I’m Yevhen Gulenko. I take photographs and make films. My wife, Julie, and I built Human Artist Photo + Cinema to capture weddings as they are—real and fleeting. I was born in Kyiv, came to the U.S. in 2002, and now I’m a husband and father of two. I once chased mastery. Now, I see meaning in small moments—a quiet morning, a lingering laugh, light before it fades. I take cold plunges, make music, lift kettlebells, and read. But mostly, I tell stories with a camera. I planned an elaborate elopement at a historic B&B spa, so a lot of one-on-one time was spent with our photographer and videographer. I personally felt it was the most import investment I made. I’m blown away by our photos and so grateful to have these precious moments saved as memories forever. Yevhen managed to capture the emotions of the day so well. He did such a phenomenal job capturing every little detail, moment, and emotion. He made us feel so comfortable and special. My husband usually hates photographers, but even he was impressed. Yevhen has an effortless, professional, and friendly style when he is with you which really makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. It was important to me to have bright clear looking photos without a bunch of filtering. I really loved our outdoor photos and our photos in the venue’s parlor. Yevhen is a master of light and really knows how to capture those gorgeous shots. My friends have commented that my pictures look like a high fashion magazine spread. We also got our photos back earlier than expected. We were told 4-5 weeks, and it was closer to 3 weeks. This was super exciting because I couldn’t wait to share them with friends and family. Do yourself a favor and hire Yevhen. He was organized, fun, and genuinely cared about making our wedding day special.

Yevhen gave us beautiful photos from our most important day! He was easy to work with and gave great instructions to help us look our best. I think having an engagement session like we did is also helpful to learn to work with each other. He planned with us weeks before to gather a timeline which was very helpful. We had a large group and he made sure we had shots with everyone on our list. He spent a great deal of time working with us to make sure we were in love with our album and our album is so special! I've never seen one quite like it with the acrylic cover and thicker pages, very high quality. It could possibly be helpful to see the photos in the moment during the shoot because there were one or two that are great, but that I did not expect to be closeups. They provided special shots we specifically asked for like a wide lens to incorporate entire church and ceiling. We appreciate his attention to detail and have photos we will forever cherish.

Yehven, Serhii, and the team were very professional and good at what they do! We are very happy with the final product of the pictures and we were able to get plenty of photos to capture more moments throughout the day, which was really important to us, so we were very grateful he was able to accommodate our request and give us more digital copies than he usually does. As the name indicates, they are very artistic and capture stunning shots including many with beautiful framing and backgrounds, we just wish we had a few more traditional, more close-up photos looking at the camera. But aside from that, all the photos were undeniably beautiful. We were also blown away by our videographer! Both the short highlight and extended 90 minute version capturing most of our big moments were beautifully edited with smooth transitions, great music selection, and excellent quality. For what you are getting as a combination of photos and video, the price was pretty reasonable, especially as some comparable videography is considerably more expensive.

We hired Yevhen (Human Artist Photography) for our wedding, and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision. The pictures are beautiful. Yehven and his assistant were professional, and were great at working with our guests. It rained on our wedding day, so we couldn't do some of the outdoor photos we had planned, but Yevhen was so good at pivoting, and coming up with great shots at our venue, that we didn't miss any of the outdoor photos. Yevhen and his crew far exceeded our expectations! I cannot recommend enough. I found him here on the knot and I was absolutely blown away by his work. He is so detail oriented and meticulous with every detail. My husband and I come from very large Puerto Rican and Italian families and Yevhen was incredible with wrangling everyone for the perfect shots. It ended up raining on our wedding day, we panicked because we are not local to Cleveland so I didn’t even know where to begin looking for backup venues for pics after the church, on top of that our wedding was a Friday so a lot of the courthouses and state buildings were not available. The Tues before our wedding he recommended we call Severance Hall and I am SO GRATEFUL. We were able to take photos there after our ceremony and we were BLOWN AWAY. The combination of Yevhens work with the stunning architecture of the hall truly made our wedding album complete. I cannot recommend these guys enough!

Yevhen was absolutely AMAZING. I could not have asked for anything more. He did a fabulous job capturing every aspect of our day, from the morning shots, to the church ceremony, to the evening dancing and everything in between. If you are looking for a fantastic photographer for your special day, Human Artist is the photographer you need. Yehven did a wonderful job photographing all the special moments on my wedding day. Prior to the day we had several calls to go over the flow of the day. This helped us get more comfortable with Yehven as well as getting a better idea of how the day will go. On the wedding day, Yehven was prompt, patient, extremely organized and super flexible. He was able to capture photos that we expected as well as many others. We could not be any happier with how the day turned out. Another bonus is that Yehven was able to provide us sneak peaks of some photos very quickly after the wedding as well as getting all of our digital photos back to us quicker than we were expecting. Human Artist is the photography dream team! I knew they were the one for us when I looked on their website and Instagram and saw the striking photos with beautiful colors and incredibly happy couples looking so natural. They have been a joy to work with since the very beginning of our wedding planning. They are very responsive to all emails (always got back to us within a few hours) and if you’re an antsy bride like I am, this was super important to me. They met with us twice to go over what we wanted for the wedding day. They worked with our schedule since we were planning this wedding from a different state, and they made the process a stress-free experience. Absolutely incredible photographers. Yevhen and Julie were a pleasure to work with. They were professional, sweet, and incredibly accommodating. Our pastor said they were the most respectful photographers he had ever worked with at a wedding. My husband's grandmother couldn't make it to the ceremony, and they drove out to her retirement home after the ceremony so that we could get family portraits with her, which are the last portraits we have of her before she passed and will be treasured forever. The photos themselves turned out absolutely stunning, and the turnaround time was pretty quick! I love the dramatic lighting, and they told us exactly what to do in each shot to make sure they turned out amazing. I could not recommend them more highly.

We made the best decision to use Yev and Julie for our photographers ! From the moment we met them we knew we made the right decision. They are very talented and our pictures were truly amazing ! Our save the dates and thank you cards were sent directly to our house with envelopes and all! Our wedding album is one of a kind, we have never seen something so beautiful and special ! Yev and Julie became our friends and are truly amazing people! One of my bridesmaids actually hired them the night of my wedding ! Their work is seriously second to none !

I truly enjoyed working with Yevhen and Julie. Yevhen really took the time to get to know us during our planning sessions, and kept us on track with our schedule the day of, which was really helpful because I tend to lose track of time in everything I do! Yevhen and Julie were able to capture the most incredible moments ever. Every time I look back at our photos I find a new favorite. Every single photo was flawless. Yevhen service can easily be described in three words..over the top! From day one of meeting him, he was super accommodating as I was working full time, finishing my degree as a full time student and planning a big wedding! He was very considerate of scheduling and if something came up last minute and my fiancé and I couldn’t make it, he made sure to be able to reschedule around our schedules! He helps you put together a timeline of the wedding day and gives you a perfect idea of what to expect. The day of the wedding he was very punctual on time, and very patient with my 23 person wedding party. Him and his partner Julie really know how to work behind the cameras! Im usually very shy with pictures as is my now husband, and they knew how to get a genuine smile out of you! One thing I loved is how even though it wasn’t planned, he made sure we could stop home to take pictures with our fur babies in between the ceremony and reception! My photographs came back BEAUTIFUL, and there were plenty of them! I would definitely recommend The Human Artist Photography to any and everyone getting married!

My husband and I had an excellent experience with Human Artist Photography. From our first meeting, to our engagement photo session, our wedding day, and after, Yevhen and Julie were extremely professional and lovely to work with. Yevhen has great artistic vision and works to get the perfect shots that are downright magical! We have hundreds of beautiful photos from our wedding day. Yevhen also specializes in wedding books, which is one of the many reasons we wanted to work with him, and we're so glad we did. Our wedding book is absolutely stunning!! It's the most beautiful wedding book we've ever seen. The quality is superb. Everyone we've shown it to has been blown away! We love the metallic sheen on the photos, and the lighting and color in every photo is breathtaking. We will truly treasure our wedding book forever. To start- So so very talented and kind-hearted! I should also preface this review with how particular and picky I tend to be, but the work by Human Artist put me at ease! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Yevhen and Julie’s work. They are the perfect duo, and they invest fully in not only your special day, but also in all the planning leading up to it that could involve photos—the couple of course, engagement, day-of timeline, sentimental pieces, theme/couple’s taste, and the overall people involved! Their efforts and complete devotion to their work are clear. For total transparency... If you’re concerned about cost, their pricing is more than reasonable and fair for the byproduct, art, and experience that you receive. If you spend more in one area than others for your wedding, you won’t regret that area being photographer and photos! Human Artist is fantastic and well worth it! Definitely recommend going with them if you’re in northeast Ohio. And I’m 110% confident that they would also do amazing work for a non-wedding event or shoot. Their site and portfolio prove that! The best of the best. When I first saw Yevhens work on social media I was blown away. He did our engagement photos and I knew we made the right choice for our wedding. On wedding day he was organized and determined to stay on schedule and kept the chaos in check. I couldn't have asked for more. We even got a sneak peak on instagram hours after our wedding which was awesome to show to family and friends the next day! Cannot wait for the final photos. Spend your money on a great photographer!

Human Artist Photography is a MUST to use for your wedding photographer! Yevhen is such an amazing photographer and takes STUNNING pictures. We did out engagement session with him and Julia and they made us feel so comfortable and we genuinely had fun hanging out with them. The day of the wedding, Yev was on time and ready to work. He knows exactly how to instruct people to take the best pictures possible. Our entire bridal party was raving about him. The most impressive thing that Yev brings to the table is how responsive he is. I would email him and shortly after I would get an email back. It put my mind at ease knowing I could reach him when I wanted to. He is very approachable and make you feel very comfortable when you are working with him. He truly loves his job and it shows in his photos. I 100% recommend using him as your wedding photographer. He was just AMAZING!

Yevhen and Julie are hands down two of the most impressive photographers you will ever met. Working with them was an absolute dream at our wedding in Cabo San Lucas. They spent days photographing our wedding, our mid day trips to the pool, came with us to town to capture candid moments, our sweltering wedding, our wild reception... they went ABOVE AND BEYOND in every way possible. They spent an hour after our reception making my dreams come true for the perfect Pinterest photo remake under nearly impossible lighting conditions. They literally climbed mountains (like an actually rock formation in Cabo) barefoot and got sunburnt just to make sure we had incredible photos. Everyone adored them - EVERYONE. Each and every person in our group of 40 came up to tell us how amazing they thought they were. When they headed home we were so sad to see them go. Luckily, we have an event back home and we get to spend another fabulous night with them! They have truly become our friends. They are incredibly talented photographers and incredible human beings that worked so hard to capture every detail of our wedding - despite 95 degree heat, sunburnt feet, a crabby hot bride (me), and scraped up shins (oops Julie!). I can’t say enough amazing things about them, literally - they made our day complete.
