Il Fornaio - Coronado

We had our son’s rehearsal dinner at IL Fornaio in the El Moro room on May 10, 2019. We had 30 guests and the private room was perfect for having appetizers, dinner, drinks and dessert! The views from the room were brilliant. We enjoyed the privacy so we could visit with our guests. Lorri and Jenny we very helpful and accommodating with the planning of our dinner. The food was delicious along with the service! In addition they personalized the menu with the bride and grooms names. We were allowed in a little early to place centerpieces and favors on the tables which was very helpful. We would highly recommend them for your special event.

We had our wedding dinner at Il Fornaio and it was a fantastic experience. We were a small group of 12, but they treated as if we were a larger party. Jenny did my initial walk through and was incredibly attentive to my needs. She answered all questioned, responded in the same day, gave me all of the options and was respectful of the fact that I was shopping around for rates at first. I ultimately decided to go with Il Fornaio and I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch and you cant beat the views! They made my day so special. Lorri did a great job checking in with me along the way to make sure that I was receiving the service that I was expecting, going over final details a few days before my wedding and conducting the follow-up afterwards. Overall, a great experience!

We hosted our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Il Fornaio and we were delighted and happy with the entire evening~! The event planners were so helpful and fun and the staff that evening were attentive and wonderful! Everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner and drinks! We loved the patio area and couldn't be happier overall with our choice of Il Fornaio!!

We had our company Christmas party at Il Fornaio, and I was very pleased with everything! From the planning, to the delicious food and superb service it was a wonderful evening that all of my employees enjoyed. I would highly recommend Il Fornaio, and cannot wait to go back.

I had my baby shower lunch at a venue in Coronado. I was in between a few Catering companies and restaurants for the food but as soon as I spoke with Lorri I knew that Il Fornaio would be great. Lorri and Jenny were very easy to work with. They sent me the menu that they had for catering. There were a few things that I wanted to modify and even one item that wasn't on the menu at all. I was afraid to ask if they could do it but they worked with the culinary team and made sure I could have the meal of my dreams! They were prompt with their responses and the prices were extremely reasonable. The guests are STILL raving about the food days later, especially the basil pesto! I am so appreciative of what they did for us. They provided plenty of food and I was even able to freeze some of the leftovers for later. I would DEFINITELY recommend them for their catering services. I am hoping that for the next event I will be able to host it at the restaurant to have the full experience!

What a GORGEOUS wedding reception we had at Il Forniao in Coronado! It was truly so amazing, the staff was wonderful, the decor was stunning (we did bring in a lot of rentals) & the set up was perfect! The food was delicious & plentiful (and we ate it for the next 2 days out of our hotel room) & the view was perfect. Our guests had such a fun time, it was exactly how my daughter, Grace (the bride) and I wanted it to be. Like a fun, casual but gorgeous long cocktail hour! Lorri & Jenny & all the staff at Il Forniao, thanks so much for your hard work, your attention to detail, your great response time & all of your help! You made us all very happy!!!

After searching several restaurants in San Diego, I was recommended Fornaio Coronado for our daughter’s rehearsal dinner. Lorri & Jenny the event coordinator’s were wonderful to work with & the price was affordable for the high quality food & GORGEOUS views of the San Diego skyline for our close to 80 guests!! It was a bit chilly at night but the restaurant was equipped with heating lamps throughout our rehearsal dinner patio which made the evening even more charming & quaint. All our guests couldn’t stop taking pictures of the beautiful water front views absolutely breathtaking. Our daughter & our now son loved the restaurant that we chose for a spectacular occasion! Thank you Fornaio for the AMAZING food & superb Customer Service!! P.S many of our relatives were from TX so Fornaio was a fabulous & memorable experience for such a grand occasion.

Il Fornaio hosted the rehearsal dinner for my wife and me, and they did an amazing job! The food was delicious, the service was prompt, and everyone we worked with was pleasant to interact with. We worked with Lorri and Jenny, and the attention to detail throughout the planning process led to a flawless dinner service. Based on the food and drink selection, great views of downtown San Diego, quick service and very reasonable pricing, we would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an impressive event. We can't speak highly enough about Il Fornaio and are grateful for the experience we had!

We had our wedding luncheon at Il Fornaio and we absolutely loved it! Lori made everything so easy From planning to set up to break down. All of our guests were wowed at the beautiful patio space and the view. The service was extraordinary and the staff was polite and charming. Every thing was just perfect and like the way we want it ,from the first step to the very end .i just picked up the phone and said hi am planning to have a dinner party ,from that moment every thing was so easy ,the communication ,the way they explain every thing with details ,the cost of every single thing ,and they helped me alot with the menu and what kind of food me and my guest would prefer ,and the day of my event the food was delicious , the service was beyond perfect they were so smiley all the time and the service was super fast and excellent they just made my event so special thank you for that

Perfection! We had a small family wedding of 15, we all stayed at the Hotel Del... small ceremony on the beach and had dinner here at Il Fornaio afterwards. We had the Il Moro room and it was perfect!!!! The room was beautiful, the views have to be the best in Coronado, plenty of room for us to get up and mingle between courses, we did a slide show on the tv, we cut a cake and brought a speaker and played our own music. we also got a fireworks show across the water from the San Diego skyline that the kids loved! Wouldn’t change one thing about it!

We recently hosted our wedding reception at Il Fornaio on July 13th and we could not be happier with how everything turned out! We planned our wedding from Texas and had never been to Il Fornaio but it came highly recommended from all the locals I was working with for my other wedding needs. I communicated with Lorri and Jenny via email and phone and they put everything together for us! The turnout was better than I could have ever imagined. The staff that helped host our event that evening were awesome (special thanks to David, Tyan, Kyle, Luis, and Alessandra for your fantastic customer service). Anything that we could have needed or wanted, they took care of it! The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, and the views from the patio were just amazing. We had 2 vegan and 1 vegetarian guests and they were easily accommodated and provided with fantastic food, they were also so pleased and surprised with the sorbet desert option! I can not express my gratitude enough to the entire Il Fornaio staff, they truly made our special day even more amazing!

She made the best recommendations for both hor d’oeuvres and dinner! We had such a blast and the entire wait service was so awesome! My husband and I recently hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at Il Fornaio-Coronado. We had looked at several venues prior to selecting Il Fornaio, which did not disappoint! Everything about the evening exceeded our expectations! We comfortably hosted 48 guests on the patio just outside of the bar. The views both before and after sunset were spectacular. The severs were very attentive and professional. We selected menu option #2 and the food was excellent. The banquet managers were also very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. My husband and I highly recommend Il Fornaio - Coronado as an amazing venue to host a beautiful rehearsal dinner!

My son and new daughter-in-law held their wedding rehearsal dinner at Il Fornaio. I planned the dinner along with Lori's help and the entire process went flawlessly. From start to finish, if I needed help or to make changes, Lori and all the staff were completely cooperative and available. After conducting a thorough search of San Diego venues and restaurants, my husband and I chose Il Fornaio - Coronado as the location for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner, and we are delighted we did, as everything worked out beautifully. Since our son and future daughter-in-law wanted to be outside, we booked the La Piazza area which was great for our group of approximately 60 people. It was a nice space, and it looked particularly lovely after dark with the view of the San Diego skyline. The food was excellent, as was the service, and our guests were quite complimentary. Lorri Dunn, our event coordinator, was amazing. She always responded promptly to any questions or concerns I had, and she made me feel totally comfortable even though our planning was taking place long distance since I live in Georgia. We had our wedding reception here after our ceremony at Coronado Beach. Lorri was able to accommodate our party of 60 with just a few days notice after our original venue fell through. She was AMAZING with communication, putting everything together, and helping me keep my calm through the last-minute process! The free parking was very convenient, so right off the bat our guests had no stress arriving at the venue. Everyone raved about the gorgeous views! We were outside on the patio on a cool 60 degree night, but there were so many heat lamps and wind reducing glass panels that no one felt cold! The food and desert was incredible, and the cake they provided was better than any other cake we had tasted during our selection process from the original venue. I can't thank Lorri enough for making our night so incredible!

We just recently had our wedding celebration dinner here & everything from the restaurant location, the private dining room, the food, staff & service was impeccable! The waiting staff was so friendly, professional & made us feel really welcomed & taken care of! We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was beyond amazing. The view was gorgeous, food was delicious, staff helpful (throughout the planning process and that night too), and the small details were perfect. The menus had our names on them. It was such a beautiful evening!

We booked the Il Moro room for our wedding reception dinner at Il Fornaio and couldn't be happier with our experience. Lorri guided us during the entire process and was always flexible and willing to help us. Our tasting really helped us choose our menu and I am thankful to Lorri for scheduling it during a holiday Monday so I didn't have to miss work. My husband Kunal and I held our rehearsal wedding dinner (Thanksgiving Day) at Il Fornaio Coronado November 2016, almost one year ago. We had about 120 guests, our closest friends & family join us for a special dinner al fresco in the outdoor area of the restaurant. There were beautiful lights set up, a stunning backdrop of the Coronado Bay Bridge and skyline, and a phenomenal Thanksgiving day special menu! Kunal and I and our guests loved this venue so much. Lorri Dunn was incredible in helping us plan and the staff was awesome and friendly. If you are looking for an elegant and beautiful restaurant venue for a special event like your wedding, look no further! Everyone really enjoyed the evening and it truly was a memorable one. We had our rehearsal dinner at Il Fornaio in October 2017. We met with Lori (the events coordinator) a few times to decide on food and drink items that would be served and were very pleased with her organization and direction on how much and what exactly to feed our group. The service was excellent on the night of and the food was delicious. The price was also VERY fair and you CANNOT beat the views!! Thank you for an amazing experience!!

The service was impeccable from start to finish. The communication from Lorri Dune couldn't have been more perfect. Lorri Helped me put together a menu that would be pleasing to all my guest and was always in touch even when I would forgot to get back to her due to my busy schedule preparing for the wedding. The waiters were very tentative and accommodating to my 25 guest. I loved the fact that they had a separate menu for the kids that was affordable and that they serve the children first. Once the Ringbearer and Flower girl were served the adults were free to enjoy themselves, now that's experienced waiters! I come from an Italian family so for them to tell me that the food was delicious really made me feel good, I knew I nailed it! I have to say when planning the event other places wanted to automatically include extra gratuity, on top of the already 20% ( which I feel should be given only When extra is warrant not because you think you automatically deserve it) and room fee for the space, and they did not require this. Thanks for a memorable occasion and I would definitely use you again!

This was our third big family event held at Il Fornaio, Coronado. Two rehearsal dinners and the most recent our 60th Wedding Anniversary. Lori Dunn, the event coordinator is a wonderful and charming representative for Il Fornaio. She is so efficient you KNOW your event will be a success. She sets your mind at ease. The food - what a menu! My guests are still commenting on how delicious their meal was. Our wait staff couldn't be better. They anticipated your every need. As Hostess, I could relax and enjoy our anniversary . It was a fabulous evening.

On 9/2/17, we hosted our daughter's Rehearsal Dinner and "Meet and Greet" for family and out-of -town guests at Il Fornaio, Coronado. The entire staff, particularly Ms. Lorri Dunn, the Event Coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. The outdoor bar patio , La Piazza, was a perfect setting with beautiful views. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. The staff was sensitive to some guests special dietary needs. An added bonus was that Il Fornaio was a short walk from the Coronado Island Marriott, where the majority of our guests were staying. Looking forward to go back to Il Fornaio on our next trip to San Diego!

Lorri and Evelina were great to work with. They made everything easy for us as we were coordinating our own wedding. On the night of the reception, everything was perfect. The service team was excellent and very professional. They did the heavy lifting and made the evening unforgettable. The menu options were delicious and the presentation was spot on. Everyone I spoke with had nothing but high praise for Il Fornaio, the food, atmosphere, and service. I appreciated the efforts of the Event staff and Service team. It appeared effortless to us, but I know they worked hard to make it seem so. My bride kept saying nothing could have been better, and I agree. An awesome experience.

Il Fornaio Coronado is an AMAZING venue for events! From the amazing food, to the terrific/attentive staff and unbeatable view of the San Diego Skyline, you can't beat it! We had a wonderful experience...it seriously could not have gone any better! All of our guests were raving about the food (seriously the best wedding food ever), that gorgeous view, and how attentive the wait staff was. Seriously, we are trying to figure out what event we can plan next so that we can do it all over again. I cannot say enough positive things about Il Fornaio and Lorri (Event Manager)...Everything was perfect!!
