Dan Michael: Cincinnati’s Top Wedding Photographer
If you’ve planned a wedding in Cincinnati in the past 15 years, chances are you’ve seen Dan Michael’s iconic work. Whether you k...now his name or recognize his photos, Dan is the top photographer in the city—and we truly can’t recommend him enough.
Planning a Wedding in Four Months? Challenge Accepted.
Planning a wedding in under four months is no small feat, so I was thrilled to learn that Images by Daniel Michael Photography had availability for our date.
Initial Meeting
Dan personally handles all initial consultations at his Reading office, matching couples with photographers based on style and personality. My mom and I made a day of it in the Reading bridal district, ending with our appointment with Dan. Despite arriving 30 minutes late due to a watch mishap, Dan graciously spent extra time with us, walking through photography styles and techniques. His passion for building genuine relationships with clients was clear, and his expertise shone through. We were excited to book Dan himself and joined one of his monthly socials the following week to introduce my fiancé and finalize our deposit.
Engagement Photos
Our package included engagement photos, and we chose to shoot in Covington to recreate our first date. While Dan typically prefers Sharon Woods, he was incredibly accommodating given the sentimental value. He used the session not just to capture beautiful moments, but also to learn how we interact, pose, and what kinds of shots we love—making the wedding day photography even smoother.
Wedding Day
Dan arrived with two associate photographers, and thanks to our previous meetings, socials, and engagement shoot, we felt completely at ease. Our bridal party and families loved his humor and energy. When we had to pivot our photo timeline and location last-minute, Dan and his team adapted seamlessly, finding perfect lighting and backdrops on the fly at George Rogers Clark Park.
Why Dan Is #1
Wedding days fly by, and having someone who truly sees and captures the moments that matter is invaluable. Did we get every Pinterest-inspired shot? Maybe not. But Dan took the time to understand us—our personalities, our families, and the unique touches that made our day special. He didn’t just replicate trends; he told our story through his lens. That’s what makes Dan #1.
