. Our package was reasonably priced for such a small group, and we followed it with a fine dining dinner in the hotel's restaurant. She also took care of cake, flowers, and a photographer for us, who was also able to give us so many high quality photos from just one hour with us that you'd think we'd had a full day. If you're looking for a small wedding and flexible options that aren't just a beach (while still getting those beach photos), this was a perfect romantic choice.

itality, and thoughtfully designed architecture that makes every corner feel special. The property is private and serene, yet offers breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding islands. We held our ceremony on the Sunset Lawn, cocktails on the Anuhea Terrace, and dinner in the Anuhea Ballroom — each space more stunning than the next. The Sunset Lawn has sweeping views of the Pacific, Molokini, and the West Maui Mountains. The Terrace feels like a secret garden tucked beneath the Treehouse, and the ballroom is unlike any we’ve seen — soaring ceilings, soft natural light, lush garden and waterfall views, and beautiful new lighting fixtures. It’s warm, open, and anything but generic. Kimi was truly exceptional to work with — professional, kind, and effortlessly warm. From our very first walkthrough over a year ago to the final moments of our wedding day, she was thoughtful, responsive, and incredibly organized. She guided us through every step of the planning process with ease, handled our endless questions with patience, and made sure not a single detail was overlooked. On the big day, we didn’t have to think twice about setup, cleanup, or logistics — Kimi had it all covered. She understood our vision completely and executed it flawlessly. Thanks to her, everything flowed beautifully, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment with our guests. The entire staff at Hotel Wailea radiates aloha — warm, welcoming, and attentive in every way. And lastly, the food! Chef Ryan blew everyone away. Our guests are still talking about how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. This place is magic. We can’t wait to come back.

What a gorgeous venue! My fiancé and I were married on the Sunset Lawn. I had been working with Kimi, the event/ wedding coordinator, and she was such a huge help. From finding the...
70+ chairs that we needed to seat all our guests, to locating my bouquet before the ceremony, she was there all the way. During our rehearsal, Kimi walked us through the beautiful hotel and showed us our "plan B" spot (I didn't even know that was an option, but there was a storm rolling in that weekend) which was equally as gorgeous as the outside lawn. She had waters on ice both for our rehearsal and our ceremony. It was a perfect venue for us. Since the hotel is adult only and much smaller than any other hotel/resort on Maui, it felt much more romantic for our special day. No kids or families running around making noise or distractions. Thank you to Kimi & the hotel staff for making our day perfect!

usband and I are from Seattle and dreamed of having a destination wedding on Maui (we've traveled there many times for vacation). We love the intimacy of a smaller boutique hotel and with only 72 rooms on the property Hotel Wailea is one of the romantic spots on the island. America took all of the difficulties out of planning a destination wedding for us; I am project manager by trade and have planned many corporate events so to say we 'knew what we wanted' was an understatement ;-) We traveled out to Hotel Wailea in June of 2014 to discuss the details of the big day and America had set up face to face meetings (at the hotel) with all of our vendors! That alone was such a relief to know who we were dealing with before the week of our wedding. America knows the island extremely well and can provide you with as much guidance as needed when it comes to selecting your specific vendors; she even took care of all the correspondence to make it easier on us. Not only that, but we had a week of events leading up to the day of and she helped us coordinate multiple amazing excursions (fishing, Maui Magic, spa day, etc.). As for the venue itself, it's stunning. Super lush, very romatic and perfect for photographs! Our ceremony was on the sunset lawn and our reception in the Anuhea room. We also had use of the terrace directly outside the reception room where we set up cocktails, had passed appetizers and an interactive Hula show! The food was fantastic, catered by their on-site restaurant Capsiche (an award winning establishment) and the night was perfect. The hotel recently went under a renovation and is even more stunning than it was before. The staff and the owners (who host a Happy Hour every Friday) are fantastic, there’s nothing to disappoint here! We could not have asked for a more perfect day; thanks to all of America’s hard work and the efforts of the on-site staff, they made this a day we will never forget. We cannot recommend Hotel Wailea enough and will continue to travel there as often as possible!
