The Great Hall is ideal for large seated dinners. Clerestory windows rim the ceiling of this spacious room in the upper level of the Museum. Shades may be lowered for slide and/or video presentations during the event. This grand room includes a PA sound system. rted and was told no. The new event coordinator was very nice. However, I had an 11:00 brunch-style, reception-style wedding. My contract said 11:00 - 6:00. They didn’t want to honor the contract because they said the previous event coordinator who had written the contract didn’t like to follow rules. The assistant started standing around staring at us, and then attempted to box up what was left of my cakes at around 4:00 PM. My wedding coordinator had to stop her.
Aside from that, there was construction going on right outside of Spencer Hall where my wedding was. Literally, there were trucks right outside the door smoothing out dirt at the beginning of my wedding. You can imagine what it sounded like. Thank God for the musician and DJ.

I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Kris Clarke worked her magic and Petals by Ali was our incredible florist. I highly recommend this venue for your event.

makes the space feel open and bright. The staff was very easy to work with, although somewhat difficult to get in touch with at times. They were very willing to help us with whatever we needed and had someone there throughout the entire reception to assist. We had about 250 guests and it never felt crowded. The stage in the room is perfect for a DJ or live band, and keeps them from taking up needed space on the floor. We had plenty of room for a dance floor as well. We had originally wanted to have our reception at a different location but couldn't because of scheduling issues. The Museum of Art was the only location available for our wedding date, and this turned out to be a blessing. I don't think we could have chosen a more perfect location. Spencer Hall is definitely a great location for a wedding reception, or any other reception for that matter. If we had it all to do over again we would definitely choose it again!

the wedding was held was way too small and most guests had to stand. Several guests actually had to stand outside the room and didn't get to see the wedding. Everything else was great but unless there is a better back-up plan I wouldn't have my wedding here.
