DJ Hype Entertainment did a phenomenal job. I would recommend him to everybody. His music package made it simple to check off popular songs we wanted for the entire event, while also being able to make specific requests. The music quality was top tier with his high end equipment! He was also great on the mic making wedding announcements and getting everyone on the dance floor during the reception. Overall, we loved having him and need another event to book him for!

We hired Hype Entertainment for our wedding and wow wow wow was it one of the best decisions we made. He was there early to set up and I actually ran into him on my way to some pictures prior to the ceremony and he stopped what he was doing to greet me and make me feel so special. EXCELLENT!! Marcus came highly recommended, so we hired him for our daughter's wedding. (and then again for a big milestone birthday bash) We loved him!!! and so did our guests at both events!! He was professional and detailed oriented and was quick to respond to our long list of questions and requests. He showed up early to both events and was ready to go when our guests arrived. We credit him with making both of our events huge successes. Marcus was excellent. Hire him if you can!

Planning a wedding from out of state was difficult - especially when we could not meet any of the vendors in advance. We found DJ Hype, saw how highly reviewed he was, found out how affordable he was, and scooped him up right away for our date. Trust me, you think you know a good DJ?? Five stars is an understatement. DJ Hype brings the party- he himself is the party. I had no idea who to ask as a DJ and my coordinator sent me his name with two others- I made the decision based on reviews like the one I am leaving now and I’m telling you- it will be the best decision you made the entire wedding planning process. He took special requests, played a voicemail from my dad before our dance, took a USB drive from my grandfather for a special surprise dance, and even played a song I converted myself. He will dance with you, sing with you, and make your guests feel like family. He was very communicative leading up to the big day and even allowed me to add an extra hour three days before my event when I realized I needed wireless mics for my ceremony. (He even has these!) Do it. Stop looking right now and book him!!

We had a blast with DJ Hype! Tailored our playlist while adding in some crowd favorites. Great at interacting with the crowd and getting people up to dance. Very professional from start to finish. He couldn't be any nicer and can't recommend him enough and his team enough.

I wanted to hire Marcus based on the vibe I got from the photos alone, but the glowing reviews he had solidified it for me. I knew I was going to have a great time, but even so, he still exceeded all my expectations. He was so energetic and upbeat, but calm and organized when I was all over the place and didn't know what we were doing. He made our wedding so much fun, and I can't thank him enough!

We hired Marcus for our wedding and it was the best decision. He was very professional and accommodating. We met with him twice before the wedding so he could get an understanding of what we wanted. And it was perfect. You definitely want Marcus at your wedding. He seriously brought the party! Our dance floor was full the entire night. He is so fun and interactive! He was even out on the dance floor with us to teach the line dances if you didn’t know them. And even had me (the bride) back behind the dj booth for a song, it was the highlight of my night! We also opted for Marcus’s uplighting and Photo Booth. I highly recommend getting this as well. Our guests loved the Photo Booth and Marcus even sent us a CD of every photo taken that night. Marcus was the PERFECT DJ for our wedding. He customized a mash up for my husband and mother in law to dance to and kept people on the dance floor all night!!! He did an amazing job of choosing songs for the younger and older crowds and has such an amazing presence and personality. The music for the ceremony, all dances, the introductions, ect was perfect and exactly what we asked for. He allowed for us to make all kinds of requests and fulfilled them all. Working with him was easy and all of our guests loved him. Could not recommend enough!!!!

Marcus was so much fun to have on our wedding day, he really added to the party especially when he got on the dance floor with us. He made sure to play the type of music I (the bride) requested and music he knew would keep guests on the dancefloor which was extremely important for us. Living in NJ we were nervous to pick a DJ out of state for our wedding in NC but Marcus by far exceeded our expectations. Any concern/question I had (I had a lot) Marcus always answered quickly and thoroughly. He is the perfect DJ if you want a true party at your wedding!!

A DJ can completely make or break a wedding reception. Luckily Marcus totally made our wedding reception! In addition to DJing, he sang, he danced, he Cupid Shuffled! Marcus totally understood the dynamics of our crowd and had people on the dancefloor for the entire night! He also has an add-on for a photobooth, which was super popular with our guests! The best thing about Marcus is how well he listed to exactly what we wanted in terms of music. I had an unconventional request to play Broadway love songs during dinner, and Marcus totally ran with it! So many guests commented about how much they liked Marcus and how he kept them dancing all night long!

DJ Hype was the BEST DJ we could've wished for, for our wedding. He was HYPE ALL NIGHT, he sang with us, danced with us, and even let me DJ for a few minutes! To get the party started, we had a sing-off between both sides of the room which was the perfect way to set the tone for the rest of the night. I wish I could give him a 1000849503/10. Best DJ ever.

I met DJ Hype back when I was a little girl and even then his infectious positive personality was a shining light whenever you are around him and his wife so choosing him for our wedding was a no brainer. He had all the music timed perfectly and played all of our top requested songs. The dance floor was packed ALL. NIGHT. LONG. There was never a dull moment. He even comes out onto the floor to interact with guests during the music which I think is so fun & personable. DJ Hype & his wife Melissa is the team you NEED for your wedding, party, event - anything that requires music & a good time!

DJ Hype was awesome! Based on our selections and recommendations of guests he pinpointed our music tastes perfectly and got the party started! People loved the Photo Booth and he even custom makes the designs for the photo strips off the invite design! Overall amazing experience and reasonable prices!

We had the absolute best time at our wedding and it was 100% thanks to our DJ. The entire processing from booking to planning was so easy. Marcus was fantastic and made sure we didn't have any questions our concerns. The only time people weren't on the dance floor at the reception was when dinner was served. So many guests told us the next day how amazing our DJ was. If we ever have need of a DJ again we will not hesitate in booking with Marcus.

We hired Marcus to DJ for my wife's 50th birthday party, He went above and beyond to make sure our party was successful. He showed up early and stayed late. I would 100% use him again. We had about 125 people at the party, and every one of them left with big smiles on their faces. They had a great time. Marcus was a big part of that.

I was on the fence about hiring a DJ until I went to a wedding that didn't have one. I went to a local wedding expo and met DJ Hype. Unfortunately, he wasn't available for my date, but he recommended me to a gentleman that was a DJ for his daughter's wedding. An elaborate form was used between us and he followed it throughout my wedding. He also remained in constant contact throughout the wedding planning process. He was a very active DJ and MC and joined the dance floor with us, entertained us with games, and did multiple announcements throughout the evening. He offered songs to use for special events and that helped tremendously. He made the long drive and was there plenty early to setup for all of the wedding festivities. He had all of the equipment and song list necessary for a wonderful wedding.

Marcus was recommended to us by a friend. When she told me that he was on the dance floor getting the party started at her wedding, I knew he was the right choice! He knows how to read the crowd and everyone loved his energy and entertainment. Wedding planning can be stressful, but Marcus was organized, professional, and responsive and I never had to worry about my DJ! He’s the best!

5 Years ago, when my daughter got married Marcus was her MC/DJ. He came highly recommended by a family member who stated, "Marcus makes the Party". After witnessing this for myself that night, I knew that DJ Hype would be our MC/DJ for any future events, and we considered him family. When it came to planning our wedding, without hesitation Marcus was the first person I contacted. He is easy to work with and actually helped us find our Venue. After shifting our date several times due to circumstances out of our control, Marcus stayed with us and not once made us feel like an inconvenience. In fact, we'd have changed our wedding date several more times just to ensure Marcus was available to be our MC/DJ at our wedding. I can't say enough about him, and I highly recommend him for any function you might be planning. He's much more than a DJ and a stranger to no one. DJ Hype is hands down one of the best DJs I have had the pleasure of experiencing. If you want someone who can get a great read of the crowd and actively engage with them, DJ Hype is the person to go with. He was professional and prompt. He made sure to get the crowd on the dance floor and would even join in with some of the dancing. He even let my wife get behind the turn tables for a song, which was one of her favorite parts of the night. It is the little things that made the most of our wedding and we appreciated the personal touches DJ Hype added to our wedding to help make it special. His high energy really set the tone for our wedding and we are beyond grateful to have had him be there. He is very easy to work with and maintained an open line of communication. He would always answer any questions we had and was always willing to go the extra mile. In addition, the photo booth that his provided was a great touch for guests. Marcus was wonderful to work with!! He was flexible in working with us during a spectacular break in Hurricane Ian for an outdoor reception with beach ceremony. There is no other DJ in town or out of town who does the job like DJ Hype Marcus! I have witnessed countless events with Marcus as well as other DJ's (some brought in from NY and DC) and there is literally no comparison. Marcus takes every single party (no matter what the party is) to another level. This wedding was planned long distance ( due to military move). Marcus was very helpful and prompt with any reply. All the guests and the wedding party had an incredible time. So much fun. We had some last minute changes and Marcus was accommodating. I’d hire him again in a minute!!

JUST BELIEVE THE HYPE! My wife and I hired DJ Hype (Marcus) for our wedding reception entertainment in the Outer Banks (NC) a few weeks ago. DJ Hype was amazing, professional, super accommodating, friendly and able to read the crowd, which is a very critical skill for any DJ. He effortlessly went song to song and knew when to follow the program and when to skip over things. To accompany his show, he had microphones and lights for the reception too. We only wish we had more than four (4) hours to enjoy his grooves! Rest assured that we'll be keeping his info handy for any future parties that we'll be having. Prior to the event, DJ Hype met with us and our wedding planner on Zoom to discuss what we envisioned from him and to give him an idea of what to expect at the wedding and the reception. We could feel his enthusiasm through the computer screen! He also had us fill out some paperwork outlining all major segments of the wedding and to review what songs we wanted and when and what his script should be in introducing people, etc. DJ Hype even made sure he followed the fancy dress code. One of the most memorable parts of the reception was when DJ Hype hit the dance floor with us on a couple of songs to help the crowd with those group dancing songs like 'The Cupid Shuffle.' He was full of energy and went above and beyond to ensure he provided the best entertainment experience for everyone there. It was quite the party, if i can say so myself! He even played some upbeat gospel music for my mother that was unexpected so our vocalist could sing for her one more time (my mom left us for heaven two weeks later) so the flexibility DJ Hype provided was priceless. Everybody was dancing on the floor OR dancing in their respective chairs! We loved DJ Hype!! I am a type A bride and he met all my needs and more. We used him for our ceremony and reception. Everything was what we wanted and we couldn't have been more happy with Marcus. We highly recommend him.

We hired Hype Entertainment through our wedding planner, Baxter Creative Events. I'm going to be honest, I was little scared at the time of signing the contract with our planner because I had no additional information on DJ Hype and Hype Entertainment. However after reading his 5 star reviews, I knew we were good hands. For our ceremony, he took a bit of a creative license on the wedding party processional music and it was perfect! I didn't want something traditional, but I couldn't figure out what I wanted. The song he decided on went perfectly with bride entrance song. After dinner, that's when the party really started, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music, and the photobooth was definitely used throughout the night. I am so glad Hype Entertainment was apart of my wedding planner's package, because without that we more than likely would have missed out on him. A fellow bride mentioned that he was her first choice for her wedding, but at the time he was not available for her day. So the lesson is, if you want DJ Hype at your next event contact him as soon as possible!

Dj hype was awesome! He was so attentive and responsive to the crowd and their requests/vibes. He was very professional as well as fun/sweet to our guests. He helped with the flow of the night And made sure everything ran smoothly! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dj in the NC area!

DJ Hype (Marcus) was AMAZING. So many people came up to us saying the wedding was the most fun party they had been to and Marcus was a huge part of that. He kept the energy going through the night, was so nice and easy going, but also helped with keeping the structure of everything. Taking requests was also an awesome touch! The transitions between songs were also seamless. He was organized and answered questions quickly leading up the the event. His wife and him were truly a dynamic duo for weddings and events and we cannot say enough good things about them!!

Marcus was amazing. If you are looking for an a DJ with attention to detail, peronality, energy and who truly makes an event fun, this is your guy. He responds quickly to emails, answers any questions/concerns and gave us ideas since this is what he does for a living. He made my daughters day extra perfect. He had everyone on the floor dancing, laughing and having an all around great time. I can't wait to have another event where I need to hire a DJ!

DJ Hype is an incredible DJ. He is personable and listens to his clients. He truly wants everyone to have a good time and works hard at getting everyone involved in the party. His music selections are on point and I would highly recommend him for any type of event!

DJ Hype lived up to his name and more. He was professional, courteous, and his goal was to make us happy and he exceeded. The energy he brought to the dance floor was exceptional. Everybody at our reception was on the dance floor. I don’t even dance, but his energy had me out there without my dancing groom! Him and his wife tag team with a photo booth too and she was such a delight to have!! They were the perfect combination. Any future DJ needs, I will without a doubt book DJ Hype!! I heard our guests saying how much fun he and his wife were! You won’t regret having DJ Hype entertain for your events as he is reasonably priced!

Recommended to us by a family friend, Marcus was such a fantastic person to work with! He was very nice and great to be around, he was accommodating for music requests, and really knew how to keep the party going! My husband and I were so excited to have him apart of our special day. Marcus is TRULY THE BEST! We have hired him for so many of our special events, and our friends and family have used him countless times as well, and he never disappoints! I had a friend from ATL who was at my most recent party with Marcus, and she is obviously exposed to big city DJs and the entire night told me how FANTASTIC Marcus is - we could not agree more!!! It’s simple, really. If you want to make sure that you and your guests have a great time at your wedding then you must book DJ Hype (Marcus). He’s excellent to work with and just all round a great person. There are lots of moving parts with a wedding but no matter what curveball we threw him he took it in stride and was accommodating. You can genuinely tell that Marcus, and his wife Melissa, love what they do and you will love working with them too!

My husband and I booked DJ Hype (Marcus), for our wedding in September 2021. From the first phone call with Marcus we could tell that he was experienced, high-energy, and genuinely invested in getting to know us as a couple. Marcus was incredibly professional, but also super relatable, which made it easy to work with him and also easy for our guests to feel free to enjoy his music. His song selection was perfect, and tailored exactly to us and our crew. A perfect example of this is when one of the Best Men at our wedding made a reference to Philadelphia (an area where a portion of our guests were from) that got some cheers from the audience, and Marcus must have noticed this because he put on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song during our the dance time and it got a GREAT reaction. This is just one example of how great Marcus is at tailoring his talents to fit each and every wedding he does. I have absolutely no regrets hiring Marcus. Also, he has an option to add an open air photo booth with his services. My husband and I wanted a photo booth but we were worried about the additional cost, so Marcus being able to provide one was perfect. Quite frankly, I think Marcus' prices are a STEAL for everything you get. He truly made our day extra special and I have nothing but positive things to say about him. I would highly highly highly recommend booking him if you can!

DJ hype was absolutely awesome! From the week of the wedding to the actual day he was in constant contact and new exactly what we needed to keep the party alive. The fact that it was probably the hottest day of the year and he managed to keep they dance floor alive the whole time is a testament that he knows how to read the crowd and give them what we and they wanted! if you want someone who can keep the party going till the night is done Marcus is your guy! Dj Hype was an absolute party starter! Marcus played every kind of genre of music, which allowed everyone to enjoy the night. He got out on the Dance floor with us which made it an absolute blast!! We would highly recommend him and his services to anyone getting married.

Marcus Mathews of Hype Entertainment is top notch. I am an event planner with my own company and have used Marcus for many corporate events, but this time, it was my daughter’s wedding and so I knew I needed the best DJ of all, and Marcus is the BEST. I introduced Marcus to my daughter and her fiancé and they knew from the moment they met, they wanted to hire him. He was so personable and fun that they knew he would be the perfect DJ for their Enchanted Forest Vibe wedding. The wedding was an outdoor venue (Country Villa Weddings in Pungo) and he was right next to the dance floor, where he kept the music and partying going all night. He made the announcements, worked with my Day Of Coordinator (Baxter’s Creative Events) and together they made this wedding more special that I could have imagined. I was able to enjoy being the mother of the bride and Marcus made it all happen.

Book him now before someone else does! We converted our large wedding down to 36 people and Marcus was not only amazing to work with during the COVID transition of plans but he made the night as awesome as could be! Guests from 3 to 80 years old had a blast and Marcus was constantly reading the room to choose what would work best for the audience. I even got to DJ for a bit as the bride!! We truly had the time of our lives working with Marcus from Hype and will definitely rebook for future family events in the area.

DJ Hype is worth every penny. He was wonderful to work with, we had so much fun, our guests couldn't stop raving about how great of a DJ he was. We danced for nearly 5 hours straight. Would recommend DJ Hype without hesitation. Don't think about it, BOOK HIM!
