I Do.. Gorgeous!

I had my wedding in July of 2024, and booked with I Do...Gorgeous based on their website photos of previously done hair styles - primarily the braid work that I saw on there. I knew I wanted something with braids and I am so happy I went with Olenka! She was really really nice, I honestly really enjoyed having her as my hair/makeup stylist vendor!! I was probably the most nervous about my hair/makeup - primarily because I don't tend to wear a lot of makeup or have my hair done often and felt like I didn't have enough knowledge of what I wanted compared to other brides - but Olenka and Sarah really took my picture ideas and transformed them into reality! We had my bridal party and mother of the bride get both of theirs done, about 6 people total. They finished with plenty of time to spare!! We were not rushed neither, it was a smooth sailing experience. We all had different tastes and desired styles, but they both completely understood the assignments and made everyone look amazing! We all had similar updo styles, but with enough individual personality, and I really loved that. My hair turned out absolutely perfect! Sarah mentioned she had been doing hair for years and you can definitely tell! I ended up with the perfect braided look for my day. It lasted all day, I didn't have any trouble with it falling out. My makeup I went with a more natural look, and I again was worried because I don't have the best eyebrows, but Olenka nailed it! I absolutely looked my prettiest I have ever looked that day. They both stuck around after pictures were taken to tweak anything needed. We didn't really need anything tweaked, but I really appreciated that they stuck around just in case. I can't thank them enough for the experience that day!! Their expertise, calming nature and positivity helped provide me with a rather stress-free wedding day.

I booked olenka for my upcoming July wedding almost a year ago. Fast forward to this past April I had my trial booked with her. I told her I wanted a simple curled half up half down look showing her about 10 inspiration pictures. When my trial was finished, I was very unhappy. I texted olenka to tell her how I felt and kindly asked for my deposit back (200$). I also had spent 75 dollars on the trial plus a 25 dollar tip. She told me no and basically said my hair was not able to be curled the way I wanted and she would recommend an updo. I have had my hair done for weddings I was in and my curls lasted all night so I don’t think that was the case. I am only giving 2 stars because Olenka was very friendly. However, I was not happy with how my hair turned out at all and would have appreciated at least half of my deposit back. Being a bride in this day and age money is tight and I consider the $300 a waste. I attached photos of how my hair turned out from my trial and then 2 of the inspiration pictures I showed her.

I waited a year to review and I still feel like I should share my experience. I booked for a 2021 wedding but due to Covid it got moved to 2022 I did my phone consultation with Olenka and went over all the details and sent my deposit. When I had to move she confirmed she was available for the 2022 date. We set up a hair and makeup trial about a month before my wedding. When I arrived to the trial Olenka set up with me she was not in the studio, in fact she wasn’t even in the same state. The two women at the studio told me they weren’t surprised she did this. They weren’t able to get ahold of her but did leave a voicemail. I got a call back and Olenka was in another state and had forgotten we had our appointment and at this time told me that I should make my hair and makeup trial with these two other women who would actually be doing my hair and makeup as now she was not going to be doing it because it’s wedding season and she booked another wedding. I was booked with Olenka first, had had the consultation over the phone and paid her, she was contracted to do my wedding and now she’s having two people I do not know do my wedding and couldn’t even consult with me first. I had taken the day off for this trial only for her to not be there and then drop this on me. So not only am I a month from my wedding but I now have to meet and talk with two new people and find an appointment before my wedding in a few weeks. The two women who ended up doing my hair and make up were very nice, honestly didn’t love how hair and makeup turned out. We all ended up fixing them ourselves as we got dressed. I’m here a year later and still feeling frustrated with how it all went down. If I’d known she wasn’t going to do my wedding I would have found someone else, she told me she was going to do it with the help of one extra person and then for her to just drop me. I specifically booked with her and discussed with her that I was booking because I wanted Olenka doing my bridal look and I understood she was going to have 1 other helping her. I can’t decide if that’s more frustrating or the hair trial fiasco. But since then whenever someone asks for hair and makeup recommendations I tell them to avoid ”I do… Gorgeous”.
