Hyatt House White Plains
I would give the Hyatt House 0 stars if I could for my wedding block. We were told the bar would remain open after our wedding as long as people were buying drinks. I confirmed this prior to my wedding with the front desk and had an email as proof. After the wedding we got back and went to the bar... which was doing last call. The staff refused to validate what I had been told upon booking and was extremely rude. They were rude to our guests as well. Staff that night told one of our guests to "shut up and go to bed." This hotel completely ruined our wedding night.
Prior to this, the wedding block coordinator left and all of our blocked rooms were released without our knowledge. This took over 2 days to rectify and the hotel did not notify us. We only found out from one of our guests.
I completed the hotel survey directly after the wedding and to no surprise - the hotel did not reach out to me.
DO NOT BOOK HYATT HOUSE FOR YOUR WEDDING BLOCK.
THE WORST. There were NON stop problems with our hotel block. I had emailed back and forth with them asking to understand the ability to book extra rooms in the months leading up to our wedding, they told me if they got close to capacity they would let me know....they didn't. I then had to secure a second hotel block at another location. Then wedding weekend came and it was awful. We got there, we were sent to a room that was not what we had booked and was for my husband's uncle. We then go back to the front desk, recheck in to the correct room. Should've been fine from there. After our rehearsal dinner, our best man goes to check in and is told the hotel was overbooked - this was the first of almost 10 guests that was told this over the course of the weekend. The real kicker being that even though they are located in a parking lot with a ton of other hotels, they tried to rebook our cousins at a hotel off 84 that they would've had to drive to and couldn't leverage our buses for - luckily that person made enough of a stink and was able to get a closer room and a free bar tab. Even though we were given a reason about why the hotel was overbooked, I still find this unacceptable - largely because there were high school students that had rooms over our wedding guests. Then, after our wedding, we got hit with $800 worth of room charges because we were charged for the uncle's room we were accidentally checked into and ours. I've told the sales manager there that I would tell every single couple I know in the area to steer clear so, that's my advice! Find ANY other option.
Hyatt House Fishkill was an incredible place to hold our room block for our wedding. Madeline in sales was a rock star at answering all of our questions and concerns, and she provided honest advise when we were figuring out the bar extension and brunch packages. The rooms were so spacious and clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Thank you!
