Kim was excellent to work with and I highly recommend her! She is so kind and easy to talk to, responded quickly, and was very open about pricing. She was able to make a 4 tier cake for us on pretty short notice. Most importantly, the cake was absolutely delicious. I usually don't like wedding cake because it tends to be dry and not very flavorful but Kim's cake was one of the best cakes I've ever had. We got so many compliments on the taste! She offers many flavor combinations which helped us make something special for our wedding. She even made small sugar kumquats to put on our cake (we had a citrus theme). We are so happy we went with Kim for our wedding cake!
Kim was amazing from start to finish. She made the most incredible cakes for our tasting and was professional throughout the whole process. She listened to my ideas and used her talent to produce a true piece of edible art. She was always easy to reach either via phone or email which I appreciated. Overall she made the most stunning cake that I could have imagined! The cake speaks for itself. It tasted as good as it looked. She has some of the most delicious flavors and her buttercream frosting is exactly what buttercream frosting should be. If you're lucky enough to work with her she will make your wedding cake dreams come true!! Looking forward to the anniversary cakes we hope she'll make for us for years to come :)
Can I give more than 5 stars?! Kim was nothing short of amazing! From the tastings to the final product. She was more than accommodating, she gave us tips and her professional opinions. She was quick on email responses and truly made it a dream to work with her. The cake she made us for truly belongs in a wedding magazine. Our guests were and still are raving about our cakes and the flavors! Truly amazing!
We had tried several other popular Cleveland bakeries before our tasting with Kim and were struggling to find the quality and taste we were searching for. Our tasting with Kim in her home was one of the best wedding planning experiences I had! From the adorable set up on the back porch, complete with fresh iced coffee, to the exceptional flavors, I am so glad that I came across her! She created a beautiful 5 tier wedding cake (from a couple photos I provided) along with cupcakes for our dessert table, and we could not have been happier with the results! Our guests loved the flavors and we had just a couple slices left at the end of the night that we were able to take with us for later. Highly highly recommend!
Kim is such a wonderful person and so easy to work with. She is professional, knowledgable, personable, kind and easy to communicate with. She took our vision and made the most perfect cake. It was absolutely stunning and the most delicious cake we have ever eaten - and our wedding guests agreed!

Kim at Hummingbird Bake Shop was exceptional. My partner, Annie, found her while searching through Instagram. We didn't want your typical bake shop and love working with local, small businesses. When we met Kim for the initial tasting, we knew immediately that she was the person for us.
We challenged her by requesting a cake that incorporated marbled fondant, gold leaf accents, and edible sugar crystals. She delivered on this challenge and designed the perfect cake, including each and every one of our design requests as well as our colors (icy blue, blush, grays, silvers and golds).
The flavors, although hard to decide, were outrageous. We chose lavender honey with Bavarian cream, and chocolate sea salt caramel with chocolate ganache. Each flavor she offered was different and delicious; it was incredibly hard to decide, but all of our guests were happy with our decisions.
Kim's attention to detail and willingness to try something different made this experience one of our favorites. We cannot wait to work with Kim again in the future - true talent and exceptional work.
I cannot emphasize how amazing our wedding cake was! Kim was wonderful to work with - she gave us multiple tastings, we were so undecided - and everyone loved the cake. It looked fabulous and tasted wonderful - enough said :)
Kim was an absolute joy to work with. One of the things I most enjoyed about the wedding planning process was getting to know talented, inspiring female business owners in the Cleveland area, and Kim was no exception. We ended up going with a salted caramel and chocolate cake and a lemon cake with lime and raspberry filling--something I never would have thought of on my own but was exactly what we wanted. I feel like we got something so special and unique with Kim! Her caramels were great for the hotel gift bags too!
Kim was so wonderful to work with! She was patient and inventive as we worked to come up with a unique wedding cake alternative (ice cream sandwiches!) and she helped us stay on budget by letting us handle the ice cream purchase and delivery. I really loved Kim's sense of flavor - she had the most creative, unique flavor combination ideas for our little sammies! I trusted her so much that I asked her to surprise us on the flavor of our little cutting cake and she did not disappoint! I highly recommend Kim - she was so great to work with and really provides a superior product!
Hummingbird bake shop is absolutely wonderful! She basically catered the desserts for our entire wedding weekend! Kim had us over to her house to taste test her cakes and desserts, even gave us some wine to complete the tasting! Kim was a dream to work with! We started off with her homemade ice cream sandwiches (which were the best I've ever had!) for our rehearsal dinner. Our 3-tiered wedding cake was very elegant and simple and tasted incredible and she also made us a delicious dessert bar! She also made us yummy caramels as our favors! It was all perfect!
We had a wonderful experience with Hummingbird Bake Shop. After trying several bakeries, we were charmed by the beautiful tasting Kim held for us at her house. She created several mini-cakes for us to sample, each of which was more delicious than the last! We settled on a 3 tier white cake with raspberry buttercream, and a sheet cake of lemon cake with lemon curd and strawberry buttercream. The cake was beautifully decorated, just as we discussed and even more tasty than I remembered!
Everything was handled with the upmost professionalism, and personal service. We would highly recommend Hummingbird for any of your Cleveland area bakery needs!
