The staff and customer service is 5 Star and I've had many guests communicate that the service is the best they've ever experienced. The team also went above and beyond to help us realize our wedding vision and threw in so many fun surprises along the way. Huge shout out to Lindsey F. who basically became my best friend throughout this process and who figured out how to make all my crazy ideas work! I simply could not think of a better place to get married in Michigan.

I worked with Sarah to navigate the ins and outs of planning during the COVID pandemic, and she was super responsive and helpful from the get-go with flexible on-site planning, vendor recommendations and coordination as things bobbed and weaved in the months leading up to our big day. The team were great in the final stretch, we got incredibly lucky with the weather and were able to forgo our tent rental - and our dinner and dancing under the pines and the stars were remarked on by every guest. The food (John Cross Whitefish FTW!) was amazing, the service was impeccable and the venue brought the perfect touch of old northern Michigan elegance we were hoping for. Thanks to Sarah and the whole team for an amazing wedding night!

can even put it into words how perfect our wedding weekend was. From the time we toured Hotel Walloon in 2019 to our wedding weekend in 2021, Lydia went above and beyond. She was incredibly thorough, responsive, accommodating (huge) and professional. I was very detailed in my requests and Lydia made sure everything was perfect. She went out of her way many times to make suggestions for things we didn’t even think about. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests on the hotel, hotel staff and wedding venue. We left feeling like we had the most perfect wedding weekend. Philip and Owen were also extremely helpful throughout the weekend as well, even assisting with my wedding bouquet at one point! We will absolutely be going back to Hotel Walloon to celebrate our anniversaries as it will always hold a special spot in our hearts. We could not be happier that we picked Hotel Walloon and the Talcott as our wedding venue. Thank you thank you!!

We wanted everything in one location, so our wedding and ceremony were in the same place. All of our guests were as mesmerized as us upon their arrival. The hospitality at Hotel Walloon goes unmatched. We feel as though the staff treated everyone with the same importance and caring that they showed towards us. It felt incredible to have a whole wedding weekend with our loved ones. Our guests still rave about how much fun they had! We have to give a special shout-out to a staff member who really went above and beyond to make our day amazing: Sarah was INCREDIBLE to work with. Leading up to our wedding, she met with us multiple times over video chat to make sure our vision came to life. She answered all of our questions with complete transparency and coordinated with all of our vendors before our day. She was there during our day and made everything run smoothly. She even had plan B ready to go in case of rain. Her sweet demeanor and professionalism made us feel so confident that our day would go on without a hitch. We couldn't have been more lucky to work with someone as great as Sarah. If you are thinking about choosing Hotel Walloon as your wedding destination celebration. You will not be disappointed! It has so much charm and is the most perfect up north destination wedding.

Lydia Reynolds and Emily Jensen are two of the most enjoyable people I have ever worked with. They are solution-oriented, patient and always want to find a way to make anything work. They even surprised us with custom-made hotel keys for all of our guests as a little something special. There is nothing I would change about this team, location or level of service. Five stars all around - and everyone on site was excited for our wedding. All of our guests were treated, and felt like, VIPs. Everything was handled with white-glove service and a level of calm that so nicely complemented a busy wedding weekend. If anyone is thinking about booking a Hotel Walloon wedding - do it! upon this adorable town because I knew right away that this was where I wanted to get married! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and trust me when I say this, that it is nearly impossible to find a hotel as classy + beautiful as this in Northern Michigan. Not only is the hotel gorgeous though, but the staff was that much more amazing. We are so grateful for everyone there who made our wedding weekend such a blast. We rented out the entire hotel for our guests the weekend of our wedding, and they truly made us feel like it was our home for the weekend. They were ready for us at any minute of the day for anything we needed (storage space, keys to the building to start setting up, snacks, water, food, bar service); you name it! By the end of the weekend, we had guests from all over the country talking about how they wanted to plan their next trip back to this hotel because it was so wonderful :) We are so lucky we found this place to host our wedding weekend and we highly recommend to anyone looking to get married in Northern Michigan!! I can't thank them enough for making our weekend so amazing; it would not have been the same without them and their support!

nt! Every single staff member at the Hotel Walloon made us feel so welcome, and delivered absolute top notch customer service for our entire stay! Emily Jensen was absolutely a delight to work with! From start to finish everything went so smoothly. Emily was a tremendous help organizing our events over the weekend. No detail was overlooked.. From making sure that my husband’s aunt’s ADA room had exactly what she needed, to making sure our guests were greeted with a glass of champagne (and a smile) when checking in, to helping to organize a late night pizza gathering..and on and on. I never had to worry for a second, because everything was taken care of. Amanda Brewer was also incredible. She made sure all our rooms were squared away during the booking/checking in/ and checking out process. She and Emily’s “can do” attitude and always upbeat demeanors made them so delightful to work with! We couldn’t pass them in the balls or at the front desk without one or both saying..”how can we help you?”..”what can we do?” I just can’t recommend the Hotel Walloon highly enough! Their customer service, and attention to every detail is second to none!! We love everything about the Hotel Walloon!!

g every inch of the ground could hinder us from envisioning how spectacular our wedding would be in September. And it truly was everything we had hoped for and more. From the first correspondence to our first time seeing the venue, Allison and her team made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Since we reside out of state, we reached out many times throughout the year asking questions regarding the venue or the local area and Allison was always so prompt and happy to respond. The Hotel Walloon team was excited to help us coordinate our unique wedding vision with a small ceremony for our immediate family in the yard of The Inn at Walloon Lake followed by a large reception for 175 people at the Talcott. The Hotel Walloon team was there every step of the way, helping us coordinate with our vendors and guests to make sure everything was perfect for our big day. They worked with us to make some customizations to our bar package and worked with the florist to hang lights and greenery from the ceiling structure. Our stay in the hotel exceeded our every expectation as well… The staff was so friendly, greeting us upon every arrival or passing in the hall. They made sure our entire party had everything we needed and would promptly address any request. Hotel Walloon brought together all the pieces and details that made our wedding day flawless from the moment we woke up in the hotel on our Wedding day, until the last vendors and guests left. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our wedding and stay were at Hotel Walloon and The Talcott, and we have Allison and the Hotel Walloon team to thank for that. We truly would not change a thing about our experience, except maybe extending our stay longer so that we could have soaked in every ounce of charm that Hotel Walloon has to offer. Mark our words, we will be returning as often as possible to celebrate anniversaries or just to enjoy a get-away from the city.

and had our wedding Memorial Day weekend, just months after the space was beautifully renovated and ready to use. You would think they have been hosting weddings at the Talcott for years! Our guests loved having use of the patio space for cocktail hour and then being able to go outside periodically to get some fresh air. Our bridal party arrived by boat to Tommy's Dock right across from the Talcott and it was such a cool experience! We did have to coordinate with a few outside vendors, but the Hotel Walloon staff worked seamlessly with the catering team we hired to make our wedding day a huge success. Hotel Walloon provided the bar and their bartenders were outstanding for our party crowd. To this day (almost two years later) my friends and family are still raving about the wedding and talking about how future weddings will have an impossible time beating ours!

l, Hotel Walloon is just that! Hotel Walloon was absolute perfection. I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars because they truly deserve it. From the moment we reached out for a quote they were nothing but attentive, genuine, hospitable and accommodating. We instantly felt comfortable and knew we were in good hands. All of our wedding guests stayed at the hotel and have continued to rave about the service. The entire staff is focused on the guests feeling at home. Lauren Butwell was especially amazing to work with. I honestly can’t say enough good things about her. She’s incredibly organized, diligent and professional and she always manages to do everything with a smile. Another great thing about getting married in Walloon Lake (besides how gorgeous it is!) is how close everything is to HW. You have plenty of food (Barrel Back, Walloon Lake Inn, The General Store, Johan’s, etc ), drink and shopping options within a short walking distance. This was key for our guests! They all had plenty to do the entire weekend. No one was ever left wondering what to do next. Plus, Tommy’s (boat rental) is directly next door to HW so people were able to rent kayaks, pontoons, speed boats, etc with no issues.
