We chose the Hotel Washington for our wedding on March 29, 2025, one of the busiest weekends of the year with the Cherry Blossom Festival in full swing, and they exceeded every exp...ectation. From our very first tour to the last dance, the staff gave us and our 150+ guests their full, undivided attention.
The initial planning was super straightforward. The original hotel wedding coordinator, Mariah, clearly laid out options for our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party. Mariah was very warm and engaging - she was a huge part of us picking the location as she made us feel at ease. Unfortunately, she moved onto a bigger position in Chicago but the transition to the new hotel wedding coordinator, Toi, was smooth and Toi was such a delight to work with!
We held our ceremony on the R level, followed by a cocktail hour in the Sky Room, which offered a breathtaking view of the monument and even included a partial space in the Vue bar with our own designated bartenders. The Sky room’s accent wall mimics the iconic DC metro subway with blue and pink accent lighting that adds a unique atmosphere. The reception was held on the lowest level in the gorgeous Grand Ballroom with cool LED lights mimicking the streets of DC on the ceiling. The huge mirrors with customizable color backlighting were a huge hit with our guests, who loved taking photos in front of them. The beautiful foyer area provided more than enough space for our 8x12ft seating chart, 44inch canvas sign for guests to sign, and gift/card box. Our after party was back on the R level on the opposite side of the Vue bar which provided an intimate and lively night vibe for our late night guests.
A special shout-out to our incredible wedding coordinator, Toi. She was the absolute sweetest and truly loves love! Toi was accommodating, patient with all of my questions, and an absolute joy to have by our side on the big day. Her dog, Tito, is also the cutest!
One of the most special parts of our stay was the hotel's pet-friendly policy. Our two dogs—a dachshund and a chihuahua—were allowed in our complimentary King and bridal suites and we were told they would also be welcomed in the ceremony room if we wanted. This allowed us to take some truly memorable photos with them and feel at ease throughout the entire weekend.
We also have to thank the hotel for the complimentary stay in the king and bridal suites for the night before and of the wedding. This was a wonderful touch that was one less thing we had to worry about coordinating. Both rooms provided a large, open space for our bridal party, photographer, friends, and family to get ready and take photographs in.
We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Hotel Washington gave us our dream wedding, and we highly recommend it to any couple looking for a spectacular, stress-free day.
