way things went--it was truly a phenomenal experience for us and our 110 guests. First, the setting offered a fantastic mix of convenience and natural, if landscaped, beauty. From the regal stone archway of a European church to hawks soaring over babbling brooks, HCC blends artful human-scale elegance with the sublime, raw beauty of nature, resulting in a storybook setting that felt lifted from the pages of a medieval fairytale. We highly recommend to any nature-loving couple who want the feel of a wedding close-to-nature, while still offering your guests easy access to civilization and amenities in Louisville. Secondly, the service we received from HCC was extraordinary. Meredeth and her team responded to all our inquiries with lightning speed and utter professionalism, the food was delicious and plentiful, the drinks were tasty, and the event went so smoothly. A number of married couples we talked to before our wedding said they didn't have fun at their weddings, were stressed out planning, didn't get to eat anything etc. We feel so differently: my wife and I had a blast and were surprised at how easy everything was to plan. We certainly owe that in large part to Meredeth and the HCC staff. From booking my groomsmen and I a tennis court on the day of (to exercise out our pre-wedding nervousness), to storing leftover cake until the day after for homebound relatives who couldn't make it, we felt 110% taken care of in the run up to the big day and on the day of. Lastly, in terms of affordability, HCC was an amazing deal. While personal views of what is "affordable" differ, from hearing what other couples have spent on their weddings & having attended those weddings, we think HCC hits a perfect sweet spot. Granted, your final bill is going to depend a lot on your guest count, whether your parents are helping etc., but you could have a truly lovely wedding and reception at HCC for $5-10K (not including other vendor spending). We highly recommend HCC for dual-income, professional couples who, on principal, don't want to get dragged into the wacky world of lavish wedding spending.

ddings (ours was 200 guests and we fit quite comfortably), and all areas of the grounds are great for taking photos. This is a great venue if you want your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to all be in one place! It's a classic venue that is great if you're going for a more traditional look. The event coordinator is professional and responds in a timely manner. There was a problem with our planning as they double-booked our date and we had to move it- but they upgraded our food and liquor handsomely and made sure to accommodate our every need from that point on. The weekend of the wedding the staff were professional and courteous, attentive and kind. The food was all delicious and a hit with all of the guests. The wedding itself went off beautifully and we had a wonderful experience. I would recommend the HCC, but, as with all vendors, encourage you to keep on top of them regarding the exact details and expectations surrounding your big day!
