n the wedding photography industry, I would argue that there are few photographers better than Ian. He is extremely detail oriented, punctual, and communicative. He takes your wedding experience seriously and has as high of expectations of your day as you do, which enables him to capture your moments like few other photographers could. Ian gets you out of your comfort zone to take incredible pictures while keeping it fun and lighthearted. We laughed a ton with Ian. With Ian, you can expect that he will take 3X-5X more pictures than other wedding photographers and go above and beyond for your engagement and wedding photos. He also arrives in the morning whenever you'd like and stays until you leave at the end of the night. He took our last photo of the evening in the limo. A quick story...when we were searching for a photographer, the first two vendors we called asked us how he/she should photograph the wedding. When we called Ian, he informed and educated us on the best ways to capture every moment we wanted to. This makes a BIG difference the day of. The wedding photographer should be an expert - you should not be telling him/her what to do. You can make suggestions, but they should have enough experience to catch the right angles and sun, scope out the best shots of your venue, and corral guests to stay on time. Ian did all of these things. This is something you will rarely find with photographers. We were incredibly pleased with Ian and will recommend him to any friends and family that get married in the future. Do not consider a wedding photographer without speaking with Ian Borgerhoff.

600 weddings and trained with the best photographers in the world. I was never worried if he was getting the right shots or not as I knew he was. They were there until the very end of the night capturing our favorite moments! For us, having an amazing photographer was so important as that would be all we had left of our big day. Ian was absolutely the right choice! I cannot even begin to explain how amazing he was!

from the time the girls were getting ready until after the reception. He set up a screen with ceremony and bridal party photos as the reception- sooo cool! He'll edit a ton of photos, but we get the raw image of every photo shot!! He is seriously more than worth the money.

t would help direct our day and make sure we got the shots we wanted. The engagement session was so helpful for us to get to know Ian and be comfortable with him on the wedding day. Our photos are BEAUTIFUL!! We also used his services for the "photobooth" at our reception and the photos are like none I've ever seen before at a wedding. So so beautiful - the guests are delighted!

nt pics showed that & were pretty awkward, but we did get some good ones once we got more comfortable with it. And the quality of the pictures was great. So doing an engagement shoot was crucial - if you ask me - to getting ready for the big day. On the wedding day, Ian & his crew spent basically the whole day with us. We were running late, so I think that was a little stressful for him, but he took it in stride & still got lots of very good pictures in our "first look" before the ceremony. We were SO glad Ian offered this as an option because shortly after the ceremony a giant storm rolled in. We would've missed the chance to get as many good pics if we'd done it all after the ceremony. Also to Ian's credit, he got many more pics in the short window between the ceremony & the sky opening up to dump water on us all! Ian & his asst photographer stayed until the last guests all ran inside to get away from the worsening lightening & downpour. He got some amazing shots that really captured our feelings & experience of our big day - storm and all! If you do use Ian, you can expect high quality, which takes time. It was quite a while between the wedding & getting the pics (about 10 weeks), but he had told us to expect that, so we weren't upset - just eager to see the pics! When they came we were very pleased with the results. There were a few he touched up a bit too much - started out getting rid of weird shadows on my face & maybe photoshopped a bit further - but he explained why & said he'd be happy to give us a less photoshopped version. We haven't gotten to that yet, but we might take him up on it. As a rule though, he does a great job in capturing you as you are & as you feel in the moment. The handful of pics that were maybe a little too processed were a teeny tiny fraction of the thousands (yes, thousands) of pics that were perfect & still had my face as round as it is in reality. Ian also will give you all the edited & all the raw pics on a hard drive, so if you want to tinker with them (as my husband does), you can tweak them yourself. In our search for a photographer, Ian was the only one who laid this option on the table from the get-go. All the other ones I talked to at bridal shows practically laughed at me & said there's no way they'd do that. And in giving us all the pics, we can print whatever we want at any time. We thought this was fantastic, especially considering the nickel-and-dime pricing of all the others we looked into. He also sets up a website so your guests can buy pics too! So with Ian, quality is excellent & access to the pics is amazing. He's very skilled & professional & in touch with what brides & grooms want. He also includes a photo booth & makes slide shows with songs of your choice. There was a slide show for our engagement pics, one for the wedding pics, & another that he played DURING THE WEDDING! So he had a high resolution, gigantic computer screen up during the wedding that went through the pics he'd taken earlier that day (us getting ready and our pre-ceremony pics). Everyone was really impressed with that. So as you can see, we were VERY happy with how great Ian is to work with & the stellar quality of his work. For all this his price is still competitive with other photographers.

is thinking so he will tell you when something doesn't look good- I personally liked that... I knew my photos would be great. The only downside was towards the end of the night I felt rushed. He wanted to get going and skipped reminding us of some of the shots we had requested. I wasn't that disappointed because overall he did an awesome job, I just thought that that could have been handled differently.

Also, Ian meticulously edited our final photographs providing us with both color and black and white images. Having him edit and enhance each image made our collection unparalleled to many I have seen. I do not know of many other professionals that provide this service with the same quality, reasonable price, and acceptable turn-around time –again, another rarity provided by him. Artistic & Inventive–what I absolutely loved about working with Ian is that he knows how to help you look your best in your images. He is full of artistic, fun, engaging photo ideas, poses, and shoot locations. I didn't have to spend any energy stressing about what shots we should do next. Ian had so many amazing ideas and it really helped me and my husband just enjoy our experience – which was truly reflected in our photos. Comfortable & Caring – after a mere few minutes of meeting Ian, you can sense that he is just as excited about capturing your special moments as you are. He truly loves what he does, which makes the whole experience that much more memorable. Even my husband commented on how relaxed he was throughout the session!
