Hunter and Sarah made the beginning of my engagement phenomenal. They perfectly captured my surprise proposal at a beautiful farmhouse, suggested by them too. Each photo is vibrant and full of our authentic character. Following the proposal, they led us through a 30-minute session with over 150 photos. Each pose felt natural and highlighted our love for each other. Thank you for the efficiency, focus on capturing our story, and wonderful editing!

Choosing a wedding photographer was one of the hardest parts of wedding planning for us and I'd argue one of the most important decisions. Once we met with Hunter & Sarah, I knew we'd found the right fit and then the experience was even better than I'd hoped! The photos are absolutely beautiful but even more importantly, they captured so many sweet candid moments and the images really tell the story and evoke all of the memories and feelings from that weekend. Every time we look through our albums or the massive online gallery, I feel like I get to relive it all again and find a new favorite image. Beyond just the final results, the experience of working with Hunter and Sarah from start to finish was so smooth, professional and fun. They clearly know what they're doing and have thought through all of the logistics / FAQs so everything happened flawlessly. And they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and it felt so natural having them with us all weekend. It felt like having another set of friends with us which is really SO important for such an intimate, emotional day!

My (now) Fiance and I had a wonderful experience with Hunter and Sarah. Not only were they professional and brought great ideas to the shoot, they were personable and sensitive to the fact that I had just gotten proposed to a minute before the photos and were all around awesome to work with! We loved our pictures and they really took time to put thought into how to make these special moments translate to the perfect photos!

We had a great experience working with Hunter and Sarah for our wedding in October 2023! We loved having a couple duo as our photographers, and Hunter and Sarah made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Having an engagement shoot with Hunter and Sarah was a huge bonus too. It gave us time to get to know each other and made being in front of the camera on our wedding day even more fun. They showed us how to pose for certain shots but also let us be our candid selves. And the photos they delivered from our wedding day turned out so well! We love the mix of artsy, black & white, and just fun pictures they were able to capture. We seriously cannot recommend them highly enough!

Great wedding photographers! Hunter and Sarah made the photography portion of our big day so stress free. From directing us in ways that made our pictures not feel overly posed and keeping us laughing so loud ur smiles were totally genuine, I can not recommend them enough if you’re planning a wedding!

We LOVED working with Hunter and Sarah for our engagement and wedding photography. They make a great team, and their presence instantly put us at ease when we met in-person for the first time for our engagement photos. They are both so easy to talk to and incredibly calming to be around, which was important for us as we are both a bit nervous in front of a camera. Both have great eyes for lighting and details, which yielded some absolutely incredible pictures for both our engagement and wedding pictures. I also loved how great they were at capturing some candid moments particularly during our wedding — they are always keeping an eye out for a good moment to capture. We appreciate how good they were at managing other parties involved in pictures too (family, bridal party, groomsmen). They’re true professionals. They did a great job working with our slightly nervous dog, and we now have some amazing family photos with the three of us to look back on forever. I also SO appreciated that Sarah was able to bustle my wedding dress — she did it so quickly and I couldn’t have imagined trying to figure that out with my bridesmaids. My parents commented on how much they liked Hunter and Sarah and how great a job they did — the two of them are excellent photographers and overall amazing people with the best hearts. Finally, the heirloom wedding album they put together for us is so fantastic!! While we only ordered the physical copy yesterday, we can’t wait to receive it. We’d hire Hunter and Sarah over and over again! We really can’t recommend them enough.

Hunter and Sarah were the perfect choice for us from start to finish. As people who weren't exactly eager to participate in multiple photoshoots, Hunter and Sarah made us comfortable as soon as we had our initial video chat. They were flexible in scheduling and shooting our engagement session, and taught us everything we needed to know before wedding day. On the big day itself, they kept things light and easy and produced some amazing photos that we'll cherish forever. Highly recommend them to anyone!

We hired Hunter and Sarah to capture our surprise engagement at Barboursville Vineyards near Charlottesville, VA – they were simply amazing! Hunter and Sarah truly delivered on a number of fronts … For starters, they are excellent communicators. They helped me (the husband-to-be) plan engagement day logistics by offering detailed descriptions of the venue ahead of time (plus a satellite map with stage directions!). They offered priceless advice on things like, what time of day to propose in order to catch the best light, and how to handle the arrival times of visiting family so that they are where they need to be without spoiling the surprise. They coordinated with the managers of the venue to ensure we have the access that we need. They also gave effective stage directions to everyone in real-time, which was incredibly helpful. Everything was executed with tact, professionalism, and warmth/kindness. Oh and, did I mention… the photos came out fantastic! We would definitely recommend Hunter and Sarah, whatever your special occasion may be.

I cannot say enough good things about Hunter and Sarah! They photographed our proposal, engagement photos, rehearsal dinner and wedding and could not have done a more wonderful job with each event. Sarah and Hunter created beautiful one-of-a-kind images of my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding - not your usual cookie cutter stuff :). They were also very communicative and wanted to make sure we got all the images we wanted, with any number of family combinations! For a small additional fee they are also willing to travel hours to do your engagement shoot at your chosen spot, (which my daughter and son did, at their favorite spot in DC), since the engagement shoot - a part of all their packages - is really an integral part of their whole process of getting to know you, getting you comfortable, and making sure they capture beautiful images when your special day arrives. Sarah and Hunter were epically amazing! Exceptionally professional and knew excatly how to get the shots! Both were really helpful on our wedding day when last minute not cool changes happened and they made sure we still did everything we planned! Sarah even helped me get ready and stay focused! Not to mention there exceptionally knowledgeable when it came to the engagement photos I wanted a place like Pride an Prejudice and I got it! Again almost didn't happen due to weather but we tested the odds and it was so beautiful. I would definitely book them for your wedding!

Hiring Hunter and Sarah as our wedding photographers was not only one of the easiest decisions while wedding planning, but also one of the best. From the planning stages to the big day, they made sure to honor our vision and wishes — helping to create the timeline and organize the day as smoothly as possible. Choosing Hunter and Sarah was one of the absolute best decisions we made throughout the entire wedding process. We first used them for our engagement session in Charlottesville, and then for our wedding. I cannot recommend them highly enough--they are extremely organized, professional, kind, and just a joy to be around. Our guests universally praised the photos, but beyond that, they also knew how to make people comfortable and meshed well with our wedding party (important since they are effectively embedded for a day!). Plus, with both Sarah and Hunter they are able to present with both parties at once-- guarantee you that there is not a better duo out there! Book them! You will not regret it. We ended up relying on them so much, and they went above and beyond in every way. They were excellent advocates and worked to rearrange the schedule so that we had time to do what we needed to do. They were patient and understanding, and, frankly, just the best.

Hunter and Sarah helped make our engagement special and memorable! Although Hunter and Sarah typically hide to capture proposals, they completely changed their plans for us when I accidentally found out that my boyfriend (at the time) scheduled photos for us. They set up a fall couples shoot and after a few shots they set me up to turn around and be completely surprised with a proposal! They then gave my fiance and I a moment to reflect, and then we jumped into some more pictures. Hunter and Sarah were able to model poses for us and they were so easy to work with. We highly recommend this wonderful photography team for your engagement and wedding photos!!!

Absolutely fabulous job with our photography. They were professional, extremely timely, and kind. They made an effort to get to know bridal party/groomsmen and family members. The pictures always arrived quickly after engagement photos and the wedding. They know what they're doing! I was also pleasantly surprised by the really neat black and white trendy/blurred images scattered through our gallery. They are obviously keeping up with photography trends. They will also make sure that you get all of the shots that you want. We were working on a tight timeline with no first look and our wedding buses arriving an hour late (UGH!) and I am still satisfied with the number of photos that we got. They were probably our favorite vendor, I highly recommend hiring this pair.

Working with both Hunter & Sarah was an absolute pleasure! We initially met with them via video call, where we got to learn more about their services, who they are as a husband & wife team and knew right away they were our photographers. They were extremely kind, professional, accommodating, and flexible to our needs (even when we had to change the date/location of our wedding with just a few months' notice)! They were so patient with us and guided us through the entire process seamlessly. Both Hunter & Sarah truly made my husband and I feel so comfortable being in front of the camera. Hunter & Sarah are the greatest photography duo, beyond what we could have even possibly hoped for. Between an amazing engagement shoot in a snow storm, and a beautiful wedding at Castle Hill Cider, they made it such a fun and comfortable experience. And the finished product is as good as it gets. Every time I show our photos to someone, they generally gasp and say something like, “wow, this looks like it’s from a magazine.” They’re that good! Hire them!

Having worked with with Hunter and Sarah in a professional manner before, we knew from the beginning that we wanted them to do our photography! From the very first zoom meeting to the big day, they felt like more like friends than anything else! They accepted our quirkiness and worked around crazy families and wild moments with zero judgements. During our engagement shoot, we were blown away with the positions they put themselves in to get the perfect shot. Talk about commitment! And the proof is definitely in the stunning pictures. Leading up to the big day, they helped guide us through timeline and shot lists, making everything that much easier. If there is anything a couple can appreciate, is someone taking some of the stress of their shoulders. Their reminders and lists were beyond helpful and kept me prepared. On the big day they not only showed up early and ready to roll, they came with an arsenal of back ups and emergency items I could have easily forgotten, I mean down to even having bottles of water for us when taking pictures in the hot sun! Hunter and Sarah took me out of my self conscience mind and brought out a confidence in me that I didn't even know I had! They were even able to get my Husband to loosen up for the pictures! Such amazing detail was put into each shot, with clear direction and such precise positioning to make sure we looked our absolute best. The way Hunter and Sarah play off each other and can anticipate each others next move is beyond mesmerizing to watch. I truly believe that is what leads to their magazine worthy photos. I will cherish the moments I had with Sarah when we were waiting to be called up, it probably seemed like nothing big to her but she was a support I didn't even know I needed. They are way more than just wedding photographers. The biggest take away I can give is, you will be spending a HUGE chunk of your day with your photographers, you want to be surrounded by uplifting, professional yet FUN people who you can just jive with and let me tell you, Hunter and Sarah are those people! When we started researching wedding photographers, Hunter and Sarah’s photography style immediately caught our eye. We could not find another photographer who seemed to capture couples’ wedding days so well. In our first zoom session with Hunter and Sarah, we learned about them and their process and we really felt like we clicked with them. They are extremely responsive, professional, friendly, and organized, and created several variations of wedding day timelines for us soon after we booked them. They are the perfect wedding photographers and made us feel so comfortable in front of their cameras. Hunter and Sarah did an amazing job on the photography for our wedding as well as two engagement sessions. They were very responsive throughout the three shoots that spanned about a year and a half. They were very fun to work with and immediately made us feel comfortable even though we were initially nervous in front of the camera. We also loved how they were able to demonstrate poses they wanted us to do, as they are married. All three times we got the pictures back sooner than promised and they were all amazing. The best in the business!!!!! Hunter and Sarah are two of the most talented and sweetest people you'll ever meet. Not only are they excellent photographers who are knowledgeable and are constantly improving, but they also are incredibly efficient, organized, helpful and supportive. Best photographers we could have asked for! Using them was definitely the best decision we made for our wedding. They are sweet, generous, and take amazing photos. They were so easy to work with. I don't like being photographed and immediately felt at ease posing and working with them. On the wedding day, they were with us for getting ready, the entire ceremony, and the entire reception. Most of the night I don't actually remember seeing them but then magically they were there hiding in plain site. I really can't say enough amazing things about these two!

Looking back at our big day on July 30, 2022, we are left with one feeling—pure bliss. The day was met with love, laughter, excitement, moments of serenity, and support all around. My husband and I have developed friends that have impacted our lives in ways unimaginable. Near and far, those loved ones traveled to celebrate our love for each other. It was a gift that will be within our hearts for a lifetime. Two of those beautiful people were our photographers, Hunter and Sarah Sheldon. Anyone can be a vender these days, but you will walk away with friends for a lifetime going with these two. Though my husband knew the Sheldons far before I did, I feel like we have never missed a beat. Just looking at the photos I see my true self and the love between us, as well as our guests, jumping off the screen and the prints. Those friends that were able to make it are imprinted in a forever memory and calling them our family is that much more easy. Our photos are breathtaking: light, airy, romantic, and true, with a whole lot of goof and party. From start to finish the day is followed beautifully, and picking the photos to put to print was so painstakingly hard, we are STILL going back and forth between moments to include because they are all THAT good. Needless to say… our coffee table book is going to be BIG. But hey, we should have known that going into hiring this fantastic duo. Upon first consultation, a key value of hiring them came to light: they themselves are husband and wife. What does that mean? They KNOW what goes into a union, they KNOW what mini moments to capture, and they KNOW what the other needs to either get the shot desired or delivering the support in finding the moments to praise. We may be referred to Mr. and Mrs. Kirby now, but our own spirits and uniqueness are captured in these photos. Hunter and Sarah are the absolute best!! We cannot recommend them enough for all of your photography needs! We used them for both our engagement session and our wedding and could not be more in love with the photos. They captured everything from the classic photos, to the candids, to the details. Absolutely the best! We were so comfortable for our engagement photos. All the photos turned out so wonderful, we had trouble deciding which to use on our save the dates and invites. They are very responsive to our questions and their hands-on step by step approach made the whole process very smooth and easy. Hunter and Sarah are a very efficient team! During our wedding, they knew exactly what photographs they wanted to take which allowed us to spend more time with our guests. Not to mention our wedding was at a vineyard up on a mountain in a treacherous snowy condition, Hunter and Sarah did not keep us long at all for outdoor photos and they captured the best for both couple and candid shots!! We love the experiences they captured and they have gone above and beyond in all aspects of delivering.

Hunter and Sarah were a blast to work with. We did a video call when we first were introduced and we loved their passion and personalities right away. They work so well together and were flexible with making it work in our vision and budget with them. It is a game changer to be able to do our engagement photos and wedding photos. This gave us time to get to know each other more, and it was such a fun experience and they knew the area so well. They are great at communicating and response time. Run, don't walk, to hire Hunter and Sarah as your wedding photographers! They were incredible from start to finish. Even in the busiest wedding season, Hunter and Sarah never made us feel like "one more couple." Our friends and family raved about their photos and just how lovely they were to work with. Photos didn't feel like a chore at the wedding!

I'm genuinely not even sure where to start this review. From the moment my husband and I jumped onto a Zoom meeting with Hunter and Sarah, we just knew. The chemistry was instantaneous, they were incredibly knowledgeable, their in syncness with each other was a huge pro, and they were so genuinely warm and friendly it made working with them a breeze. We had our engagement photos with them and we had so much fun, constantly laughing and any awkwardness we walked in with instantly melted away. As for the day of, they were so professional and sweet, even when things were hectic and held up their schedule a bit, but overall they stayed on top of things, going with the flow and making the entire process so easy and for a bride that means so much. Not only did we get our photos early but they are breath taking. Every single photo is flawless and my husband and I could not be happier with how they turned out. We know for a fact we picked the right team to do our photos and we are so grateful to have worked with them. we hope to be able to do it again in a few years for an anniversary or just because. they are not only phenomenal photographers but they are really great people.

Hunter and Sarah were so kind and communicative for our surprise proposal photo shoot! They were helpful throughout the whole planning process leading up to the big day, and sent multiple emails confirming location, timing, and even included a number of tips on how to propose. We had some bad weather the morning of the proposal, and Hunter and Sarah were flexible and able to push back by a few hours to wait out the rain. After the proposal, they gave us some time to process the moment together before jumping in and capturing some of the most beautiful shots. Their passion for photography is so evident! The photos were beautiful and I really liked the variety of black and white vs. color. They also turned them around a lot quicker than I expected! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to capture a surprise proposal! Thank you Hunter and Sarah for helping us remember one of the most special days ever!"

My husband and I are so grateful that we chose Hunter and Sarah as our wedding photographers! From our first conversation together, they made us feel comfortable and could tell that they were compassionate and experienced! Not only did our photos turn out amazing, but they were timely with answering all of our questions and were flexible to incorporate all of the moments that were meaningful to us as a couple. One of our top priorities was capturing the natural beauty of our mountain venue, and they nailed it!

Hunter & Sarah were a dream to work with! We had several wedding guests comment on how much they loved our photographers. Even from the beginning stages of planning H&S were there to help and make things as stress-free as possible. The fact that they are a real-life couple was a really nice touch and they were able to talk us through all the poses to make sure we felt comfortable the entire time. Hunter and Sarah were our favorite vendors to work with for our wedding. We had scoured the internet for weeks looking for a photographer team that had the style we wanted and the experience and expertise to capture our day. We had interviewed a handful of photographers and Hunter and Sarah were the last team we met. We knew immediately that they were the photographers for us. They were well prepared for the meeting, showed us full albums so we could get the feel for what to expect from them and they asked us “What is the most important part of the day for you two?” No other photographer had asked us that. My husband typed on a notepad on the computer “Book them” while we were still on the video chat. I was also concerned about how family pictures would go with having parents who are divorced. Hunter and Sarah were very empathetic, shared some personal information, and made me feel very comfortable with how they handle photographing these sensitive situations. They send out very detailed information on what to expect for the engagement shoot and items to bring to make the pictures more unique and interactive. They were welcoming and kind, even upon our late arrival. We instantly felt comfortable when we met in person which made taking our pictures much easier. Also, since they are a couple, they showed us how they would like us to move, pose, and touch. This was very helpful to see as a visual when trying to replicate their movements. They day of our wedding they were there on time and ready to start detail shots right away. As outlined in the precise timeline you collaboratively create with them, they branched off to complete their individual duties so that nothing was forgotten. Again, they showed us how personable, calm, and kind they are. They made us laugh, were our cheerleaders, and felt like friends. They know exactly what to do and say to keep you on time for everything the day of your wedding. I had accidentally gotten lipstick on my dress shortly before walking down the aisle, and Sarah immediately jumped into action asking other vendors for items to help. Hunter and Sarah are an amazing team and we hope to use them again in the future. You will not regret having them for your wedding day.

I don’t even know where to start with Hunter & Sarah for wedding photography… they are absolutely INCREDIBLE. The amount of expertise and experience they brought to our wedding day and wedding planning process was a game changer. It helped things run smoothly and calmed our nerves. Getting to work with a married couple on your wedding is like being with two friends the whole time. Not only were we more than impressed with their work, we had multiple guests commenting how they were the best wedding photographers they had seen. There truly aren’t the right words to describe how grateful we are to have found Hunter and Sarah for our wedding photography & we cannot recommend them enough!!!

Hunter and Sarah were absolutely phenomenal as our wedding photographers. They were a stretch for our budget, but I knew that photos would be the most important thing (since they last forever), so we splurged. Best decision ever! From the first meeting Hunter and Sarah were so organized and on top of everything that we knew that we didn't have to worry about our photos turning out great. And wow did they deliver! Our engagement photos were *stunning* and our wedding photos are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to get them blown up and put all over our walls! I was actually in a wedding a month after us and I can tell you the experience between their "budget photographer" verses Hunter and Sarah was night and day. First off - I thought it was just marketing speak when Hunter and Sarah mentioned the benefit of "two lead photographers" but it was so true! Hunter and Sarah were both taking amazing photos all day long, whereas the "second photographer" at the wedding I was in only took photos when the lead photographer couldn't physically be in two places at once, so basically just the ceremony. We got more than double the amount of photos with Hunter and Sarah, and we weren't pressed for time! We didn't need to run through a long "shot list" because their amazing photography timeline covered everything with plenty of time, so nothing felt rushed or forgotten. Lastly, Hunter and Sarah were simply a joy to work with. They're super cute together and both very friendly and professional. My husband's biggest budget priority was reducing stress on the wedding day, and Hunter and Sarah really delivered! My priority was beautiful pictures that I can show my grandkids and they more than delivered there too. From now on, anyone in the Charlottesville area who is even thinking about getting married will be hearing about Hunter and Sarah from me.

I knew the stars had aligned as soon as I got an email from Hunter saying that we had won a free engagement session from their contest I entered on a whim! We never win anything so this was so exciting for us!! We were nervously excited as we packed up our outfits and made the drive from Virginia Beach to Charlottesville to meet Hunter and Sarah and decide if they were the photographers for us. We instantly clicked and got extremely lucky at our session to find the field of blooming wildflowers to take photos with! Later on when we got our photos back, we were thrilled at how good they turned out. We got on a zoom call and immediately booked them for our July wedding! From start to finish, Hunter and Sarah were open with communication, easy to get in touch with, and very helpful with the million questions we had. We worked together to set a timeline and Hunter and Sarah helped execute it flawlessly on our big day. Having two extremely talented photographers on our day allowed for so many photos to be captured from all different perspectives. Somehow the two of them were able to catch every special moment, even a surprise shoey from my husband in the middle of the reception! We could not have asked for a better pair and we cannot wait to enjoy our photos for many many years to come.

Due to Covid, not only did Hunter and Sarah shoot one wedding day for my husband and me but they shot two. During the height of the pandemic, we had to cancel our original wedding plans. Hunter and Sarah were flexible and helped us push our date to the following year. We still wanted to get married on our original wedding date, so we eloped. We brought Hunter and Sarah along to capture it all. Unfortunately, after a few pictures, it began to hurricane and completely downpour. Hunter with the help of my brother and videographer ran through the rain to move my beautifully made flower arch under the safety of the porch. He got soaked. Sarah kept me calm and assured me that the pictures would still be beautiful. They were stunning. Hunter and Sarah broke out their camera rain gear and stood in the rain to finish taking pictures. Hunter and Sarah will go above and beyond to make your wedding day everything it can be. After that crazy day, wedding part two was a breeze. It felt like I was spending time with some friends I hadn’t seen in a year. I finally got my long-awaited dream wedding day. Hunter and Sarah captured absolutely everything I wanted to. They have such kind and joyous spirits. You spend so much time with your photographers on your wedding day. Please make sure you pick the right ones. I assure you, if you go with Hunter and Sarah you will not regret a single penny you paid.

We are SO glad we went with Hunter and Sarah! We knew it was really important for us to have an excellent wedding photographer, so it was an easy decision. Hunter and Sarah are very friendly and easy to get along with and they answered all of our questions so we knew exactly what to expect. They were very professional and really helped us capture our wedding and engagement session the way we wanted. We had fun with them along the way too, which made it easy for us to relax and enjoy the process. Our wedding pictures are stunning and we’ve received so many compliments. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Hunter and Sarah were flexible, professional, and supportive throughout our time working together while having to reschedule our wedding twice during the pandemic. We greatly appreciated their patience in guiding us through different poses and ensuring all of our photo needs were met even when our dog was a bit hyper during our engagement pictures.
