Ian's Creations

Like many others, my (now) husband and I were not entirely sure whether booking a videographer for our wedding was a "must-have" or more of a luxury. We selected the highlight reel and full length wedding film package and can honestly say that, out of an all-star vendor team we were able to book (and then rebook when we had to postpone due to COVID), booking Ian's Creations was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made. Ian was so thorough, organized and responsive that communicating with him throughout our postponement and then finally leading up to the wedding was reassuring and stress-free. When we finally got to meet Ian (and his second shooter, Mat) on our wedding day, it felt as if we were all old friends--it was so much fun to work with the two of them (and a total thrill to get driven around in the Spidey-mobile for our first look) that we often forgot we were "on camera." Our family and bridal party were put at ease while filming and thoroughly enjoyed getting to work with Ian and Mat as well. Of course, nothing tops when we first received our highlight video from Ian--I can't count how many times I've watched it at this point but it has garnered many happy tears from me, my husband, and all our family and friends. It was particularly meaningful to have these memories captured on film and to be able to share a full-length video of our wedding given that there were many loved ones who were unable to attend due to current circumstances. All of this is to say that, if you are unsure as to whether a videographer fits into your wedding budget/vision, please talk to Ian and check out his work--he is absolutely worth every penny.

Ian and his team are hands down the best videographers in the DC/Charlottesville (in our case, South Boston) area. From the beginning, Ian was a delight to work with. He was quick to respond to any questions, extremely kind, and very professional. The plans for our wedding day changed quite a bit due to COVID, but Ian rolled with all of the date changes/downsizing/rearranging that came with getting married in a pandemic without ever batting an eye. When we got our highlight film back I sobbed happy tears the entire way through it – he captured our day more perfectly than I could have imagined. And when we got our full wedding film back a few weeks later, I was in complete shock. We had given up hope of being able to hear anything from our outdoor wedding ceremony, because the winds reached up to 40mph and even people sitting in the front row in-person could hardly hear a thing. But Ian must possess some sort of magic powers, because you can hear every. single. word spoken by me, my husband, our officiant, and our readers. I am so, so happy with all of Ian’s work, and know we will treasure our videos forever. I can’t wait to make a yearly tradition out of watching our videos and reliving all of the joy and love our wedding day held. I would highly recommend Ian for all of your videography needs!

Ian and his assistant did a great job videotaping my daughter's wedding day. We couldn't livestream the ceremony for our virtual guests because the internet wasn't strong enough at the wedding venue, but Ian was able to somehow upload his video via a link to my daughter's wedding website. It worked out great! They were extremely professional and I can honestly say I rarely saw them doing their job!

I can't recommend working with Ian highly enough. My wife and I had certain ideas in mind for our video, and Ian made it happen. To make matters more challenging, it rained torrentially on the day, and Ian was one of the key voices who encouraged us to do the ceremony outside, just as we'd planned. Ian from Ian’s Creations is an incredible talent, and I promise you want him and his team as part of your wedding day. We were beyond pleased with the final video as well as the highlight reel. Due to getting married in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, many of our loved ones were not able to celebrate with us, and we are so grateful to have a wedding film that is the quality of a feature full-length movie to share with everyone who was not able to be there. We are so thankful to Ian for being there on our wedding day. Not only was he professional, he made us and our bridal party (not used to being on camera) feel very comfortable. So many times we forgot about the cameras’ presence and just enjoyed the moment, then got to see all of those moments played back. It’s incredible how Ian was able to capture the true feeling of our day, and edit the footage together in the perfect way that tells our story. My husband and I are able to happily reflect on our day and be thrilled with vendor decisions all around. However, Ian's Creations was one that was SUPER special to us. To be honest, we wavered a little bit with whether or not to even have a videographer, but almost two months after our wedding now, I can confidently say it was one of the best, if not the best, decision that we made. Ian was easy to work with, flexible, responsive, encouraging, and supportive. On our wedding day, he was respectful, fun, nice, and sometimes we didn't even notice that he was capturing magic moments. The sound/audio on our wedding is absolutely perfect. I can't stress enough that choosing Ian to capture your day will be the best decision you make. He not only creates videos, but creates magic moments and memories that you will have forever. The day flies by so to have such a talented team there from Ian's Creations helped us to be able to never forget our big day.

We opted for the 2 videographer package with an extra hour of coverage and it was worth every penny. We got excellent shots of important moments from 2 angles and it made both our highlight video and also our 20 min cinematic video very fun and interesting to watch. No matter what package you choose, Ian was quick to respond, excellent to work with, fun and engaging, and produced an excellent product that only a professional could do. Would highly recommend, especially because his price is so good for the product he provides. Most videographers of his expertise are charging $6000 on this site.

Ian and his assistant did an amazing job with our wedding videography! From the beginning it was easy and I really never noticed he was there (in the best way possible). He even sent me a short snippet of the video so I could use it in one of my own I had been doing leading up the wedding. He captured so many beautiful moments and ones I didn't even realized happened and was just lovely to see. I couldn't have imagined our wedding without his service. He truly does an excellent job!

I would highly recommend a wedding video, as it was so nice to go back and remember moments we had already forgotten since the day was such a blur. I wouldn't recommend just any videographer though--I would definitely choose Ian! He has a great eye for unique shots and does an excellent job of capturing every beautiful moment. He was great to be around on the wedding day and super helpful with one of our requests for editing after the fact as well.

We cannot speak highly enough about Ian's Creations. First, the final product was phenomenal. We opted for the "documentary" style film, and couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. The shots are beautiful. When we got our highlight video, we watched it once a day for two weeks and cried every time. Second, Ian is an incredible person to work with. We had a horrible rainstorm right before our reception, but Ian just rolled along with us, making us laugh and keeping everyone in good spirits. We highly recommend him for any wedding. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to book Ian for our wedding over Labor Day Weekend at The Inn at Willow Grove. I produce videos in my 9-5, so I was very nervous (and picky!!) about choosing a wedding videographer. I met Ian at a friend's wedding and thought he so beautifully captured her day, I decided to book him for mine as well. He is SO GREAT to work with in-person (he clearly loves his job!), and was super responsive pre- and post- wedding. He's worth every penny (and honestly, you get far more bang for your buck with him than some others I considered). Having photographers and videographers whose company you enjoy is very important for your wedding because you spend more time with them on your big day than you realize, and I would no doubt pick Ian again. He's talented, hardworking, and so easy to work with. We've watched our videos on repeat so many times and will hold onto them forever. Thank you Ian!

I can't say enough positive things about Ian and his team. Ian was willing to work with me from the very start to ensure he could provide me with everything that I needed, within my budget and within his means. Ian and Matt were so easy to work with...they went with the flow of the wedding, stayed out of the way yet also butted in when they needed to, and they were both such nice people that we thoroughly enjoyed meeting. We felt blessed to have them on our team of vendors. After the wedding, he sent us our highlight video well on time, and needless to say we were COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by it. I'm not kidding...we've probably watched it > 20 times in a week, and each time it just gets better. Ian is a professional and a master at what he does. Both the highlight film and the full length wedding film are beautifully and creatively crafted, with seamless transitions, appropriate music, and great quality video and audio. If you are on the fence about booking a videographer, TAKE THE LEAP. My husband didn't think a videographer was necessary, but once he saw Ian's film, he was SO thankful that I booked Ian. He caught moments that were impossible for my photographer to catch - priceless moments that we will now get to watch over and over. We really can't thank Ian enough.

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about our experience and our wedding video by Ian’s Creations!! From start to finish, the process of working with Ian was absolutely wonderful! When first booking, Ian and I facetimed and he diligently and happily answered every one of my long list of questions. He was patient and excited to hear about every detail. I knew immediately that we would work well together and booked him right on the spot. In the time leading up to the wedding, Ian was always very responsive and very polite, and a couple weeks before the wedding, we talked for almost two hours, going over every detail. He made me feel so secure in my choice of videographer and I knew he would capture everything I was hoping for. On the big day, Ian and his associate videographer arrived right on time and worked phenomenally with my photographer. They were totally in sync and made the entire documenting process smooth and perfect. Ian was an absolute joy to be with that day, he seemed genuinely excited to be with us and we thoroughly enjoyed having him there! During the ceremony and the evening, I never knew exactly where he was, but he obviously was everywhere, because the results we received showed a thorough attention to every detail. We decided to contract for a 2 minute trailer and a 20 minute cinematic video, and oh my goodness we were so impressed! The trailer was a perfect encapsulation of the biggest moments of the day and was a wonderful way to show friends and family the best highlights. And the 20 minute video was more than we could have ever hoped for! The editing moved you from one event to the next flawlessly, capturing all the beauty and intense feelings of the day! And his song choices for each segment really allowed you to feel the elegance at the appropriate areas and then the carefree party atmosphere later on. He was even able to work in our processional and recessional songs, which were particularly special to us. Ian is so incredibly talented and just a wonderful person in general to have as part of your wedding day experience. I am so thankful I had him as my videographer! If you are hoping for an incredibly personalized and gorgeous video in order to look back and remember the most beautiful and important day of your life, We highly recommend you choose Ian’s Creations!

We really wanted to capture the best moments of our wedding on video and we believe Ian did that. I had seen Ian's videos online and loved the artistry and how he told a romantic story in each video. We were so thrilled we were able to work with Ian. He took the time to get to know us through phone calls, emails, and meeting in person. We let him know what specific things we wanted to capture and then we left the rest up to his artistic discretion, which was a great idea because he created amazing shots and got the key moments. Ian is also incredibly wonderful to work with. He is really nice, patient, friendly, and professional. He also sent us a keepsake thumbdrive with the short and long videos. Our wedding was chaotic and went by so fast so it is really special to us that we can now go back and see and experience our favorite moments whenever we want.

My story with how I started working with Ian is really a very unique one. I first met Ian at my cousins wedding even before I was engaged. When Ian put on facebook the highlight film from my cousins wedding I was blown away, I could not stop crying at how beautiful it was. A few weeks later I got engaged :) When all the engagement excitement settled down and it was time to start booking vendors I knew the first person I had to call was Ian. Ian and I talked that first day on the phone and he answered all of my questions and was so kind and easy to speak to. He asked me what date I had picked for my wedding and I laughed and said "no date was picked but I know for 100% I want to work with you so how about you tell me days you have open November 2017". And just like that I found out my wedding was on November 11, 2017. I was never so sure of anything in my wedding planning process as I was about booking Ian. Needless to say the wedding has come and gone and I just received my film from Ian. Right now I am struggling with the words to describe his work of art. He captures EVERY moment and more. And it is done so elegantly. Ian is true talent. The thing I am most blown away with is how Ian can take you on the journey of the wedding so beautifully and make you relive the day over and over. In terms of working with him and his business partner Mat --- they might be the easiest, most low key, fun people I have ever met. They have this way to make you feel totally at ease and you even forget that they are there. Ian has given my husband and I the greatest wedding gift possible.... A way to go back in time the our greatest day ever. Ian’s work of art is something we will treasure forever. Everyone should be so lucky to have Ian on your wedding day! Hiring Ian was one of the best wedding decisions I could have made. I have received both my highlight video and my full length (on a really cool wooden usb inside a cute wood box) and I am so impressed with both. My highlight video gets the most use, as every single one of my clients watches it and some even cry! He really listened and it turned out better than we could have imagined. Absolutely wonderful! Not only was Ian incredibly responsive, easy to work with and professional, but he made the entire video process so fun. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the work Ian's Creations did on our elopement film. Since it was such a small ceremony, we wanted a video that captured the atmosphere and intimacy of the day so we could share it with friends and family who weren't in attendance. Ian and Mat did just that. They worked with us to figure out the best shots for certain activities (i.e., where we would have our "first look," etc.), were very enthusiastic and tried out lots of cool shots (without interfering with the actual events of the day), and provided comic relief all along the way! From start to finish, Ian was an absolute dream to work with. In the beginning of the process, he worked with me, tirelessly answering my many questions and emails. He was prompt, professional and efficient. When we met him at the wedding, we instantly felt comfortable with him! He was kind and very friendly, and it made having a camera around easy to adjust to (considering I won't lie, if you aren't someone who gets filmed often, it is a little bit of a daunting feeling at first), but he fit right in with our group almost as if I had known him for years. We received the film quickly, and also a mini film that we were able to share with our friends. I truly feel videographers have one of the hardest jobs at weddings, it definitely is a true art. He also selected music for our film- which I have to say I love, I could not have selected better music myself! Ian is a true gem, go into this contract with confidence! One of our favorite decisions made during the wedding planning process was deciding to hire a videographer. One of the best decisions we made was hiring Ian to do that for us! We are beyond pleased with the work he did - We absolutely love our wedding video, which allows us to re-live the day over and over! Hiring a videographer was a bit of a stretch for us budget-wise. But, when we saw the videos Ian had shot, we decided to go for it. We’re so glad we did! From the beginning, Ian was so great to work with. He was a great listener - eager to hear about the details of our wedding so that he knew which parts were most important to capture on film. During the day, Ian and his assistant were awesome. We never felt like they were too obtrusive and they were super friendly throughout. The end results - our highlight video and full film - were phenomenal. We must have watched the highlight film 50 times or more. It really captured the feeling of the day. The full film was much more edited (in a good way) than I had anticipated. Segments leading up to the ceremony were stitched together with different shots and songs. Then we got to relive the full ceremony, all of the speeches, and highlights from the reception. If you’re looking for a videographer, I can’t recommend Ian highly enough.

Working with Ian for our wedding film was amazing and easily the best choice. We found him after he had shot a promo video for our wedding venue, and the ability to add in amazing drone shots didn't hurt! Ian made us feel so comfortable, worked great with our photographer and wasn't intrusive at all. He was great helping us with our music selection and finding something perfect that fit our style and personalities. He was always available for questions throughout the full planning process. We just received our wedding highlight film (within 2 weeks!) that had me and all our family and friend in tears, including my mother who was hesitant on getting a video, but immediately saw the value. The wedding film was delivered in an awesome custom made box and USB. The little details were all on point, Ian was great and would highly recommend him to anyone!

Ian and Mat were exceptionally professional, patient, and creative. They got great shots of the venue, captured the ceremony beautifully, and filmed many fun moments of the reception. Naturally we tried to cut costs where we could, because weddings cost tens of thousands of dollars and photography and videography takes a big chunk of that. We knew we wanted Ian based on his really amazing portfolio but trust me when I say that you will not regret the money spent for a second. We absolutely loved our highlight reel, of course more than any other we've seen because it's our own. But also, we had no idea that Ian would edit our entire full length video. It was such a nice surprise to see the same style of videography carried through the full length. Ian also sends the thumb drive in an adorable wooden box and sent a magnet with a picture of audio waves from our vows. From start to finish, he's a details man and it really shows.

Ian was an absolute pleasure to work with! During the planning process, he was very responsive to my needs and questions and made my job easy. During the wedding, Ian was very professional and even stuck around longer in order to capture all the special moments. The films he created are absolutely amazing and I exceeded all my expectations! Hiring Ian was one of the easiest and best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. He filmed my brother and sister-in-law's wedding about a year ago, and right from the beginning we knew we liked him! Ian was a recommendation from a friend so I already knew from day one he would be an excellent choice as the videographer for my wedding. However, just to certain, I watched some of the videos he has posted and teared up during all of them. Once it hit me that I was crying over stranger's weddings, I immediately reached out and thankfully Ian was available for our date. Not only did he do such a beautiful job on both our highlight video and full length film (again, all the tears and SO many compliments from friends and family) but he was such a joy to work with from the beginning of the planning process to receiving our video just a couple weeks after the wedding! I'm not the only one who felt that way as well... he had never met my photographer before but the way they worked together made it feel like they had been a team for years. Ian is AMAZING! I didn't meet him in person until he showed up to start filming our rehearsal dinner, but I already felt like I knew him! He was so great communicating before the wedding (all 12 months before!) and provided examples of various options in our wedding package (drone footage, how cool!). Ian and his wife got amazing footage and the highlight video was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have even begun to think of arranging the details the way that he did for our videos, really awesome. Our highlight video was ready in <2 weeks and we had the full footage in hand in <3 weeks (in a really cool wooden USB drive too!)! I can't believe the quality was so amazing in such a short amount of time! I highly recommend Ian and his team... just watch his highlight videos, you won't be disappointed!!!!

We were lucky enough to have Ian film our wedding from start to finish. Both the highlight video and the DVD have been so much fun to look back on and see all of the little details that we missed throughout the night!
