Venue itself is gorgeous. We had a larger wedding that stretched the venue a little thin. It states that it holds 350 but for weddings, the ideal number would be more towards 200 max, especially with the dance floor. You and the bridal party are able to get ready at the venue prior to the ceremony. An employee is there and very helpful the entire time. She even steamed all of the dresses prior to the first look. We were able to set up the day prior which helped out a lot! The food was incredible, but setting up the tasting was tough due to changing event coordinators. You are also able to take photos on the golf course which was gorgeous. It even poured the day before and the ground was still sturdy enough for all the ladies in their heels. We packed up everything that night due to just wanting to get things done. Overall amazing experience. All of our guests are still raving about the food!

All I can say is wow! This venue was everything we dreamed of and more for our wedding. From the very beginning, the team was kind, accommodating, and truly invested in making our day perfect. We started working with Peter, who later onboarded Abby, and they were both incredible throughout the entire process. The tasting in March was a highlight for us—we couldn’t wait to share the amazing food with our guests. The seasonal salad was unforgettable; we’ve had multiple guests tell us they’re already trying to recreate it for their Thanksgiving dinners! The risotto? Absolutely mouthwatering. Every bite exceeded our expectations. The planning process was seamless, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this venue. They allowed us to bring our own decorations and were incredibly flexible with timing and setup, making sure everything fit our vision. I wanted a stress-free day, and let me tell you, that’s exactly what I got. Della, who helped us in the bridal suite, was a lifesaver. She was so sweet and gracious, helping with every little mishap and even steaming all our dresses. Her calm and kind presence made the morning so much smoother. The grounds were stunning, especially for our fall wedding photos. The colors, the lighting, everything was picture-perfect. And let’s talk about the bar! Unlike so many venues with small, tucked-away bars, this place had a massive one that became a focal point of the party. It even made for some super fun bridal party photos! Our guests loved it, and it added such a lively vibe to the reception. Cocktail hour was probably our favorite part of the day. The transition from the ceremony to the reception was so smooth that we didn’t even notice it happening. Abby and her team were like ninjas—at one point, I looked around, and all our table décor was still there. Ten minutes later, everything had been carefully packed up, and I hadn’t even seen them do it. The dessert table was another standout moment. It was beautifully arranged and such a hit with our guests. I can’t gush enough about how thoughtful and detail-oriented the staff was. And then there’s the cost—so reasonable! My husband and I were genuinely shocked at how much we got for the price. There were hardly any upcharges, and the value was unmatched. Abby and Peter, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us create such an incredible day. You and your team went above and beyond, and we are so grateful. I can not thank Idlewild Country Club enough for making my grandma's 90th birthday party absolutely fabulous. Abby, the event coordinator, listened to all our concerns and made organizing the event effortless. The staff was respectful and worked together seamlessly, ensuring our celebration was unforgettable. The venue itself was elegant, spacious, and welcoming. Idlewild was 10000% the best decision we made while wedding planning. Abby and Peter were incredible in making sure everything was perfect and there were no problems. We had MULTIPLE people tell us it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Abby answered every question I had so quick that it made the whole process so easy. We were told multiple times "Just tell us what your vision is, and we will find a way to make it happen" and they really did just that and more! I was probably the least stressed bride in the world because of them! We HIGHLY recommend Idlewild. I would give more than 5 stars if possible Its also important that I mention that Della was a literal angel! She was the icing on the cake and made the getting ready process the best! Idlewild put on the best wedding reception we could have possibly imagined! The bridal suite was so spacious and accommodating for our large bridal party. Della was our amazing morning-of fairy godmother and helped us with every detail! The lunch provided was thoughtful, delicious, and easy to eat with a full face of makeup! No detail was spared, and everything went exactly according to plan. Peter, Abby, and the staff are completely top notch! Chef Jeff’s food was the best we have ever eaten at a wedding, a perfect steak and delicious chicken! Our guests are all raving about their food experience. Our day was absolutely PERFECT, all thanks to the hard work of the Idlewild staff. What we are most impressed with overall is Idlewild’s ability to make the biggest day of our life seem like a routine event on the planning end. Their capabilities are simply amazing!

Our wedding reception was at Idlewild in September 2022. The reception was everything I was looking for and more! Peter was extremely helpful with the entire process and walked us through every step, including giving us helpful suggestions to make the decision process easier. Although we had our ceremony at a nearby church, the bridal party was able to use the space at Idlewild to get ready, which was nice and spacious! Even the make-up team was excited to use the space at Idlewild, as they remembered it from a previous wedding they did and loved the space. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and our wedding day went smoothly thank you to Peter and his amazing team. We were able to drop off some of our own signs/decor the week of the wedding and Peter & his team took care of getting them set-up for the big day, which I was very thankful for. The food was phenomenal, and we've received many compliments from our guests about how delicious the food was. I couldn't have asked for a better day thanks to Peter & his team going above and beyond. Thank you for the best day! I highly recommend having your wedding at Idlewild!

Our wedding at Idlewild was perfection!! The planning process was so easy, yet so much fun! The staff at Idlewild showed that they truly cared about our wedding and making our vision come to life. The club manager and banquet manger are extremely knowledgable on weddings and were able to give us so many great suggestions to help make our day perfect! We have nothing but great things to say about the friendly and hard working staff, the great service, the beautiful venue, and the AMAZING food! The food was absolutely delicious! We had guest after guest come up to us to tell us how amazing the food was. Many times we go to weddings and the food comes out cold. Not at Idlewild!! The food was hot, so flavorful, and cooked to perfection! It truly was a perfect day from start to end! We would highly recommend Idlewild for your wedding to anyone. Idlewild pulled out all the stops! From beginning to end they were there every step of the way! Being the bride and having the luxury of being in one location for every aspect was the best. From getting ready there , to the ceremony , dinner & reception! The transition was smooth and their excellent staff quick with service! I truly had the wedding of my dreams. Family and friends are to thank but the location truly made it home! We live 5 minutes down the road! What a perk to have had such beautiful day this late in October too. Our wedding day at Idlewild was everything we dreamed of and more! The planning process was such a breeze with Taryn. She is AMAZING! She answered any and all questions, provided suggestions, and knew exactly what we wanted without having to say it. The day of our wedding, Taryn and the Idlewild staff had the room set up beautifully and were more than accommodating the entire night. We have gotten so many compliments from our guests on how GREAT the food was! We cannot say enough about Taryn and her staff. Idlewild and everyone we worked with made my wedding day so smooth. The food was delicious and there were options to accommodate all our guests with food restrictions. The banquet manager Taryn was incredibly helpful in every step of the process. We didn't have to worry about getting extra help from people for last minute things like set up and tear down, decorations, etc. I literally could not have done it without her. The bridal suite is so beautiful and an attendant named Della was available to help me get ready and made sure I looked my best. She knew all the little tricks and was so wonderful. The venue included everything you needed for a wedding without having to pay extra fees or worry about the hassle of finding vendors. It made everything so easy. Highly recommend.

Can I get married here every weekend? Seriously, amazing. The process was completely flawless from beginning to end. Taryn was so accommodating to me, my bridal party, my family and my guests. I received nothing but compliments from so many people the night of the wedding and after. Any request, question, suggestion, Taryn was there for me every step of the way. The food was amazing, the set up of being the only event, and just the space in general made this the perfect choice for us. From start to finish working with Idlewild was a dream. Taryn, the banquet manager was A M A Z I N G. So professional, sweet, a true pleasure to work with! She helped an enormous amount when we were going through the tough decision to postpone our wedding (original date 9/19/20 changed to 8/28/21) and Idlewild was incredibly accommodating. Taryn made sure all the details were perfect. The food tasting was such a treat (everything was so good!!!) For the big day, I can't even begin to describe how phenomenal everything was. My bridal party felt so taken care of (shout out to Della) and we had delicious treats while getting ready in the beautiful changing rooms made available to the bridal party. The space was everything we wanted and more. Everyone was so comfortable and the tables were perfectly spaced out. Everything was beautiful, from the chairs to the linen and up lighting. The ceremony layout was perfect and beautiful. Everyone LOVED the food, the food was so ridiculously good- we opted for a sweet table (which was beautiful by the way) and it was demolished within the hour! I can go on and have been going on about how wonderful Idlewild is. Without a doubt we had the best wedding ever and my friends and family are still so excited from the day. Also, I need everyone to understand that we had such a luxurious and fabulous day that didn't break us. It was incredibly affordable to have our wedding at Idlewild but we still had everything we needed and more. I just cannot thank Taryn and the rest of the team at Idlewild enough for the best day of my life.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not easy but planning at wedding at Idlewild country club was! Taryn made the process easy and fun and kept me sane during the unknowns. The food was beyond amazing and the staff beyond helpful. The day of I had EVERYTHING I needed including an amazing space to get ready in and a cooler for my drinks. Not only is the venue beautiful but the staff is amazing. My day was absolutely perfect. I can’t say enough good things about Idlewild and I would recommend it to any wedding/party/gathering. They made sure everything was the way I wanted it down to the the table decor. I highly recommend idlewild to any bride/groom.

We hosted a bridal shower for my niece at Idlewild Country Club in June 2020 and it was such a wonderful event! The food was absolutely delicious (everyone commented on the yummy Parmesan bowls that the salad was in) and we brought our own cake which they generously cut and served. We brought decorations and they were so helpful in getting it all set up and just as we wanted it to look! The servers were fabulous and we were a group of about 35 people and they got the food out to all of us at the same time! It's such a pretty light filled space on the inside and they provided the table cloths and napkins and also a great speaker so we could play our own music! The team at Idlewilde is fantastic and I would recommend them for your next event for sure!!

Our wedding reception turned out to be everything we wanted and more. Taryn and the staff at idlewild were very open to any questions, crazy requests, or concerns that we had throughout the planning process. Our guests continue to talk about how fantastic the food was! The cocktail hour was tastefully done with a beautiful anti pasta and shrimp cocktail display. Myself and my bridesmaids got ready in the women’s locker room and it was wonderful. Della provided delicious food and amazing help throughout the morning. Overall we are so happy we chose idlewild for our reception venue!

Idlewild provided our absolute DREAM wedding. The space and grounds are gorgeous no matter what time of year. You can customize almost anything you choose from the dance floor location, hanging lights, type/colors of chairs and type/colors of tablecloths, lighting, decorations. My brother was also married here a year prior and our guests thought we were married at two different venues due to the customization on the decorations. The space is HUGE and you never feel crowded or wait in line for a drink at the bar. Peter will walk you through everything each step of the way and provides great insight from the billions of weddings he has hosted. Every one of our guests raves about the food. You cannot beat the food. Anywhere. Ever. The customized appetizers, main dishes, sides, dessert table and late night pizza were things I could only dream about. The staff was so attentive not just to the wedding party, but every single guest. We don't have a single complaint from our whole experience. Thank you Idlewild!!

Everything was great about Idlewild! The food is amazing!! My husband is the pickiest eater and he ate everything off of his plate that would would not eat anywhere else. haha True story! But all in all, not only is this place beautiful and great for pictures, but Taryn the wedding coordinator is awesome! She made everything so easy and accommodated us in every way possible. I was going to Grad school while wedding planning and Taryn decreased my wedding stress by 100%!! Idlewild was the most perfect wedding venue! From start to finish, Peter and Taryn made planning a breeze. They made sure all of our vendors came together. Everything went seamlessly. We had a large wedding and the room is so spacious it didn’t even feel like that many people were there. There was great space between the tables and the bar is so big and accommodating no one was ever waiting in line. To this day people are still raving about the food, which is unmatched! The view of the golf course from the room is beautiful and our pictures on the golf course look amazing! We have nothing but great things to say about Idlewild, Peter and his staff, and how amazing our wedding went! Thank you Idlewild for giving us a PERFECT wedding day!!

Best venue EVER. The space is so elegant and you can customize it however you’d like. The tall ceilings and huge windows really make this place unique. Taryn is an amazing event coordinator and does whatever it takes to make your vision come true. She is very easy to work with! One of my favorite things about this venue is the bridal suite. You have a huge space just for you and your bridal party to get ready for the big day. A full room of counters, mirrors, and dressing rooms. As well as two tv areas and lockers to secure your things throughout the day. Della is there to make your day go smoothly by proving food, drinks, and everything else you may need. Love this place!

We had our wedding last weekend at Idlewild and couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue! Everything was amazing and the general manager Peter completely made the experience for us! They have an amazing locker room/bridal suite which was perfect for getting ready with all our bridal party! From start to finish the experience Idlewild gave us was beyond our expectations and I would recommend this venue to everyone!!

I would HIGHLY recommend Idlewild Country Club for an event! I had my wedding reception there in August 2019, I absolutely loved it! Everything was beautiful, the place was very spacious, the open window were perfect for outside light, the up lights were very pretty. I loved the service I received from Peter Corydon he was very nice, pleasant and accommodating, also Taryn was so helpful and made sure everything flowed on my special day, she made sure all the details were taken care of and was always available when I needed her. I thank and loved the entire staff! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Idlewild is the perfect place to have your reception at! The venue itself is so beautiful. It has glass doors and you have yourself a beautiful view of the golf course. So beautiful that my husband and I along with our wedding party, we took pictures out in the beautiful golf course. It has such a beautiful day out and it was perfect to get some good pictures out in the golf course. Not only the venue is beautiful but also the food is amazing and the manager Peter was so helpful with everything. My husband and I kept getting so many compliments the next day from our families saying how delicious the food was and we agree. The food here is amazing. Any type of plate you pick for your guests, they are going to love it. The manager Peter was super helpful and patient with everything. If you and your fiancé can’t decide on something for your reception, that’s what peter is there for. He will help in giving you options and see what you both like best. If it deals with decorations, the options for the food, and etc. That’s what he is there for. Also, my husband and I along with our families made mostly all the decorations for the venue and I figured we would have to set up all the decorations ourselves but thanks to peter we didn’t have to. He took care of setting most of the decorations up for us. All we had to do is take him all the decorations and he just set it all up along with the help of his staff. That was a huge help! Truly recommend doing your reception here!

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday at Idlewild Country Club and everything was absolutely fabulous! The club management and staff were experienced and professional. The event was polished, private, and the venue was beautiful with a full view of the golf course. Also, my guests have not stopped talking about the amazing food. From start to finish, we couldn’t have asked for a better time. Everything worked out fantastic, the food was outstanding, staff was very friendly. Tons and tons of compliments from our guests. Idlewild was excellent to work with on all aspects. From the finance side to the constant questions/meetings!! Very upfront and accommodating to any and all situations. Thanks Again!

It was a perfect day because Peter is a virtuoso event coordinator with a wealth of experience and an outstanding staff. Any potential snags were worked out long before the big day. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We concur! The bridal suite attendant took such good care of my bridal party and me. From steaming the dresses to helping with my 89 year old mother, she put everyone at ease immediately. It was a first class experience in a lovely setting... even with the clouds. Best of all, it did not break the bank.

If you are looking for a relatively stress-free wedding experience, then look no further than Idlewild! Not only is the location beautiful, but compared with all other venue options in the Chicagoland area, the cost and quality of services can not be beat. The consummately professional staff is led by GM, Peter Coryden. His 30+ years of experience shined through in his calming, reassuring manner, and his ability to foresee, troubleshoot and prevent any possible snags in our day. He responded to everything in a timely manner, and was generous, accommodating and considerate throughout. His knowledge of and good relationships with area vendors also added ease to all the planning. Chef Jeff paid special attention to all food preferences and sensitivities, and did not compromise taste. We had so many compliments about the deliciousness of the food! Della, was my fairy godmother throughout our wedding day. I didn’t even realize that the venue provided a personal attendant. She tended to and anticipated every need of our wedding party and even to our guests throughout the wedding. I can not say enough good things about this woman. Her loving presence was a gift. The space itself is also fantastic! One of my favorite spots was the bridal suite. It is one of the many free amenities Idlewild offers to make your day go by with ease so that your only focus is enjoying your time with those you love. I personally spent the full day there with my ladies. The salon sent their staff to ready us, and for a nominal fee Idlewild provided mimosas and delicious snacks. All in all, Idlewild is a classy wedding venue that conducts business with integrity, quality, affordability and style. Thank you Idlewild for making our wedding day extra wonderful!

Idlewild Country Club is an amazing venue for bridal showers and weddings! I had my bridal shower there, and everything was absolutely perfect. Service is excellent, food is amazing, venue is spacious and beautiful. My brother and best friend both had their weddings there as well, and everything was perfect for them too. I highly recommend this venue!

There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for the team at Idlewild! When my now husband and I first got engaged, I was living in Ohio and he was living in Iowa. We knew we wanted to get married in Illinois since most of our family is there. Idlewild took all the stress out of planning long distance. Peter was so responsive to emails and answered all of my questions without delay. Taryn and Cheyenne have been wonderful additions to the team and jumped right in to help make our day so wonderful. Chef Jeff did not disappoint with our food and I've had several people tell me that, not only was the food delicious, the presentation of it was gorgeous! My bridesmaids and I would not have survived the morning getting ready if it was not for Della. She was always there making sure I had food, water, and was comfortable and relaxed. If we had to do it all over again, Idlewild would still be our top choice for wedding venues! Thank you for playing such a huge role in making our day wonderful.

I have known Peter Corydon and the Idlewild Staff for many years now, and when my husband and I got engaged, I knew Idlewild would have to be the spot for our wedding. Peter was amazing helping me bring my visions to life, and going along with my crazy requests. He was quick to recommend different vendors, and great with checking in periodically to go over all the details. Leading up to the day, I knew I was in great hands and felt very comfortable the day of thanks to him and the Idlewild staff. Della in the women's locker room was amazing!! She had plenty of food and drinks available all day, and even helped me get into my dress, rub ointment on my aching feet, and bustle my dress for the reception. Without her in the locker room helping me every step of the way, I would have been extremely overwhelmed. Our day could not have been as perfect as it was without Idlewild Country Club and their staff. Peter and the staffs knowledge was instrumental when planning our wedding. From the planning to the staff executing the ceremony and reception, we could not have been more thrilled with the outcome. Everyone still talks about the food and how delicious Chef Jeff's dinner was. Thank you Idlewild Country Club for making the best day of our lives run so smooth! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a casual country club wedding to check out this venue. The price, location, scenery, staff, and food was top notch!

When I first met Jen (the wedding coordinator at Idlewild CC) as I was looking for a wedding venue space, I felt so at ease in the midst of all my wedding planning craziness. I have called Jen my "fairy godmother" of wedding planning since day 1 (and it still stands true). She never made me feel silly for asking so many questions and she literally turned our dream wedding reception into a reality. I cannot thank her and the staff at Idlewild enough for all their hard work and dedication to our wedding reception. The venue space itself was breathtaking! The food was delicious. The space was open and airy. We even got everyone outside on the terrace for a 4-minute firework show and it went perfectly because of Jen and Peter and their amazing attention to detail. Idlewild has a perfect flow to it. Between the bar, the dance floor, and our photo booth, guests were constantly in a circle of pure wedding bliss! This is not a "typical" ballroom space...and that's exactly what I loved about it! The room is comfortable and allows you to create your own sparkle and transform it into a unique space! If I had to do it all again, I would choose to have my wedding reception at Idlewild Country Club without a doubt!
