Il Lazzarone

Il Lazzarone was a perfect spot for our rehearsal dinner. They have lots of options for food and drinks and our guests loved everything. We had plenty of apps, pizzas, and wine and they are so accommodating! We were able to taste all the wines and we served and they let us choose an off menu beer selection. My only comment is make sure your guests take a taxi or Uber because parking is very limited (and if you're from KC you would know that based on how River Market is normally). If you are looking for a rehearsal dinner venue with a relaxed atmosphere and GREAT food, this is your place! My husband and I wanted Napoli pizza for our rehearsal dinner and we found Il Lazzarone online. The staff and management were nothing but helpful and prompt during the whole process. It was very easy to book the back room and plan our menu. When we arrived, the staff already had the room set up for us, including having tables set up for wine and beer. We chose buffet style dining (which I recommend for large parties) and it couldn't have gone smoother! Another plus to having your rehearsal here is they are located right by one of the street car drop offs so, if you have out of town guests staying downtown, it is very convenient for them. I HIGHLY recommend this place - you won't be disappointed!!

You should totally rent the private party room! I was a little nervous renting it because I had never had an event in that area of KC, but it turned out great! The streetcar went right in front of the restaurant, so guests could come and go safely (especially after a few drinks), parking was easy too since there is a huge lot right there. And that area of town in amazing! City Market is just down the hill and there are adorable shops, restaurants, and architecture at every turn - it's beautiful! Picture opportunities everywhere! Speaking of pictures, the private party room is so adorable - the original walls and doors are exposed so it has an antique-vintage feel with a modern industrial twist. Our pictures turned out so cute that we turned one into our Christmas card! The room was ready to go when we arrived and the service was prompt and reliable - our appetizers and food were perfectly timed and anything we needed was taken care of immediately. The room was near the bar, so that was very accessible and fun - the variety of eclectic drinks and the bartender himself were bonus entertainment! Overall we had a great party! The only downside was that we didn't rent it for long enough and there was a party after us, so we had to leave more or less on time. That was our fault, not theirs though because we wanted to linger and visit (and were having a great taste-testing of their fun drinks) but our time had long run out. So we moved to the cool bar area and continued the party - no harm done! I would definitely do this again for a baby shower, birthday or work party, or reunion mixer!
