Ian Martin of Ian Martin Wedding Photojournalism combines spontaneous, candid photography with relaxed informal portraiture to create heartfelt visual stories of the weddings he photographs. Ian is based in Carmel, California, close to some of the most beautiful places in the world to get married. Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley, Monterey and the San Francisco Bay Area are all places that Ian regularly photographs weddings at.

Ian photographed over 700 weddings since he began his wedding photography business in 2001. Ian's non-wedding photography work has been published in various publications such as Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and The New Yorker.
Services Offered
Ian provides the print-resolution digital files of the wedding photographs he creates to his clients, as well as a password-protected web gallery for every wedding. Albums and prints are also available.

to our favorite place, Carmel, and elope. We were referred to Ian through our wedding planner. We communicated with him on the phone and via email a few times prior to our wedding. He was responsive, professional, gave great suggestions, and made us very comfortable with the entire process. The day of our wedding, he was even more amazing in person and once we received the final product of our wedding photos we couldn't be happier! The first time we met was the day of my wedding, his camera already held up to his face. His easy going attitude helped ease the stress of the hectic day. He even helped zip my bridesmaids into their dreses when we realized the zippers had been comprimised during alterations!
Our potraits went smoothly as he was kind yet direct. The rest of the night his presence went almost unnoticed.
Once we recieved our pictures in an apprpriate amount of time (about a month and a half later), I was overwhelmed with happiness. They all came out beautifully and I was able to see every aspect of my wedding, even details I hadn't noticed! There was no need for a vidiographer because I saw my whole night unfold in his images.
Bottom line... Ian is incredible and I couldn't be happier with the choice to use him on such an important day!

Ian is very easy to work with. I haven't gotten my pictures back yet but he was great at the wedding. He was extremely professional and organized and flexible.
