ding involves indelible trust, and we were praying for someone who would remove the anxiety, panic, and stress of that. Sadly, there were numerous moments where communication, coordination, and skill were lacking, which created enomrous confusion for vendors, members of our wedding party and, ourselves. As a result, incredible important details we had discussed and agreed on at length were completely missed and handled vastly different than we had planned together as a unit. Details missed, are too extensive to write here. We cannot express the amount of pain that we endured from this. We stayed strong, patient, and gentle throughout the process with, IES. I had a physical condition that I was battling at the time that was exacerbated by anxiety and stress. Therefore the chain of events with, IES, caused further down spiral. Our work load more than quadrupled while under contract with them. We even pleaded with them to allow us to pay them more money to get the results we were in need of. We also offered to hire, Dakota, an assistant coordinator. She accepted neither of our offers. We reached out to, IES, on several occasions following the wedding in hopes that we could receive an apology, at the very least. We were not acknowledged in the way we needed, instead everything was denied and, we were blamed and shamed. We also approached, The Knot, for help because they were the platform, IES, was advertising with. We were wanting more than anything in the world to sort this out privately and not through a Google review, the Better Business Bureau, or social media platforms. We didn’t feel, IES, deserved that. But, unfortunately, The Knot, were not of assistance to us either. They’re merely a vessel for business advertising. It’s hard to find businesses that can share accountability for their misgivings. Ultimately we think our wedding was likely more than what the team could manage at the time. We want to acknowledge that coordinating a wedding is an undeniably demanding job, and we have deep appreciation for the efforts that are/were made. However, for future couples considering service with IES, we would recommend you consider things very clearly and with your heart. Have extremely detailed written timelines and confirm responsibilities vastly ahead of time to avoid the issues we experienced. Although we did exactly all of this and more, we weren’t able to avoid what ensued. We hope this review can help, IES, become the business we know they’re capable of becoming and we hope it can help couples by reminding them to make triple confirmations and have more than one backup plan in place. Our wedding day was still beautiful thanks to our family, friends, and a couple of vendors, but we do wish the coordination support and skillset had been stronger. After reading some of the reviews here I am saddened and wish that was our experience. We hope this feedback is taken constructively so future couples can have a smoother experience and businesses can build stronger.
