Amy and Skylar's team at Imana Hair are the greatest! I can't express how much I love them. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Skylar for years, so of course the first th...
ing I did when we booked the date for our wedding was call Imana and book Skylar for my hair and makeup. Skylar is so talented! All I had to do was show her 3 photos on Pinterest and she killed it! My hair was gorgeous and everything I imaged. And my makeup was stunning.
The whole team at Imana is professional and talented! They made my girls looks so beautiful and my mom looked like a rock star!
You know you've found the right team when all your guest continue you tell you all night long how beautiful, gorgeous and rockin you look! I would recommend Imana any day for your wedding, and I always recommend them for a cut and color!
Their staff is the best around! I am willing to drive an hour and half to get my hair done by Skylar and/or Amy. They do everyone in my family’s hair. They are excellent at cuts, s...
tyles, blowouts and coloring. Even my daughters hair they do to. Look no farther. They the ones you want.
I came to Amy for my wedding hair style and she could not have been more patient or helpful. I struggled to figure out how I wanted to style my hair and what my hair would actually...
do. I have very long naturally straight healthy thick hair. So curls or waves are difficult. Through countless trials, we finally came to a style that was perfect. My hair was amazing for my wedding!
Couldn't be happier with my wedding day hair! Skylar is amazing. I was a very laidback bride for everything regarding wedding planning, except for my hair. I am a bit OCD with it -...
I did multiple trials and was constantly looking at pictures, ideas etc for about 6 months. During the entire process, Skylar was patient, understanding and extremely kind. My hair came out simply BEAUTIFUL thanks to Skylar's magic. Because she's learned the type of hair person I am, she made sure the day of every little thing she did was okay with me, and constantly letting me see everything without getting annoyed (or just hiding it really well - lol). I could not have been happier with my hair, and got compliments all night. It also did not MOVE which was huge, which was the sole reason I had it up so it wasn't in my face or bothering me the entire day. Thank you so much Skylar!
I will start my review by saying overall it was a job well done. I had a large party of 12 receiving services, and all my bridesmaids looked phenomenal, sadly though I, the bride, ...
did not. My make up was very nice, but hair not so much. I have very long straight hair that doesn't hold the greatest curl, and did choose a style that was more simple, just down with curls, but was impressed during my trail when the curls actually held for hours with the amount of product that Amy, the owner, put in my hair. Unfortunately on the day of my wedding, they started extra early because they had another wedding to get to, which I was unaware of. She did not end up putting nearly as much product, honestly gave it a little spray and that's it. I've had my hair done very similar, so many times in my life, and had much better results. I was not going to even write a review, but looking back at pictures now, my hair is completely straight before even making it to the church. It was a lot of money to pay for hair I could've done better myself. I still recommend booking them, and think they overall did a great job, but just wanted to advise others about making sure your hair was similar to the trail hair. I am still giving them a 4 star review, because overall they do deserve it. Every bride should look back on the most important day of their life and love the way they looked, and I sadly can't say that I do.
If you want amazing hair for your wedding day look no further!!!! I have been dealing with the salon for the last 2 years and have nothing but great things to say! Amy and Skylar w...
ent above and beyond my expectations. They traveled to my location of where we were getting ready. They were prompt on time and scheduled the timing for each girl's hair exactly. Each of my bridesmaids were blown away with their hair, done to perfection. Myself as a hairdresser, I am very picky when it comes to certain things. I trust them completely with my hair and it was done exactly how I dreamt it should look! The girls did an amazing job and I recommend to everyone getting married. .
I had my hair and make-up done at Imana for my daughter's wedding. Amy and Skylar were spectacular, making sure I looked beautiful and very natural because I usually keep my hair s...

deal of make-up. Their work was outstanding and their style advice was priceless. I was treated very well as they fussed over me. Everyone their made sure I was comfortable, and they made sure I stayed calm in all the excitement. I got tons of comments from both family and friends about how beautifully both my hair and make-up were. I am VERY glad we used Imana and would recommend them highly.
I have been with Imana for years for my haircuts, and trusted no one but them for the most important day of my life. My hair (done by Amy) and my make up (done by Skylar) looked am...
azing. It lasted the whole day and night. My maid of honor and mom both got their hair and make up done there as well, and looked fantastic. We all received so many compliments. Everyone there did a great job of keeping us calm too! Of all the choices we had to make for the wedding, and all the things that stressed me out, choosing Imana was a no-brainer. I'm so glad we went with them! LOVED IT!!!!
I had Skylar and Amanda from Imana Studio come to my house the day of my wedding. Each bridesmaid of mine had their own visions for their hairstyles and Amanda and Skylar brought t...
hem all to life! Every bridesmaid was thrilled with their hair! As for me, I completely changed my hairstyle from the trial and Skylar nailed it. Not only was my hair exactly what I had invisuoned, but it also DID NOT MOVE the entire night. My hair looked exactly the same at midnight as it did when she first finished my look. Now that says a lot! Outside of their talent, both Skylar and Amanda were so wonderful to work with. They were both genuinely excited to be a part of my wedding day. Thank you Imana Hair Studio for doing such a beautiful job!
I used Imana Hair Studio for my wedding which was this past weekend, 9/4/16. They are seriously amazing and I couldn't have made a better choice by choosing them. Amy and Skylar ...
did an AMAZING JOB on everyone's hair. They are both truly so talented and professional as well. Skylar specifically did my hair (I was the bride) and she made me feel so beautiful that day! Don't look any further, you won't be disappointed. I would HIGHLY recommended them! :-)
Imana Hair Studio was absolutely incredible!!!

my did an absolutely amazing up do that I truly loved and it lasted all night! Skyler did my make up and knew just how to create the look I wanted! Both ladies are true artists at what they do and you can totally tell that they love and take pride in what they do! Thank you guys!
As the mother of the bride I had a lot of questions and concerns. The ladies at Imana were very helpful before the wedding. They listened to my concerns and addressed each one to...
put my mind a ease. The day of the wedding they did a beautiful job on a large wedding party and I could not have been happier.
I had such a great experience with Imana Studio on my wedding day. They traveled to the bridal suite at the venue and spent the day taking care of my bridal party of 9 and I. All...
of my bridesmaids loved how they did their hair and makeup. I also loved my hair and received many compliments on it throughout the night. I really loved my makeup as well. They did exactly what I asked. Imana Studio is personable, knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend them for any event.
I have always loved Imana. I have been receiving a hair cut on color from Imana for about 5 years, I trust their knowledge and opinion about my hair. They have done up dos for prev...
ious weddings, which I loved. I knew without a doubt I wanted them there on my wedding day. My hair trial was a breeze I showed them my ideas and they did my hair and I loved it the 1st time! They suggested highlights to give my up do more dimension, I was very hesitant about this but they reminded me if I did not like it they would fix it! I ended up loving it! My bridal party and I enjoyed our Conversations and day with Imana, they are amazing at what they do, they are hard workers, flexible and really do make you feel beautiful!
I booked my hair trial in September because I didn't want to be left without a stylist I liked. I booked with Skyler and during the hair trial, we talked and she knew exactly what...
I had wanted without even showing her a photo. The day of, her and Amy were great. There were only four of us getting our hair done so it didn't take that long. Skylar is now my hair stylist because I trust her. I made an appointment with her a week before the wedding to cut all the ends and freshen up my hair and to also add highlights. Again, she knew the color I had wanted just by describing the look I was going for. I trust her and even though Nutley is a little bit of a drive for me, I will do it in order to have someone I trust color and style my hair.
Imana was really great for my October 2013 wedding! Skylar did my hair and makeup and I loved it! They were great with my girls hair and makeup too! Love them!
I can say with confidence that Imana was absolutely fabulous!! I found Imana after my THIRD hair trial and cannot tell you how many compliments I received on my half-up do for my w...
edding! Amy completely understood the look and feel I was going for on my big day. I also had 12 other women get their hair done and each person looked stunning. Not to mention that everyone's hair stayed ALL day and night long. The team was led by Amy, who was extremely accommodating, friendly and professional. I cannot thank Imana enough for exceding my expectations and helping to make my wedding day absolutely perfect!!
I have EXTREMELY thick, hair and Skylar and Sam R. were able to tame my hair and all of my bridesmaids for my wedding. Their work was gorgeous and they were able to meet our every...
need. I originally went to Skylar with a bunch of pictures and said, "I want a combination of all of this" and she was able to do it. I couldn't not have been happier with my hair. On our wedding day Skylar and Sam traveled to us to get ready in the hotel without a probelm and in fact, they helped us enjoy our morning with a lot of laughs.
All of our makeup also came out perfect. I honestly couldn't believe how great it looked and even though it was about 90 degrees on our wedding day, the airbrush make up didn't budge alllllll day through sweat and tears!
I would HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone that wants to look their absolute best on their wedding day.
From the moment I met Amy I knew I could trust her with my hair! I’ve been going to Imana Hair Studio since 2010 when Amy did my hair for a friend’s wedding. It can be scary at ti...
mes going to someone new especially on someone else’s big day but Amy and the girls made me feel comfortable and did a great job. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Amy and have been a customer ever since. This November was my “Big Day” and I couldn't have been happier with the way things turned out. Amy and the girls arrived on time and ready to tackle 15 hair do’s… EVERYONE was happy with the results and looked amazing! If you are looking for a trendy, professional, friendly salon where you feel welcomed from the minute you walk in the door or just a hairstylist on your Wedding Day definitely consider Amy and the girls at Imana Hair Studio (Nutley, NJ) !!
Imana Hair Studio did a fantastic job on my hair and makeup on my wedding day in August. They also did a fantastic job on my bridesmaids and my mom's hair and makeup. Amy did my ha...
ir and it came out exactly how I pictured it is my head, even better. Skyler did an awesome job on my makeup, it was just prefect. The makeup stayed on all night, I barely had to go touch it up. They were all so nice and friendly, I felt very comfortable with them. And just the fact that they came to my house made everything go a lot smoother that morning. I would definitely recommend Imana for your wedding day!

Amy and her staff did a fabulous job on my wedding day 6/8/12!! I've followed Amy to three different salons over the past 10 years, and I was thrilled to find out Imana Hair Studio...
could come to me on my wedding day. I felt comfortable with Amy and confident in her ability to achieve the look I was going for. They came all the way up to West Milford, NJ and were right on time at 7:30 am. We set up a mini salon in my parent's basement complete with music + mimosas! The girls listened to what we had to say and created unique updo hairstyles on myself, all NINE of my bridesmaids + a perfect blow out for my mom. It was a very relaxed environment, and I truly believe the perfect morning set the tone for the entire day. I would 100% recommend Imana Hair Studio for soon-to-be brides + bridesmaids! THanks again ladies.
Amy and her team are honestly the best in the business. I have the world's thickest hair - and I'm really not being dramatic! Its AWFUL, thick, heavy and long. Nothing I do on a no...
rmal basis makes me feel good about my hair ever -- and the few times I've tried to have my hair done for special events, its been disastrous and I end up looking like a 4 year old in a beauty pageant.
Amy not only manage to not make me look like Shirely Temple after her finger got stuck in a socket, but actually made me feel beautiful. I got so many compliments all day long and when my coworkers saw the photos - they beseeched me to wear my hair like that everyday (to which I laughed since it took 2 girls well over an hour to implement it!).
But even more importantly, everyone had a blast hanging out with Amy and Christylee the morning of the wedding - including my photographer and videographer! We were laughing the whole time. It helps to have vendors who make you feel happy and at ease - it SHOULD feel like a party and Amy's team definitely helped set that mood.
Also - they didn't just do a great job for me - they knocked it out of the park with both mothers and the 3 bridesmaids hair as well. Everyone looked stunning.
As further testament to how much we love them, my mom and I are now exclusively using Amy to cut our hair and she's working wonders for both of us.
I've been going to Amy over the past 10 years and always walked out with the perfect hair. There was no doubt about it that I would use Amy and her staff for hair and make-up for ...
my Wedding Day on 9/2/12. I knew that I could put all my trust in her which helped me to be stress free. Amy and her staff even traveled to the Philadelphia area and was not a minute late. My hair was waist length and she styled it with beautiful long curls with one side up. Even through the humidity, my hair held up and looked great the entire day. All of the bridesmaid's hair and make-up was done exactly how we envisioned it to be. I highly recommend Imana Hair Studio (Nutley, NJ) if you are looking for perfection.

ved promptly and began to work...they were able to do 5 bridesmaid up-dos, my up-do, and then make up for my mother, maid of honor, and myself. They worked quietly but quickly while we all enjoyed a relaxing morning before the wedding! I loved my make-up. All of the girls loved their hair. They even made my mom (who never wears make-up) feel comfortable and beautiful! Thanks for making our day great!
I had been planning my wedding for over a year, had a hair dresser lined up and thought that everything was all set. With just 2 months to go, my hair dresser canceled. Thankfull...
y, I found Imana through Wedding Wire reviews and even more importantly, they were still available. From the first conversation, I experienced nothing other than professionalism. My trial was great. On my actual wedding day, Amy came to do my hair very early. They were super punctual, professional and just had the best attitude. They made me and my bridal party (including moms) look absolutely fantastic. I couldn't be happier!! I'll be switching to Imana for all my hair services. Thanks again Amy!!
Absolutely love Imana Hair Studio. From the moment I walked in for my trial I knew I was going to book them for my wedding. Amy (salon owner) is fantastic. She is a true profess...
ional. When it comes to hair, it is obvious she is a perfectionist and wants it to be just right. She listened to me and even gave me suggestions on what to do in order to make my long, thick hair stay curled for my wedding day. She made me feel so at ease on my wedding day and actually made me relaxed as I got ready for the ceremony. Christy Lee is one of the best makeup artists in the area. I was complimented non-stop on my wedding day makeup. I was so unhappy with other makeup artists and was tired of leaving the trials looking so unnatural. Christy Lee actually listened to me and gave me the exact look I wanted. I am so happy with Imana Hair Studio and I will definitely be using them in the future. Perfect for Wedding Hair/Makeup.
I booked Imana for my hair and makeup trials and day-of services for my March 25th wedding and I was so happy with the results. Skylar is amazing and really gave me a fresh and hip...
yet classy and timeless look for my big day! I was very pleased with the airbrush makeup application which lasted through the night and the hair amazingly stayed put the whole night as well! And I danced like crazy!! I was concerned about hair because for my sweet 15, my hair looked so poofy and horrible that I still refuse to look at those pictures, regretfully. So I really wanted to make sure for my wedding day, that wouldn't happen again and Skylar went above and beyond to make it perfect!! It was sleek, shiny and perfect all day and all night!
Absolutely the most professional, wonderful, talented hair stylists in the entire state. I loved Amy's sophisticated and thoughtful guidance through the whole process. She listen...
s and offers advice to make you look better and more polished on your special day. Most important was that the hair styles she did for everyone in the bridal party, both mothers, bride and bridal part, held up the entire evening without feeling contrived. I highly recommend this fabulous salon!
I found Imana on the knot website when I was looking for hair and make up artists for my wedding. I absolutely love them! I first went to them for a trial, then I found myself back...
there for a hair cut, hair highlights, spray tan, and eyelash extensions. These girls are great at what they do and they are extremely professional! I would recommend them to ANYONE! - The morning of my wedding was flawless, Imana had a team of 4 girls that managed to tackle hair and make up for 10 bridesmaids, myself, my mom and the grooms mom. Everyone looked stunning! Everyone was happy and we were on time for the photographer! They seriously couldn't have done a better job! So happy I treated myself to the spray tan and the eyelashes (its been 25 days and the eyelashes are still on!) Its a great one stop and you will feel absolutely fabulous when they are done with you!!! :)

t always does, and so did my makeup, my moms hair (who is also a client of Amys for years) and my bridesmaids. 7 months before my wedding I found out I was pregnant...so on my wedding day I was 8 months pregnant and EXHAUSTED...Amy and her staff gave me the royal treatment to help me relax and look and feel like every bride should! If you are looking for the best....look no further...book with Imana!!

e in time for our early afternoon ceremony. I positively loved my hair and received many compliments on it, particularly from my husband. I highly recommend Amy and Imana Hair Studio.
I had my hair done for my wedding back in August at Imana Hair Studio. I had a big bridal party and the girls also had their hair done. Amy did my hair and I absolutely loved it!...
!! She listened to everything I said and nailed the style that I wanted. All my bridemaids complimented their stylists on their hair and makeup. I would definitely recommend this salon to any new bride!! They were on time, professional, and extremely talented!
Amy and her staff at Imana hair did such an amazing job for my bridal up do!!! Amy has done my hair for other weddings as well, and simply put-IS THE BEST!!! She is super creative ...
and whatever your style, Amy will always accomodate you!!! Thanks Imana!!!
I wanted to write a review for Imana, who did the hair and makeup for our wedding at Nanina's in the Park. We went to the salon (though they also go on site), which was very close ...
to the hotel, and it was a stress-free and fun experience. We didn't want the hassle of a chaotic hotel room, but wanted all the girls to have a fun morning together of hair and makeup. The staff was extremely professional, we did well on time, and everyone came out looking beautiful. They even arranged for a light breakfast so it was one less thing to coordinate. It really added to the special day to have everyone together and able to get excited together, take pictures, and start the memories! Such a beautiful job!!!
