They were the only bad thing about our wedding. He cancels last minute (the day before the wedding) and sends his wife in his stead (he does this regularly - tends to blame covid).
His wife is rude and impersonal. She rolled her eyes at my grandfather during family pictures. She pulled me aside in the middle of our reception to inform me that the pictures would be delivered late. It was so bizarre. I had multiple guests mention her attitude during the wedding. She missed key moments of our day.
My grandmother, who paid for our wedding, was so taken aback by this woman's attitude that she walked away from our family pictures. We took our own later in the day.
Adam and Z were one of the best things about our wedding. First, the logistics: we booked both of them, with an engagement shoot with Adam. Adam was our main point of contact, and he was easy to get in touch with, and quickly responsive. He was flexible, and easy to work with. They didn’t book a certain number of hours, they booked our entire event, so all in all, they each spent about 10 hours with us on wedding day. We received a hefty (30+ photos) sneak peak around a week after the wedding. We received our full gallery (700-800 photos) around 5-6 weeks after the wedding. Their work takes time, but I would wait triple that for these photos. Truly the most stunning, authentic wedding photography I’ve seen. Adam and Z captured so many more moments of the day than we could have dreamed. They were kind, personable, fun people to have around. I’m pretty sure Adam learned the names of everyone at the wedding - so many of our guests have told us that Adam and Z were such a positive addition to the day, and we couldn’t agree more.
Adam was so amazing to work with! We started our relationship by grabbing some drinks and talking about our vision and our style. We had such a great time getting to know him that our conversation lasted almost 2 hours! We had heard about Adam through our planning team and saw the amazing photos that him and his wife, Imthiaz, had taken and were blown away.
The night of the wedding, our guests were having so much fun with Adam and by the end of the night he was part of the family. We did not not feel like the photography took us away from spending time with our family but captured those special moments we spent with them.
Thank you so much for everything and can't wait to share these pictures with all of our friends and family!

Look no further for your wedding photographer! Adam not only took the most BEAUTIFUL and AUTHENTIC photos of our wedding day, but he was a calming presence the entirety of the day. From making me laugh when I was stressed about my hair to keeping the little ones engaged during family shots, he kept things light and joyful. He even got us through our group posed photos in 10 minutes (maybe even less!), so we could be present to our day and our loved ones surrounding us.
My family still refers to him as the ninja photographer. When we got our photos back, we were AMAZED at the shots he got of the moments we remember so well, but we had NO idea there was a photo being taken!
Hiring Adam was all around one of the BEST decisions we made for wedding day!
We loved having Adam and Imthiaz at our wedding in Mexico, and the pictures are wonderful. Our issue came when I paid Adam $650 dollars for an album that never arrived, even after I extended a lot of grace and patience (think: 1+ year waiting). Ultimately, he stopped responding to my emails, and I never got reimbursed. I'm mostly sad because it reframes the way I remember my wedding when I see their photos, even many years later.
Note that they changed their name from AHP Photos to Houseman Photos. Rebranding is normal, and changing a business name is not necessarily a bad thing. But it obscures the bad reviews they received in the past from me and other unhappy couples who experienced the same situation of paying for something that never arrived.
Adam is pure talent and on top of that, he's fun to have with you for the day! His pictures have a unique way of capturing the feeling of the moment. He captures so many pure and raw moments (like my mom's face when I'm walking down the aisle) that I will cherish forever. And even the typical posed photos take on a more natural feel. So happy that we got to work with him!
Adam and his crew made all of our dreams come true. Between their professionalism, creativeness and the amount of energy that they brought to our wedding was incredible! The best part was that the photos came back quickly and were PHENOMENAL !!!!
We worked with one of the Houseman photographers, Adam, for both our engagement and wedding and overall had a great experience. Loved our engagement shoot the most and stylistically how Adam documents the candid genuine moments of how we were living not just how we were posing. I have a couple minor scale wishes that didn't come true on the wedding day; I recognize they are partially due to us choosing to only hire one photographer for a wedding of about 190 people, as well as not explicitly stating some expectations. These unmet wishes include having a handful of guests not in any photos (I would have liked a bit more documentation of that for the long term memories), and not being asked if there were specific shots/people I wanted in photos (again, also my unspoken expectation). He got photos of most pf our important people, as we did the planned family photo time, but I wished for a few more moments/pictures set aside to include the long traveled guests, etc. The photos we do have (which is a lot!) are wonderful and HIGH quality. His journalism style brings very warm fuzzy nostalgic feelings. Ask about the printed photo album options too!
Other qualities of his service... Punctuality: on point. Professionalism: absolutely. Personality: fun and engaging. We are grateful for these memories!
Just a tip to the engaged: DO make a list of your important people to get in photos and important shots you want, then give this to the photographer and a bridal party member (or wedding coordinator if you have one) so they can help remember and find people!
I can not give the Housemans enough stars. Everything leading up to the event was smooth - they were communicative and appreciative of my input. The day of our wedding though a blur to me now, was great with Adam. He was calm and fun to work with - everyone appreciated his easy-going, unobtrusive style. And the most important part -- the photos turned out AMAZING. I sent one to my mom -- and she almost cried. 10/10 would highly recommend.
Adam shot both the Catholic and Sikh ceremonies at our two-day wedding in Colorado in May 2018.
Prior to the wedding, Adam was flexible, supportive and a huge asset to our planning process.
During the wedding, Adam was again flexible with our ever-changing schedule and always willing to do whatever was necessary to capture the best moments of our rowdy families. His willingness to adapt to our plans was a huge asset for us. He made everything feel stress-free.
The images themselves are incredible! We are extremely happy with the moments that Adam captured at our wedding. We'll cherish his photos forever!
Overall, Adam is a photographer who will help your vision for your photos become a reality. Before the wedding, he'll work with you to hone in on your exact desires and needs. During the wedding, he's calm and has a unique ability to put you and your guests at ease. Adam's ability to comfort others shows in the quality of images he produces.
He implemented our vision perfectly and we are forever thankful for that. Highly recommend Adam!
Adam was amazing! Not just at the wedding but even leading up to the wedding. He sat down to several meetings with me and helped calm my nerves about how the whole day would go. From the first meeting to talk about his services, I felt immediately comfortable with him. He got some great shots that weren't just the normal wedding shots. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs a wedding photographer!
Adam did the wedding photos for my son as well as several family photo shoots - he is fantastic! Adam is such a kind and pleasant person to have around during these functions! During the wedding he was stealthy and got some amazing photos, so very pleasant to have there! A delightful person and excellent photographer!
Adam was amazing to work with. Although he is based in Denver, we flew him out to Houston to capture our special day. His innate ability to capture all the small moments of the day has allowed us to relive the best day of our life through our photos. He took the time to not just give attention to us (the bride and groom) but made sure to also give as much time and details in photos to our guests and family. If you are looking for a happy go lucky guy, who is able to get you that moody look in your photos, then Adam is your guy. 10/10 would book again. My only complaint is he isn't based in Houston. We would love to have him continue to capture the next milestones of our lives!
Adam was wonderful, he was so accommodating and seemed to slot in amongst the guests so we hardly noticed him!
All our friends and family commented on how nice he was and how he made them feel at ease during any photo session
The photos came back and we could not have been happier
Thanks again Adam
We were already familiar with Adam's work so when we got engaged, we had to fly to Denver for our engagement photos. Our personalities clicked right away, and we knew we had to get him for our wedding as well. Adam Houseman understood our vision and worked with our cultural traditions to capture memorable moments of our day. And it was those candid moments that he captured that we will always refer him to our family and friends for any special occasions. Highly recommended not only professionally but personally, because Adam is AWESOME!!!
Adam and Imthiaz are incredible and their pictures are visually engaging. Imthiaz photographed my boudoir photos the day before our wedding in Vail at Piney River Ranch. She made me feel comfortable and natural in the Aspen wooded setting. On our wedding day, Adam captured our wedding and all the details that came with it. He made sure we took a full group photo but it was the special moments between my groom and I that I will cherish forever. Adam traveled to Houston to take our engagement photos as well. They are worth it and I loved that they were a part of our journey.
Houseman studios provides such a great experience! Quality photos, artistic eyes to see the moments you’ll treasure. Adam and Imthiaz are so great to work with, so kind, fun and easy to be around! Our experiences with them have been so great we come back time and time again for all our families photo needs! We can’t recommend Houseman Studios highly enough!
If you choose to do business with this photographer, please get absolutely everything in writing and make sure ALL products are delivered prior to final payment!!! This was our wedding photographer. We did get our photographs, which were fine- nothing spectacular, but fine. Our problem came when he promised us a wedding album in exchange for money that he owed us. Six months following the agreement, we had not heard anything so we inquired about the album. He made excuses and said he was still working on it, and that he would not let us down. Three months later we still hadn’t heard anything, and after several attempts to communicate with him, he finally acknowledged that he would have it completed and send us a tracking number in 3-5 weeks. That never happened. Long story short, we still have no wedding album and less than half the money that he owes us. Please learn from our mistakes and be careful doing business with this photographer!
This should be 7 out of 5 stars. Adam truly is that good, and exceeded our expectations in every way. He is professional and personable. The photos came out unbelievable. We really can't say enough good things about our experience. Adam came to our wedding as a vendor and left as a friend.
The details: Adam came dressed professionally to all events in our package. He made a point to know people's names and address them. He has a way of working with people that really elevated the experience. He was kind, courteous, and fun. Throughout the night our guests came up to us and complimented working with him. He was a big part of our night without being intrusive or pushy. We received our photos and were impressed by the moments he was able to capture. He did a great job not only with the portraits but also with candid photos throughout the night. We believe he would be a great choice for your special event.
There aren’t enough words to tell you how much we loved Adam. After searching high and low for a photographer we found his work and booked him right away. He took the time to call us and explain his style and what would happen the day of. Since we don’t live in Denver, we scheduled some time to meet him for drinks when we visited. We instantly loved his personality and knew he would be a great vendor, but I wasn’t prepared for how much he would add to our special day. He adjusted perfectly to our smaller wedding and close dynamic. He felt more like family and our guests couldn’t stop raving about him. He arrived early, was so well dressed, managed to perfectly cover the groom and I getting ready even though we were in different locations, he remembered everyone’s name and was an overall joy. He also worked seamlessly with my videographer who he had never met. The pictures were delivered in a timely fashion and he communicated with us the whole time. I can’t say enough good things and would recommend him to every bride looking for not only an amazing photographer but also a great person. To note: his style is more journalistic which we loved! He doesn’t do those overly exposed, super frilly photos.
I found Adam Houseman through The Knot. After exchanging some emails – I found Adam to be personable and affordable and booked them seven months in advance for our Wedding. However, three weeks before the Wedding date Adam informed me that his wife Imthiaz would be shooting the wedding – I had seen zero of her photos, had never spoken with her, and this was the first time I was hearing that Adam would not be our Photographer. At this late date, so near to our wedding, I felt as if it was too late to go another direction and had already paid the photographer in full and felt like my only option was to use their services.
On the day of my wedding, Imthiaz arrived late to the site where we were getting ready and immediately had a bad attitude. She and I began walking around and when I indicated that I had gathered some "detail items" like our invitation, the rings, etc. and asked if she wanted to take some detail shots and her response was: "I would prefer not to". My bridesmaids could already sense her attitude and were asking how to help - she proceeded to yell at the bridesmaids saying she would tell them when she wanted them to do something so stop asking.
While these were somewhat minor issues – when we attempted to take family shots she took only two to three shots and mere seconds per group. She was extremely rude, curt, and shockingly uncooperative. The icing on the cake came later in the night when Imthiaz attempted to cut my elderly aunts in line for the restroom. When they indicated that their use of the restroom was urgent, Imthiaz said that “it wasn’t the first time she had been discriminated against”. My Aunt was very offended and replied that she has never discriminated against anyone in her life and Imthiaz told her “well, there is always a first time”.
All in all I was disappointed with the way the photographer treated me, my family, and my guests, but I was also disappointed with the lack of shots of the bridal details, family shots, and complete dearth of photos of our guests. When my Wedding Coordinator informed Adam of the overall dissatisfaction we felt – Adam took it upon himself to apologize stating that he: “hopes that I was able to adequately express my apologies for any uncomfortable moments you and your families may have experienced. Its certainly not how we like to do business and are all terribly embarrassed.” He then offered up a photo book of our top wedding photos free of cost (at what he assured us was $1,000 dollar value) and assured that it would arrive by Christmas. I appreciated that he took the responsibility and promised to make it right. However, after numerous emails and phone calls I still did not have any information regarding the status of the photo album. Only after threatening legal action did I receive a photo album three months after Christmas and the quality of the photo album is basically the equivalent of a photo book of shutter fly.
My advice to anyone considering Houseman Studios for their wedding would be to only use them if you want to be disappointed, belittled in front of your guests, called a racist, and not get what you paid for.
Choosing Adam to photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. His work enters the world of artists, and he has more than just nice cameras... an eye for poetry and story and a craft that he honors. He made a great choice, as well, in his second photographer, AD. They were playful, easy-going, and delightful to spend the day with. ...And he was willing to be flexible within our budget. Highly recommended.
First off,
Adam is great and to the reviewer who gave him two stars because of his horrible experience, the fact that he stayed and finished shooting speaks to his professionalism. I can say that in the same situation, I would have been long gone and I am sorry to Adam that he had to go through something so demeaning.
Adam shot our August 2017 reception and we absolutely love our photos! He was so fun to shoot with and he has a personality that puts you at ease (which is important on such a big day). It took longer than I would have liked to receive our photos back, but other than that everything turned out great and everyone has been "ooing" over them since we received them. Awesome experience! Highly recommend!
First off: the bride was happy with the final product. However, I was the maid of honor and was shocked by the lack of professionalism throughout all of our interactions with Adam. He was rude to the bride on the phone before he even got to the shoot. He lost his temper and yelled at the entire wedding party. He gave no useful direction the entire shoot; it was overall an awkward interaction and left a bad impression on most of the wedding party. He also left the actual wedding early. In my opinion, the images were lack luster and this experience was not worth the price the bride paid. I would not recommend this photographer.
My husband and I used Houseman Studios to photograph our June 2017 Wedding. It was the best decision we made! The photos that Adam took captured the experience and all of the day's details so authentically! We would highly, highly recommend using Houseman Studios. You will certainly not be disappointed!
Adam stepped up last minute when my out-of-state photographer had a flight cancellation the day of my wedding. He paid close attention to all the notes she and I had spent hours going over and made sure he covered everything. He knew all 18 members of the bridal party by name within minutes and made everyone feel comfortable right off the bat. I am so thankful for Adam and highly recommend him for your wedding photography!
Adam Houseman...... what a man! Probably the best photographer I know. Adam and his team did my photography and videography for my wedding in Colorado Spring at the Broadmoor. Adam is a one-of-a-kind guy who can make anyone feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Not only does he produce the best work, but he also makes the experience fun! When we had our engagement shoot in Boulder, my husband could not stop talking about how much fun he had with Adam.... and he HATES pictures! Adam is up-front, genuine, loving, and talented. His videographers were great too and made sure to capture my vision.
We cannot say enough good things about this photographer! Adam blew us away with his photos of our wedding. He's extremely good at capturing all the unscripted, beautiful moments throughout the day - laughing, crying, dancing. His photos are truly a work of art and he has such a unique perspective. We loved that he didn't spend all night making us take pose-y pictures, but still got many wonderful "picture frame" photos that we loved. He's just an overall good guy. We would recommend Houseman Studios to anyone looking for memorable photos.
Adam went above and beyond for our wedding in Telluride. He was the perfect mix of professional and party...a pleasure to be around and the photos of our wedding were amazing.
Adam was absolutely amazing to work with. He did both our engagement photos and wedding photos. He knew exactly how to handle my crazy family and was so easy to work with. He even helped organize timing of the ceremony and guided us when we had no clue what to do.
My only complaint is that the photos took a little while to get, but the wait was worth it. The quality is excellent and his work is breathtaking.
A plus was that his wife did my boudoir photos and was just as amazing to work with as Adam. I can't praise this couple enough, worth every penny and the wait!!!!!
Adam was a real pleasure to work with and his photos of our wedding day were outstanding. He was so helpful, especially with my nerves being in front of a camera. And on the day of the wedding, I hardly even noticed that he was there. Our guests loved him as well. His photojournalist approach towards wedding photography was exactly what we were looking for. But he also knew that our families would want formal portraits, which he reserved a bit of time to do for our day as well. Overall, a fantastic choice for us!
Adam was great to work with! He was easy and fun while still being able to tell people where they need to be. I never noticed he was there but he got everything we wanted. He fit in so well he seemed more like a guest than the photographer. Absolutely great!!
We used Adam and Imthiaz Houseman for our engagement photos in Oct 2010, a boudoir shoot in Aug 2011 and our wedding in Sept 2011. They were both very professional and organized. I really enjoyed working with both of them and all of their photos have turned out amazing. Their handmade photo albums are beautiful. I would highly reccomend AHP for your wedding events!
My wife and I met with about 10 different photographers before choosing to work with Adam. We chose to work with Adam because he was extremely responsive and honest with us. And, we felt like we could hang out with him on the most important day of our lives and not feel awkward around him. I can’t speak highly enough about Adam.
Literally, I feel like Adam is our family photographer for the rest of our lives. My wife did a boudoir session with him before our wedding and we have since referred 3 or 4 of our friends to use Adam. On top of it all, our pictures were AMAZING! Words can’t really explain how good they were. To give you an idea of the caliber of pictures – we were featured in a 4 page spread in Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine. ‘Nough said.
Listen, I know he’s gotten some bad reviews, and I did my due diligence too before hiring him. I asked him about them and he was able to explain each one and made me feel comfortable enough to give the guy several grand up front for our photos (cause of the discount he offered us). I wouldn’t have changed anything and would use Adam again. Feel free to ask Adam for my number and I’ll tell you personally how smooth it was. Good luck!
Adam and Imthiaz were so amazing on our day. The slideshow they provided 4 days after the wedding made me, my family, and new husband weep tears of joy.
They stepped up and made sure everything moved along as planned when things started to unravel during the reception as well. Way above and beyond.
Adam and his wife, Imthiaz were absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding! During the planning for our Denver wedding we were living in Grand Junction. Adam and Imthiaz were so flexible with our tight schedule while we were in town and were really fun and a pleasure to work with. I was impressed with their work when I first found them; it was artsy, which was the look I was going for and my father, who took care of the bill and has a passion for photography thought their work was amazing.
Not only did they do our wedding, they also shot our engagement photos and rehearsal dinner reception. We have been so pleased with everything, especially our wedding photos! I am so happy with my choice of Adam and Imthiaz! So many friends have said of our photos, "You look like you belong in a magazine!" And I agree and
my father said, "best money spent."
Thank you Adam and Imthiaz!
Adam Houseman had memory card failure and did not capture the end of my reception so I have no pictures of the bouquet and garter toss, or sparkling exit. I don't know how he can call himself a professional when he was there taking pictures for two hours and no images were captured! The online proofs were not posted for 2 months and after that he had nothing but excuses as to why the disc he claimed to mail never reached me. I eventually went to his office to pick it up. Further, none of the images on the website were even edited, so most of them are far away and include all kinds of things in the frame. We ended up settling for the services and pictures I didn't receive but I was dissappointed by the whole exchange. I saw several similar reviews after my wedding and know I am not the only dissappointed bride.
He was very responsive took beautiful pictures and was fun to work with.
