Hunter and Sarah Photography provided a top-notch experience for my surprise proposal. Everything from planning to execution was absolutely perfect. They were also very prompt with...
getting the gallery of photos sent over within 24 hours. Highly recommend!
Hunter and Sarah captured moments throughout our big day (plus engagement photos and night before) that we will cherish forever. It was super easy to feel comfortable with them and...
even though I struggle to get comfortable when I am on display I was at ease working with them! At our rehearsal dinner and welcome reception, Hunter was able to capture so many candid emotional moments with our friends and family kicking off our weekend with us. Seeing them the night before helped get us comfortable on camera right away and really set up our weekend. They went above and beyond throughout our wedding day and Sarah who was very pregnant during our wedding even got on the ground to help bustle my dress. During the planning process they were incredibly engaged and gave us 3 different pregnancy-plans just incase Sarah had their baby earlier than expected. This helped us all feel prepared and ready for any circumstance, but thankfully they were both able to capture our day! They also asked specific questions to make sure if there were any sensitive family situations they were aware and could navigate them appropriately which we really appreciated. On the day they were incredibly courteous with our time and we never felt pulled away from our party for too long to take our portraits. We had a rainy wedding day and Hunter and Sarah did not shy away from any photos we were willing to do, they let us set how comfortable we were getting wet and followed our lead! After receiving the wedding photos of our dreams they helped make sure it turned into the photo album of our dreams too by ordering new swatches for the album cover when they noticed there was a color discrepancy in photos and in the actual album cover color and scheduled an extra video call with us to review the swatches in real time to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. We so appreciated their attention to detail in the photos and our album! During your wedding day, you spent a lot of time with your family and friends but also with your photography team, they were our own personal hype squad and you could feel how much joy they had to us on our wedding day. We are so grateful they shared our day with us could not recommend them enough!
Hunter and Sarah were fantastic. From the first meeting with them to our engagement session to our wedding day, they were so organized, clear in their communication, efficient, and...
attentive to what we thought was important for our day and our photos.
Our engagement session helped us get really comfortable with both Hunter and Sarah - they made it so fun despite us being awkward in front of the camera at first.
On our wedding day, Hunter and Sarah maintained crowd control during cocktail hour when everyone wanted photos and dealt with the chaos of photographing us with our three dogs before the ceremony - I don’t know how they got such beautiful photos of us with our dogs.
Every photo, from the detail shots to the portraits to the candids throughout the events of our day, is great. Hunter and Sarah are fantastic photographers; would recommend them to anyone for capturing their special day.

ss stressful. I really appreciated their expertise and guidance to make sure everything was perfect, and the pictures came out so so good. Having the pictures ready to send out to friends and family was perfect, and made everyone very happy!
I HIGHLY recommend using Hunter and Sarah for a surprise proposal, and I can guarantee you will be thrilled with the results.

ack. Not only we were so happy with the results, but Hunter and Sarah are genuinely awesome people and made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. They are organized, communicative, and incredible easy to work with. We were able to do an engagement shoot with them prior to our wedding weekend, which helped us get to know them and their style and made the wedding day that much less stressful. They also took the time to get to know our friends and family and made them feel comfortable and excited as well. There can be so much stress around wedding planning and especially on the wedding day, and I knew I didn't have to worry at all about the photography piece once we had Hunter and Sarah on board. Would recommend them again and again!
I truly cannot say enough incredible things about Hunter & Sarah. From the very beginning, they made my husband and I feel so comfortable and at ease. Neither of us are naturally “...
camera people,” but they created such a calm and fun environment that being photographed felt natural. Also the photos are absolutely stunning. Every image is so thoughtful, emotional, and beautifully composed. They captured not only the big moments, but the small in-between details that made the day feel so personal and meaningful. Looking through our gallery felt like reliving the entire day. What impressed us most was how intentional and organized they were throughout the entire process. Before the wedding, they scheduled detailed meetings and provided thoughtful questionnaires to truly understand our vision. They took the time to learn about our families, relationships, and the moments that mattered most to us. Because of that, they captured so many special interactions that we will treasure forever. We felt so supported and understood every step of the way and are beyond grateful and would recommend them a thousand times over!!

o call it was obvious how much care and attention they put into making the whole process feel easy and positive.
We really loved having the two different perspectives from a husband-and-wife team. They balance each other so well, and effortlessly managed to get beautiful shots without ever making us feel awkward or overly posed.
We were also so impressed by how quickly and efficiently they moved through family photos and our portraits. They kept things moving in a way that didn’t feel rushed, but also didn’t keep us away from actually enjoying the day.
They captured the day so beautifully, and these are photos we’re genuinely going to treasure for years. Their online portal also made everything super easy and organized — one of those little things you don’t realize you’ll appreciate until you’re in the thick of wedding planning.
On top of all that, they’re just really lovely people to have around on your wedding day — calm, friendly, and fun without ever being intrusive.
Highly recommend! Could not be happier with our decision to work with Hunter & Sarah to capture our special day.

ish, they went above and beyond to make the entire experience seamless, meaningful, and beautifully captured. Hunter was incredible to work with in the lead-up to the big day. He was warm, responsive, and extremely helpful as we planned the logistics for a proposal on the Grounds near the Rotunda. He offered thoughtful guidance on timing, positioning, and locations, and even helped me figure out where family members could hide nearby without giving anything away. Throughout all of our communication, he was patient, organized, and genuinely invested in helping me create the perfect moment. On the day of the proposal, Sarah was phenomenal. She blended flawlessly into the environment to keep the surprise intact - my fiancée had absolutely no idea she was there. Sarah captured the proposal beautifully and then guided us through a relaxed, fun 30 minute photo session around the area. She seamlessly captured both posed and candid moments, and the photos reflect that. What blew us away even more was the same-day turnaround. Within about six hours, we had fully edited photos in our inbox. My fiancée was over the moon and immediately shared them with family and friends. Hunter and Sarah are not only talented photographers, but genuinely kind people who care deeply about their clients. If you are planning an engagement, wedding, or any special moment, I can’t recommend them highly enough. We’ll definitely be considering them again for our wedding!!

urprise proposal as easy and stress free as possible. From location, to time of day, to the very spots we would be standing, they helped nail down every detail weeks in advance. And most importantly they delivered us all of the photos just hours afterwards. The photos looked better than we could have ever imagined, and we will cherish them for years to come.
Hunter and Sarah are friendly, professional and excellent photographers!

led machine and make every last minute count in session to capture as many beautiful moments as possible! They truly care about their couples and understand how intimidating an engagement or wedding shoot can be, and take the time to build a relationship with clients before the big day so everything feels comfortable, seamless, and fun. Their transparency, efficiency, and unique artistic vision was worth absolutely every cent. We are so grateful to have such beautiful moments from our wedding to hold onto forever thanks to Hunter and Sarah’s artistry!

professional. We laughed our way through most of our interactions, and that joy is apparent in our engagement photos. On our wedding day, they captured exactly what we wanted. We ended up with some beautiful portraits plus fun and genuine candids. Thank you, Hunter and Sarah, for your gorgeous work and for being all around gems!
Hunter and Sarah are *incredible.* My now-fiancé hired them to photograph our surprise proposal, and I truly can’t imagine a better pair to have captured such a huge moment in our ...
lives.
From the second they introduced themselves, they made us feel totally at ease — which is no small feat given how nervous and overwhelmed (in the best way) we both were. Nothing felt awkward or overly posed. They somehow managed to make it feel like we were just hanging out, while also creating absolute magic behind the camera.
The photos are *gorgeous.* Light-filled, emotional, natural — they somehow captured all the little in-between moments that made it feel so real and so *us.* I’ll treasure them forever.
Could not recommend them more. Talented, kind, professional, and genuinely lovely people. Five stars, ten times over.

he did such an amazing job. Neither my my fiancé or myself are the best at posing for photos but Hunter did such a great job guiding us and made things feel so effortless. The best part was, we got our photos a couple ours later, when we were having dinner and they turned out absolutely beautiful!
Hunter and Sarah were an integral part of our wedding planning and day -- we can't thank them enough! Throughout the (chaotic!) wedding planning process, I never had to worry about...
Hunter and Sarah -- they were always two steps ahead of me and thought of everything!
On our wedding day, the time we spent with Hunter and Sarah was the most relaxing part of our day. They made the it fun and easy, and never kept us from mingling with guests or enjoying the party. From helping wrangle kids for family photos to bringing extra pins for my hair, I felt so supported throughout the day.
Most importantly, our photos turned out beautifully -- timeless, relaxed, and authentic. Hunter and Sarah captured so many little moments, looks, and emotions that even I missed on my wedding day -- this made our wedding album feel so personal. From the initial consultation to receiving our wedding photos, Hunter and Sarah made the entire photography process seamless.

ow our photos turned out. They were incredibly kind and gracious, and as a generally private person they were able to make me feel comfortable and at ease!
They were fantastic at composing beautiful photos, showing my fiancé and I how to best pose (which doesn’t always come naturally) and picking the best spots to capture our pictures. We never felt rushed and all of our requests were met with enthusiasm and understanding. They were also extremely quick at getting the photos back to us and so we were able to preview some pictures that same day with our family and friends which was wonderful. And perhaps most importantly, the pictures came out beautifully!
We are grateful to have had them capture such an important moment in our lives. Hunter and Sarah are extremely talented, kind and professional and we highly recommend them for any important milestones you would like to capture through their beautiful photography. Thank you again Hunter and Sarah!

and full of our authentic character. Following the proposal, they led us through a 30-minute session with over 150 photos. Each pose felt natural and highlighted our love for each other. Thank you for the efficiency, focus on capturing our story, and wonderful editing!

e'd found the right fit and then the experience was even better than I'd hoped!
The photos are absolutely beautiful but even more importantly, they captured so many sweet candid moments and the images really tell the story and evoke all of the memories and feelings from that weekend. Every time we look through our albums or the massive online gallery, I feel like I get to relive it all again and find a new favorite image.
Beyond just the final results, the experience of working with Hunter and Sarah from start to finish was so smooth, professional and fun. They clearly know what they're doing and have thought through all of the logistics / FAQs so everything happened flawlessly. And they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and it felt so natural having them with us all weekend. It felt like having another set of friends with us which is really SO important for such an intimate, emotional day!

omfortable throughout the whole process. Having an engagement shoot with Hunter and Sarah was a huge bonus too. It gave us time to get to know each other and made being in front of the camera on our wedding day even more fun. They showed us how to pose for certain shots but also let us be our candid selves. And the photos they delivered from our wedding day turned out so well! We love the mix of artsy, black & white, and just fun pictures they were able to capture. We seriously cannot recommend them highly enough!

first time for our engagement photos. They are both so easy to talk to and incredibly calming to be around, which was important for us as we are both a bit nervous in front of a camera. Both have great eyes for lighting and details, which yielded some absolutely incredible pictures for both our engagement and wedding pictures. I also loved how great they were at capturing some candid moments particularly during our wedding — they are always keeping an eye out for a good moment to capture. We appreciate how good they were at managing other parties involved in pictures too (family, bridal party, groomsmen). They’re true professionals.
They did a great job working with our slightly nervous dog, and we now have some amazing family photos with the three of us to look back on forever. I also SO appreciated that Sarah was able to bustle my wedding dress — she did it so quickly and I couldn’t have imagined trying to figure that out with my bridesmaids. My parents commented on how much they liked Hunter and Sarah and how great a job they did — the two of them are excellent photographers and overall amazing people with the best hearts.
Finally, the heirloom wedding album they put together for us is so fantastic!! While we only ordered the physical copy yesterday, we can’t wait to receive it.
We’d hire Hunter and Sarah over and over again! We really can’t recommend them enough.

le as soon as we had our initial video chat. They were flexible in scheduling and shooting our engagement session, and taught us everything we needed to know before wedding day. We hired Hunter and Sarah to capture our surprise engagement at Barboursville Vineyards near Charlottesville, VA – they were simply amazing! Hunter and Sarah truly delivered on a n...
umber of fronts … For starters, they are excellent communicators. They helped me (the husband-to-be) plan engagement day logistics by offering detailed descriptions of the venue ahead of time (plus a satellite map with stage directions!). They offered priceless advice on things like, what time of day to propose in order to catch the best light, and how to handle the arrival times of visiting family so that they are where they need to be without spoiling the surprise. They coordinated with the managers of the venue to ensure we have the access that we need. They also gave effective stage directions to everyone in real-time, which was incredibly helpful. Everything was executed with tact, professionalism, and warmth/kindness. Oh and, did I mention… the photos came out fantastic! We would definitely recommend Hunter and Sarah, whatever your special occasion may be.
I cannot say enough good things about Hunter and Sarah! They photographed our proposal, engagement photos, rehearsal dinner and wedding and could not have done a more wonderful job...
with each event. They captured each event with gorgeous photographs that we will cherish forever. Not only are they phenomenal at what they do, extremely professional, and always flexible and understanding, they are a joy to work with and have around! They helped our wedding day run smoothly, while beautifully capturing the day from start to finish without detracting from the day in the slightest. I would chose them again in a heartbeat!

ey were the right people to hire! Both on a professional and personal level, they took the time to really get to know us and it translates to the photographs that we will treasure for years to come. They were extremely flexible with making our limited availability work for our initial engagement photos. We only had one weekend to work with, and they immediately added us to their calendar without hesitation. Even with it raining on the scheduled day, they made the next day work without hesitation. They did not feel like just our wedding photographers - they felt like true friends who wanted our wedding day to be the most special day possible! We are MORE than pleased with how amazing our photographs turned out. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and helped keep us at ease during our wedding day with an organized timeline. They captured all the special moments that we will cherish forever. We truly cannot recommend them enough! We are so grateful to have worked with Hunter and Sarah, and we look forward to staying in touch and hopefully getting the opportunity to work with them again in the future!

d to make sure we got all the images we wanted, with any number of family combinations! For a small additional fee they are also willing to travel hours to do your engagement shoot at your chosen spot, (which my daughter and son did, at their favorite spot in DC), since the engagement shoot - a part of all their packages - is really an integral part of their whole process of getting to know you, getting you comfortable, and making sure they capture beautiful images when your special day arrives. Cannot wait to get my album, which I will cherish as a treasured memento of a wonderful life-changing day. Thank you Hunter and Sarah - and your team :)

day, they made sure to honor our vision and wishes — helping to create the timeline and organize the day as smoothly as possible. They worked to make sure we were comfortable in front of the lens, and communicated effectively throughout the entire process. They were even on board for a surprise shoot for the Mother of the Bride without any hesitation. Their kindness and calm natures make the process easy, and they are truly a joy to be around!
Our gallery was returned to us early, for both the engagement shoot and the wedding day. We are still stunned by the pictures, including some classic film shots and others that show the movement and liveliness at the event. We will never get tired of reliving our special day through their lens. No words can ever thank them enough for their role in our wedding day. Trust us, hiring this team is forever worth it.

d then for our wedding. I cannot recommend them highly enough--they are extremely organized, professional, kind, and just a joy to be around. Our guests universally praised the photos, but beyond that, they also knew how to make people comfortable and meshed well with our wedding party (important since they are effectively embedded for a day!). Plus, with both Sarah and Hunter they are able to present with both parties at once-- guarantee you that there is not a better duo out there! Book them! You will not regret it. We ended up relying on them so much, and they went above and beyond in every way. They were excellent advocates and worked to rearrange the schedule so that we had time to do what we needed to do. They were patient and understanding, and, frankly, just the best.

accidentally found out that my boyfriend (at the time) scheduled photos for us. They set up a fall couples shoot and after a few shots they set me up to turn around and be completely surprised with a proposal! They then gave my fiance and I a moment to reflect, and then we jumped into some more pictures. Hunter and Sarah were able to model poses for us and they were so easy to work with. We highly recommend this wonderful photography team for your engagement and wedding photos!!!
Absolutely fabulous job with our photography. They were professional, extremely timely, and kind. They made an effort to get to know bridal party/groomsmen and family members. The ...
pictures always arrived quickly after engagement photos and the wedding.
They know what they're doing!
I was also pleasantly surprised by the really neat black and white trendy/blurred images scattered through our gallery. They are obviously keeping up with photography trends. They will also make sure that you get all of the shots that you want. We were working on a tight timeline with no first look and our wedding buses arriving an hour late (UGH!) and I am still satisfied with the number of photos that we got.
They were probably our favorite vendor, I highly recommend hiring this pair.

ife team and knew right away they were our photographers. They were extremely kind, professional, accommodating, and flexible to our needs (even when we had to change the date/location of our wedding with just a few months' notice)! They were so patient with us and guided us through the entire process seamlessly. Both Hunter & Sarah truly made my husband and I feel so comfortable being in front of the camera. Our engagement & wedding photos are everything we had hoped they would be able to capture and SO much more! Their experience and attention to detail can be seen throughout every image- they even turned around both our engagement & wedding photos sooner than we had anticipated! We seriously cannot say enough good things about them and HIGHLY recommend booking Hunter & Sarah for your engagement session & wedding!
Hunter & Sarah are the greatest photography duo, beyond what we could have even possibly hoped for.
Between an amazing engagement shoot in a snow storm, and a beautiful wedding at...
Castle Hill Cider, they made it such a fun and comfortable experience. And the finished product is as good as it gets. Every time I show our photos to someone, they generally gasp and say something like, “wow, this looks like it’s from a magazine.”
They’re that good! Hire them!
Having worked with with Hunter and Sarah in a professional manner before, we knew from the beginning that we wanted them to do our photography! From the very first zoom meeting to ...
the big day, they felt like more like friends than anything else! They accepted our quirkiness and worked around crazy families and wild moments with zero judgements.
During our engagement shoot, we were blown away with the positions they put themselves in to get the perfect shot. Talk about commitment! And the proof is definitely in the stunning pictures.
Leading up to the big day, they helped guide us through timeline and shot lists, making everything that much easier. If there is anything a couple can appreciate, is someone taking some of the stress of their shoulders. Their reminders and lists were beyond helpful and kept me prepared.
On the big day they not only showed up early and ready to roll, they came with an arsenal of back ups and emergency items I could have easily forgotten, I mean down to even having bottles of water for us when taking pictures in the hot sun!
Hunter and Sarah took me out of my self conscience mind and brought out a confidence in me that I didn't even know I had! They were even able to get my Husband to loosen up for the pictures! Such amazing detail was put into each shot, with clear direction and such precise positioning to make sure we looked our absolute best.
The way Hunter and Sarah play off each other and can anticipate each others next move is beyond mesmerizing to watch. I truly believe that is what leads to their magazine worthy photos.
I will cherish the moments I had with Sarah when we were waiting to be called up, it probably seemed like nothing big to her but she was a support I didn't even know I needed. They are way more than just wedding photographers.
The biggest take away I can give is, you will be spending a HUGE chunk of your day with your photographers, you want to be surrounded by uplifting, professional yet FUN people who you can just jive with and let me tell you, Hunter and Sarah are those people!
Don't miss your chance to book with them!

y style immediately caught our eye. We could not find another photographer who seemed to capture couples’ wedding days so well. In our first zoom session with Hunter and Sarah, we learned about them and their process and we really felt like we clicked with them. They are extremely responsive, professional, friendly, and organized, and created several variations of wedding day timelines for us soon after we booked them. They are the perfect wedding photographers and made us feel so comfortable in front of their cameras. Our engagement session and wedding day photos felt so effortless and the images are so far beyond our expectations. We always knew that our photographer would be the most important vendor we would hire and we are so happy that we chose Hunter and Sarah! Bottom line: stop your search and book Hunter and Sarah asap!

easy to work with. I don't like being photographed and immediately felt at ease posing and working with them. On the wedding day, they were with us for getting ready, the entire ceremony, and the entire reception. I really can't say enough amazing things about these two!

. My husband and I have developed friends that have impacted our lives in ways unimaginable. Near and far, those loved ones traveled to celebrate our love for each other. It was a gift that will be within our hearts for a lifetime. Two of those beautiful people were our photographers, Hunter and Sarah Sheldon. Anyone can be a vender these days, but you will walk away with friends for a lifetime going with these two. Though my husband knew the Sheldons far before I did, I feel like we have never missed a beat. Just looking at the photos I see my true self and the love between us, as well as our guests, jumping off the screen and the prints. Those friends that were able to make it are imprinted in a forever memory and calling them our family is that much more easy.
Our photos are breathtaking: light, airy, romantic, and true, with a whole lot of goof and party. From start to finish the day is followed beautifully, and picking the photos to put to print was so painstakingly hard, we are STILL going back and forth between moments to include because they are all THAT good. Needless to say… our coffee table book is going to be BIG. But hey, we should have known that going into hiring this fantastic duo.
Upon first consultation, a key value of hiring them came to light: they themselves are husband and wife. What does that mean? They KNOW what goes into a union, they KNOW what mini moments to capture, and they KNOW what the other needs to either get the shot desired or delivering the support in finding the moments to praise. We may be referred to Mr. and Mrs. Kirby now, but our own spirits and uniqueness are captured in these photos. We are forever grateful to have these moments to look back on and relive the love and happiness of the most perfect day. Hunter and Sarah, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are forever grateful. You both are truly a force, and your recognition is forever deserved.
Hunter and Sarah are the absolute best!! We cannot recommend them enough for all of your photography needs!
We used them for both our engagement session and our wedding and could ...
not be more in love with the photos. They captured everything from the classic photos, to the candids, to the details. It was also so fun and helpful that they could demo poses since they are a husband and wife photography team—definitely an aspect that sets them apart!
And not only are they great photographers, but they are great people! They made our time with them go by so fast and took away all of our camera shy concerns! Lots of laughs were shared between all!

craft and desire to produce both exceptional photography and lifelong memories for their clients is matched with a very personal and curated touch. From Day 1, they made it a priority to connect with us and understand our preferences as a couple and the nature of our relationship on a deeper level. Trust and comfort was easily established, leading to a very enjoyable first photo session.
Hunter and Sarah are incredibly thorough and detail-oriented. They clearly guided us through day-of requirements, working closely with our wedding coordinator on scheduling and logistics. Their process is designed to ensure an efficient but comprehensive shooting flow, capturing all the key and special moments without becoming overwhelming. We appreciated their time-conscious approach with us as a couple and with the broader wedding party. As the evening continued on, Hunter and Sarah seemed to melt into the background, letting the party’s momentum take center stage all while keeping the cameras going.
The proof was in the pudding when we received our final wedding gallery, and my wife and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. Hunter and Sarah were the perfect partners to memorialize one of the most important days for our family and friends. If you choose to work with them as well, you won’t be disappointed!!

They were a delight to work with and are truly talented professionals and photographers. They were the perfect one-two punch at capturing all of our preferred and flattering angles.
