Huntcliff River Club

My partner and I chose the Huntcliff River Club for our wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect! The view of the Chattahoochee River and the big, beautiful windows in the reception space were great for our simple wedding reception. Marianne was fantastic to work with. She was always super helpful, and it wasn’t difficult to bring in outside vendors. I would recommend Huntcliff to anyone!

My intimate wedding was held on June 12th(original date was September 26 2020) but due to COVID-19 we had to postpone. We had the pleasure of working with Maryanne throughout our wedding planning. She is absolutely wonderful! We hired outside vendors for catering and design decor. She worked with my vendors with no issues. We had the entire clubhouse with the wrap around porches. The views of the Chattahoochee River were beautiful. We were able to take wedding photos out on the dock as well. I highly recommend Huntcliff River Club! Thank you Maryanne for everything!! We will never forget this day!

Marianne at the Huntcliff River Club was a pleasure to work with. She made it easy and hassle free. The room was perfect and with great weather the upstairs balcony with heaters was just what we needed! The view was wonderful and I know our outdoor pictures will be perfection! I highly recommend this space for a wedding or any party!

We held our annual lacrosse party at the Huntcliff River Club and it was held without a hitch! Ken set the tables just as we requested and the place was clean and ready for us. What a beautiful setting for a social gathering! Marianne is so wonderful to work with and attentive to our needs. Thank you for helping us host a memorable evening for all!!!

I had my wedding at Huntcliff River Club. It was the easiest decision of the entire wedding! Marianne was so helpful, constantly keeping me updated with Covid regulations. She even came to the venue the day of to get an extra table, and ended up staying to help. The whole Huntcliff Team made my dream wedding a dream come true! They helped me every step of the way and I wouldn't change one thing!

We held a small, Covid appropriate wedding at the Huntcliff clubhouse in July 2020. The venue was spotless, adhered to all rules needed for even a small event and bent over backwards in every way for us. The professional kitchen was perfect for our dinner. The backdrop of the Chattahoochee through the floor to ceiling windows was spectacular. When the drizzle stopped, the sun dried the ground quickly and we had our dozen guests stand outside at the last minute for the wedding ceremony on the banks of the river!

Huntcliff a River Club is the best kept secret for a wedding venue in all of Atlanta. Hands down. From the moment I inquired about the venue, Marianne was prompt and met with me and helped me through the process. We were able to rent the venue for the entire day at no extra cost so the vendors like the florist could arrive early to decorate and set up. My daughters wedding was in February so the outdoor wedding was pending on the weather which ended up being a spectacular day but I had until a few hours before the ceremony to move it inside if we needed to. That’s such a stress reliever when your daughter wants an outdoor venue. Their suggestions for vendors were excellent and the best part was we got to bring in our own wine and beer which saved us tons of money. There was someone on sight during the ceremony but we never ran into any issues before, during or after the wedding. They even followed up with me to make sure I got my deposit back. Who does that?!?! My daughter used to ride horses and was thinking she wanted a barn wedding (looked into that but all so far away), but we were able to use the stables next to the club and got some gorgeous barn pictures without having to be out in the country. We got a military discount and I think we got more than our money’s worth working with fabulous people and the venue had a spectacular view of the Chattahoochee River and we got pictures with a sunset in the background. The reception was upstairs where 2 sides are all glass so you can see the outdoors and has a wrap around porch that was used by guests and had highboys and heaters. There weren’t a lot of hidden or extra costs. HRC is the best!! Five stars for sure.

My daughter just got married here and it was beautiful. The people that you work with are great. They kept us updating on everything and answered any questions we had promptly. The ceremony can either be inside or outside and which ever you choose the background of the river in the back is breathtaking. The reception area is a good size and the dance floor holds just the right amount of people. I definitely recommend this place.

The venue was amazing! Everyone really enjoyed the scenery! The river and trees were perfect for our photos! The lighting was spectacular for dining, dancing and photos! There was plenty of room for all of our guest (150 in all) and for the vendors to set up! Thank you to Mary Ann and all the neighborhood volunteers for making our day truly special!

I had a beautiful outdoor Fall wedding in October 2018 at Huntscliff to with the Chattahoochee River in the background. I could not have asked for a better location. A beautiful location, and beautiful indoor room with space for tables and a dance floor and even a side porch. The staff that worked were helpful and wanted to make the wedding special for me. Because I live in Argentina my mom was the primary liaison with Huntcliff until I arrived in the country. This location is not all inclusive, so it’s up to you to organize with other venders for food, decoration, etc. and therefore it’s a more affordable option than other wedding venues which frankly, aren’t as nice. Huntcliff provides and sets up chairs, tables, outdoor chairs, a nice kitchen, bathrooms, and one large room to get ready in. The most inconvenient thing was that I could not set up a day before the wedding or clean up the next day, so I had to set up in the morning, and fortunately others helped clean up afterwards that night. Also, it was kind of confusing because several different people from Huntcliff with different roles would be in contact with me, often times asking a question that I had answered when someone else from Huntscliff asked a few days earlier. I felt like communication with Huntcliff and among Huntcliff staff could be better. Otherwise it’s a beautiful place. For me it was a great fit with location/budget/beautiful place. Looking back, I am very glad and satisfied with choosing Huntscliff as my wedding venue.

My husband and I love the outdoors and we wanted a venue by water, so Huntcliff River Club was the perfect choice! From the beautiful setting to the super friendly and helpful staff, we were absolutely giddy to have found this spot. The outdoors needs no embelishments, as nature does its thing, and the indoor reception hall feels like a treehouse, because the floor to ceiling windows offer a delicious view of the trees and the river. It was the perfect venue for our intimate, 100-guest wedding. Marianne McGee, the site manager is a sweet, responsive and capable woman who really seems to care about your event. She was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home, when we first visited the site. After that, we made a few trips and finally booked Nancy, the on-site/day-of coordinator, who was incredible! The wedding would NOT have happened without here. At first, I thought I could do everything myself, but after the consultation, I realized that Nancy and her team were worth every penny. Nancy has impeccable taste and is a true professional. I would highly and happily recommend Huntcliff River Club (even though I kind of want to keep it a secret) and Nancy (wedbecomesher). My husband and I had a wedding to remember and people still can't stop talking about it...

We booked Huntcliff River club for our fall Wedding. Having always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, I knew this was the place when seeing the river as the backdrop for the ceremony. Everyone we worked with was fantastic and super flexible with our mostly-DIY wedding. Marianne was extremely responsive and everyone was accommodating when we planned the entire event outside (reception too). The setting is simply breathtaking, both outdoors and the river room. Everything about the venue feels like a million bucks without the cost. Could not have found a better venue. Thank you to all there who helped with our big day!

The Huntcliff River Club was the perfect spot for our wedding. We loved being right on the water and the reception room overlooked the river and was the perfect backdrop. It even has an elevator up to the 2nd floor which was perfect for my older grandmother. Marianne was great to work with and she was phenomenal at giving that bit of extra guidance for the little things I hadn't thought of. It was a perfect choice for us!

Huntcliff is the perfect balance of affordable and still really nice. The venue is a private clubhouse of a quiet neighborhood right on the Chattahoochee. The views of the river from the upstairs party room and the porches are the perfect backdrop, especially in the spring. The volunteers from the neighborhood who help are wonderful. We loved Marianne, the main point of contact, and Ken, who helped set up chairs and tables. They were both so friendly and wonderful. Huntcliff does also offer a free venue coordinator for the day of, but we could have done without. You do get the entire building for your event, for the entire day, from 7 am - 2 am, which is great to not be limited to 4 or 6 hours like other venues. Since it is, however, a "do-it-yourself" kind of venue, you need to come and do all your decorations the day of your event, which was my one disappointment. Not being allowed to set up the night before or clean up the morning after our wedding put a lot of stress on us to do everything all on our big day, which was already hectic. If you don't have a wedding planner or a ton of vendors to decorate and clean for you, just know you'll have to plan out a very busy, long day. And assign people to be your cleaners and packers of decor as your riding away in your getaway car. Besides that, I would totally recommend this venue! It's a great blank slate for any sort of wedding style you are going for, a little bit of rustic, clean and elegant, and very well maintained!

I cant believe I found such a cute place right on the river and quite affordable. Marianne worked with our needs. She was always available when ever we need to see the venue. Ken did a great job walking me through how to best set up the room and still have room to move around. The use of the grounds are extra for actual wedding, but a minimal fee. The valet is not optional and don't stay the whole time, makes me think whats the point, but again it is a minimal fee and still well within the budget. The room that is used for the bridal suite was an added bonus that worked out well for all my girls and I to have hair and makeup done. No additional room needed for day of, I really liked that. I couldn't be happier with our choice and recommend this adorable place to everyone! Thanks again to the staff for a perfect venue.

Omg!! After searching all over for venues with hearty prices , we were introduced to Marianne at Huntcliff. After viewing this breathtaking venue, and the unbelievable quoted price we absolutely did not hesitate to lock it in place. We used this venue for our wedding on 4/14/18 and all of our guest were just in aww of how this venue brought our “Special Day” together.. Marianne thanks so much for allowing us as non residentials to use such a beautiful Venue.. Thanks Again, JERRALD and JOSH

On Nov 18th, 2017 we rent it this place for our reception, the place was very charming and accommodating for all our guest. The club coordinator Ms. Marianne was very attentive to our needs and expectations, we recommend this place for our friends who likes quality service.

Our Wedding Day was perfect and selecting Huntcliff for our venue was a great decision. Everyone we worked with were very professional during the whole planning process and we did not have any hiccups! The best of both worlds - outside wedding and inside reception with having a Plan B in case of rain, but it did not rain!!!!

My June 24, 2017 outdoor wedding ceremony and reception was a phenomenal experience here at Huntcliff! From the follow up, keeping me updated, the set-up just how I wanted and that gorgeous view overlooking the Chattahooche was immaculate! My guests loved the venue and my husband was quite surprised as it was his first time seeing it at the rehearsal. Marianne, Elizabeth, Ken and Nancy all helped to make my day special and memorable. I would recommend anyone to make their special day at the Huntcliff River Club!

I have to say Marianne and her staff could not have done any more to make our day THE BEST. I highly recommend the Huntcliff River Club. The venue was clean and bright. Landscaping was sharp. The chairs and table set up perfectly. The day of our wedding it rained extremely hard. We had the wedding planned for outside by the river. Fortunately, Marianne helped move the ceremony to indoors. Our fortune continued, the venue had an elevator that allow the harpist to move her harp to the second floor...no small feat. Oh, the story continues, the ceremony start time was pushed back 30 mins to get everyone in place. During the 30 mins, the sun came back out. Her comes Marianne... She cheerfully moved us back outside, including the harpist. Dried the chairs.... By the time I made it outside it was sunny and beautiful...just like my bride. Service with a smile goes miles. I could go on but I think I've made my point. The venue, Marianne, and entire staff never let us down. Everything from rain to pinning boutonnieres. Handled. Priceless. Cheerfully. Professionally. We (Atlanta Country Day School) held our 2017 Graduation at The huntcliff River Club this past May and we couldn't be more happy with this decision! What a beautiful space! It comfortably fit our over 80 guests, who were all impressed and pleased. Marianne, the rental coordinator, was pleasant, accommodating, prompt, and extremely helpful in providing recommendations for caterers, insurance, etc. 5 STARS!!!

The positive: The venue itself is great! A great value for the price. The scenery is beautiful and the venue space is adequate for a small to moderate size wedding ceremony and reception. Working with Ken at the facility was awesome! He oversees setup for the wedding. He is easy to get in contact with via email or phone and was always helpful with providing any information I requested. Now the negative: (1) working with Holly will take a lot of patience. Initially, she was really nice, helpful and easy to work with. However, once you sign the contract, she literally is the most difficult person to deal with. She speaks to you like she's annoyed with you and she is difficult to reach via telephone or email. She literally stopped answering my wedding planner’s phone calls. (2) I initially contracted chivari chairs through Huntcliff at 4.00/chair which was a great deal. As my wedding drew near, I contacted Holly to ensure the chairs would be delivered and setup. At that time, Holly informed me that she was using a new vendor and I would have to work with that vendor directly…this was literally one month before my wedding! The new vendor she directed me to wanted my credit card information texted to her…I was not comfortable texting my credit card information to someone I did not know, and the price was much greater than the price originally quoted by Holly. (3) Prior to the wedding, I contacted Holly to ask if the concrete leading to the ceremony site could be pressure washed since it was really dirty. She refused to have the area pressure washed or allow me to pay for it to be washed. It looks really awful in my photos by the way (4) the valet service that you are forced to pay for was horrible. Holly failed to mention that the valet service closes at 9pm and if your wedding happens to not end at 9pm, the valet service will have your guest leave the reception to pick up their keys! Please, if you use this venue, make sure you discuss the details of the required valet service. My guest started to leave early due to this! In addition, the valet service also helped themselves to my open bar! They were literally in uniform going up to my bar getting drinks! Totally unprofessional and inappropriate! (5) Holly refused to allow me to use the white resin folding chairs that came with my contract outside for the ceremony. I did not understand why since I was paying for their use. I ended up renting both chivari chairs for the reception and white resin folding chairs for the ceremony through my wedding planner. (6) Also, please review your contract. My contract stated the Huntcliff site coordinator was optional so when I decided I did not need her services, Holly tried to tell me she was required. I promptly reminded her my contract did not state this and as a result I would not be paying for her services. The venue is great but please be aware of the issues you will face working with the site manager.

Huntcliff was a great place for our wedding venue! The setting is amazing. The guests had a LOT of fun, and I'm seeing a lot of their profile pictures being used from the setting at our wedding which shows they really enjoyed it. The reception room has a panoramic view of the river, and it is just beautiful! I'd like to leave a note about all the staff I used and their effectiveness. I'd also like to quickly mention that Bridge Catering was PHENOMENAL. They know this location. The owner is an exceptional cook and they really work well with you on your menu! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to go with this. 1) Nancy, the lady who coordinated seeing the venue and signing the contract. She was really sweet and helpful in our tour and showing where everything is located. Very informative with helping us get the contract signed and the steps that would follow afterward. 2) Nancy - the coordinator. 5/5 - Nancy was awesome. I'm surprised someone would leave her 0/5 in a previous review. They must not have worked with her so well. I had a caterer, cake (Publix), music, photographer, florist (Twelve Flowers - amazing!!) and videographer. They all came together real well and I didn't have to worry at all on the day of the wedding. Nancy helped keep everything going in the time/speed it needed to and provided a ton of peace of mind! Being there able to receive the vendors and help coordinate where everything and everyone needs to be at what time based on my requirements was SO HELPFUL. I was extremely happy to have her as part of the team! 3) Ken - Part of the Huntcliff package 5/5. Ken helps set up the chairs/tables/tablecloths in the venue to your request. About a month out he reaches out to you and asks for a floor layout. I sent my first draft and he is very quick to communicate and let me know what is good with it and what may work better for that location. He's very familiar with the layout here. He is very nice and very helpful! Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this wedding (and my beautiful wife!). Tons of photo ops! Fair rate! Great, great staff! I'd highly recommend this spot for anyone that wants an outdoor setting on the river! A couple more notes about their recommended vendors: 1) Desmond the Harpist - cancelled on me 3 days before my wedding because he "had to go out of the country" - he happens to be in college and that was the first weekend of Spring Break ... not sure how much he really didn't know about this in advance... Then he left me an e-mail for another harpist, but he wrote the wrong e-mail down. I tried to e-mail him back that the address he gave me was not deliverable, but he never got back to me until the day before the wedding. Really, really unprofessional. 2) EliteFloral - AWFUL lady. I tried to work with a quote she gave me (by the way, never even talked to me, just sent a quote) and this was her response: "Hi, You are at the minimum number now with all the items quoted. I am an event designer, not a flower shop.". I would not use this lady. Over-priced and does not work with you. At this point, Nancy recommended me to use Twelve Flowers which is located in midtown Atlanta. The guy at this shop (John MacDonald) was AWESOME. Flowers from there were perfect! 3) Bridge Catering - as I mentioned before - HIGHLY recommended. 4) Publix Bakery - the location is within a mile from the venue and the event coordinator at that location is great! No problems at all, very informative. Very helpful! Highly recommended!

5 stars for the physical venue, price, and Ken (setup guy) The Huntcliff River Club was beautiful for our November wedding and did not need extravagant decorations because of the beautiful outdoors. Ken was responsive and helped figure out the best setup for our 170 guests. 3 stars for Holly who was our main contact. In the beginning she was amazing! Responsive, helpful, and accommodating to our questions and requests. But a month out from our wedding, everything changed. She did not let us come in the day before to setup (when previously said we could) and was really short with me to explain this change. Then our family and friends organized the trash in a central location as they could not find the dumpsters in the dark and I did not share beforehand this part of the contract. Holly charged us per bag and said "it's contractual". Mind you we had to call her on our honeymoon to understand why we were being charged. She gave us no credit for having all the trash in bags in one spot. ZERO stars for the coordinator Nancy, that Huntcliff partners with. Holly did say she maybe be able to coordinate for our wedding, but as you can tell that didn't happen. We just paid for the day of coordinating so I understand that means less support. I tend to be overly organized so I felt good about all the information I shared with her beforehand. She seems to be a sweet person, but did the bare bones of a what you would hope someone would do. The reason we give her 0 stars is that she LEFT the wedding as soon as we were introduced at dinner, she did not help coordinate dinner, cake cutting, or the exit. Thank goodness for my friends and my DJ who made the rest of the night happen. I had a thank you note with gratuity ready for her, but she left so never got it and I'm glad she didn't get it. We give it 4 stars because the venue, price of it, and having Ken made it worth it. We love our wedding pictures and the sunset on the dock was stunning! Our wedding was an amazing day and this was the only negative experience of it. All in all my advice would be do not hire Nancy and be buttoned up with Holly.

Huntcliff River Club is a beautiful venue to have one’s wedding. I had the pleasure of being the wedding planner for the Rice-Venable wedding. The couple choose to have their wedding at Huntcliff, which I had never been to before I started working with them. This is a hidden gem in Sandy Springs. As I did the initial walk through of the venue, I was informed you have full access to the venue outside and inside for the whole day. That is great for photography in getting in plenty of scenery shots, which there are several areas on the grounds that provide a serene feel. There are even some horse stables on the grounds as well, which is great for pictures if you are going for that certain look. The outside was used for the ceremony, overlooking the Chattahoochee River, and the reception was held inside while cocktail hour was held on both terraces of both stories of the clubhouse. Holly Iyer, the venue coordinator of the Huntcliff River Club was great to work with at the property. In addition, I was in contact mostly with Ken Stein who was super awesome! Ken was able to show me all the bells and whistles with the venue, and assisted me greatly with the layout, and day of set up for the big day. He was always available even after normal work hours in preparation for the wedding, which I truly valued.
