Stu was great to work with. We were able to meet up a few days before the wedding since I don't live in Maui. The day of the wedding was great. He showed up early enough to get ...
all set up in time for the wedding. I like that he took shots of what he thought would work for us as well as asked us throughout the day about things we wanted to make sure he got shots of. He was so efficient that my husband and I decided we had enough shots and options and poses as a couple before our allotted time for couple shots was over. He then moved into our reception and took great candid shots. He is a versatile photographer and took classic shots as well as more contemporary shots. We loved all the photos. The CD disc of our pictures were in my mailbox before I even got home about a week and a half after the wedding. I have a friend who got married in the mainland on the same day as I did and she didn't get her pictures until about 3 1/2 weeks after her wedding.
If I had to go back and pick a photographer again, I would still choose Hula Girl Photography. He is dependable and makes things very low stress, which is two very important things on your wedding day.
It's hard enough to plan a wedding in your hometown, and even more daunting when planning a destination wedding. I chose Hula Girl Photography because I liked what I saw on their w...
ebsite. I didn't want too many formal pictures. Instead, I wanted a photographer who captured moments (like my 11-yr-old daughter wiping away a tear while my groom & I were exchanging vows). Most importantly, I wanted a photographer who understood what I wanted.
After the ceremony, we ran around Kapalua Beach (literally) and Stewart captured really great shots (even when we were at our goofiest with the kids). THOSE memories will now last a lifetime thanks to Hula Girl Photography.
Thank you, Stewart! We are thrilled with the end result!
Honest, hard working, polite, and professional. He never interrupted the ceremony to get the shot. He was so easy to work with and very patient with questions. He had wonderful sug...
gestions for place and time of day. I am so glad I took his advice! The images are so gorgeous! I highly recommend them.
We used Hula Girl Photography for our wedding at the Royal Lahaina Resort in Kaanapali. Our photographer was Trina, she was amazing. She answered all of our questions beforehand, w...
as very nice and easy to understand. She took beautiful photos of us!! We received them very quickly! I would highly recommend her!!!
We just got back our pics from our wedding in Maui and wanted to let others know about the photographer.
We hadn't heard much about them prior to booking them, and arent nearly ...
as common name in the photo business currently on Maui as others, but Stew Pinsky has been doing wedding photography on Maui for years.
He shot our wedding (We booked for 3 hrs of coverage only, no prints, books, etc) and did a fabulous job.
He was not obtrusive, was very laid back, and when we looked around we thought the pics taken in those areas would turn out good, but they turned out amazing. we were nervous about shooting at DT fleming beach due to the amount of people, but you dont even see any of them in the pictures. They did a good job with group pics, my only beef being the not so hot background, but there was little other options due to the sun positioning.
Our photos arrived in less than 3 weeks from wedding day, on 2 DVDs (800+ pics). The only thing I wish i would have done different is have him tell me when the wisps of hair were straight up or in my face, I've got a little editing to do to get them out. I'm excited to print the pics! Their prices sounded almost too good to be true, but it all turned out so well!!
When HGP asked me to write a review, i was SO glad they asked us as we wanted to share our experience with other potential couples considering using them.
We were so impressed wit...
h the quality of images they took we want to let everyone know that this company absolutely ROCKS!!
We were on a tight budget and Stew did his best to create a custom photo package that met our needs and our budget that we had to work with.
These guys gave us GREAT value and much more than what we expected.
The photos were Gorgeous! Every image looks like it can be out of a magazine.
I consider myself to be an average looking gal and Stew made me look like a fashion model.
Not only did he make us feel very comfortable, but he went above and beyond to make sure that we were ok throughout the day.
After 3 hours of driving to different locations and believe me when i say Stew took us to some secret spots that were not known to too many people and we were able to get the best backdrops.
About a week after the wedding the photo disc arrived with over 1000+ images to select from.
Our main request was to have the rights to the images and to our surprise that was their policy. So we got everything he shot and full release to them all:)
All in all, i rate this company 5 stars and if they are available on your wedding date you would be lucky to get them!
We were so impressed that we actually booked our first "married couple" photo session with Stew when we return next year for our annual Maui vacation.
My fiance and I were vacationing in Maui and found Hula Girl Photography to shoot our engagement photos. We liked their pics and their prices. We spoke to Stew a couple of times on...
the phone and we met him at a beach he recommended. First, let me say that the beach was busy. In many of our images, there are people or limbs in the background. Second, my slip is showing in at least 50% of the pictures... rendering them unusable :( Had he simply asked me to either pull my dress down a bit or let me know it was showing, it could have easily been fixed. Finally, I pointed out a place where I thought we could get some GREAT pics and he turned it down.
All in all, our photos are okay. I would not use Hula Girl Photography again. I wish we would have paid the extra couple of hundred dollars and used someone else.
Great to work with. Pretty happy with the outcome of the pictures. Wish she would have paid attention to detail- my ring being straight in the pictures and telling me when there is...
a hair out of place. These are my only complaints.
Stewart from Hula Girl is great. He made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and took some really gorgeous pictures at our wedding. We wish he had been paying a little more ...
attention to details while taking our pictures though - my husband's hair is crazy because of the wind and it ruins many pictures, it's something I think he could have seen and corrected. Apart from that we were very satisfied with Hula Girl. We live abroad, and our photos came quickly. We still have to use their webpage to post our pictures, but don't foresee any problem with that.
We found Hula Girl Photography online and fell in love with some of their pics. They seems like the right fit, so we booked them and we couldn't be happier! They took amazing pic...
s at an affordable price and then sent us the disk with no restrictions. Additionally, we had a sunset wedding and they took pics of all of our guests on the beach with the sunset behind them so we were able to include a picture in each Thank You Card. Very professional, timely and fun! Thank you so much!
