I want to start by saying that the final wedding video we received was absolutely stunning, and Jacob is a very talented videographer. His pricing is very competitive; for under $4...
000 we received 10 hours of coverage, a second shooter, and drone footage with a 5 minute highlight video and our full ceremony. We’re so grateful for the beautiful videos that he produced and how well they summarized our day.
That being said, the overall experience working with him was mixed. Communication was often difficult, and there seemed to be a lack of coordination with our other vendors, which occasionally created tension and confusion. We didn’t always feel heard or aligned on creative vision day-of though we had discussed some aspects in advance. For example, the first interaction we had on the wedding day was Jacob grabbing my dress, narrowly missing the food table, and hanging it in a tree for a shot I had not wanted. There were also a few missed opportunities for footage during our post-ceremony photo session (which had been outlined in our timeline) where neither Jacob or the second shooter were present, and instead we were pulled away from our reception for a sunset shoot (optional in the timeline) that we hadn’t planned to prioritize. While he did capture the specific shot I requested, it had already been covered earlier by our photographer, and better coordination could have prevented duplication and allowed us to enjoy valuable reception time.
There were also delays in delivery. Our contract outlined a 6-8 week turnaround time, and after 10 weeks had passed without hearing anything, I reached out and learned he had just started our video that day. After a few more follow ups, Jacob kindly offered to include extra videos of our dances and speeches at no additional cost, which we appreciated, but those also required several follow-ups. We received our first video 4 months after our wedding and the last video we received about 9 months after our wedding.
We’re so happy with the final videos and how beautifully they captured our big day, especially given the price. If you’re looking for someone who can produce a beautiful final product and don’t mind a rocky process with some proactive communication on your end, Hyde Media could still be a great fit.
We consider Jacob to be one of our best investments of our wedding. We got our wedding video back last week and it is unbelievable. With our wedding 3 weeks ago, he made it so we c...
an relive the joy like it was yesterday. It was so artistic and beautiful. He was incredibly easy to work with, communicated extremely well, was fair priced and at the end of the day his goal was to make us happy. As far as customer service goes, he was 10/10. It is clear that he is passionate about his art and that shows! We cannot recommend him enough!
