Buyer BEWARE. We selected Imprint Cinema after seeing some of their work for a friend's wedding. There style was modern, but classic, and seemed to be everything we wanted. We met with them, asked lots of questions and asked for references. ... We were given the list of some references and advised that in the past they had had trouble meeting deadlines but they ASSURED us (emphatically) that they had made systemic changes to their scheduling so as to avoid this in the future. They advised that they had reduced the number of weddings they worked per month and assured us that there would be no trouble. We truly liked both Alex and Samm and trusted their explanation-- even though their prices were higher than others; we simply loved their work and foolishly trusted their side of the story. BOY WERE WE WRONG.
First (and this one is our fault), the contract provided for up to 12 months to deliver the videos (way more than the 6-8 weeks of most videographers)-- my now-husband and I simply missed it in the contract and didn't realize how unusual that was. Then, during the wedding prep, we had a bit of difficulty coordinating for the "interviews" that they insisted were important to the video making process (but, we excused it; after all we were crazy busy planning the wedding ourselves). They were great on the day of the wedding.. and then we waited... and waited.. and waited.
Our first month of marriage came and went, our photos were delivered early (after just 4 weeks!) and we kept waiting and waiting... We reviewed the contract and realized that they had 12 months to deliver. We were busy and decided to be patient... after 4 months, I pinged them asking for an update. No response. I waited 2 more weeks and emailed again. Then, I sent a facebook message-- they finally responded and gave us a very non-committal time frame for delivery of the video. I waited another 3 months (now around 8 months after the wedding) and asked for another update. They advised that they were shutting down the business, but would be working on my video soon. (!!!) We were nervous to rush them, after all we still wanted a video of the quality we'd seen from their previous work, but we were obviously anxious to get our video.
I waited another month-- asked for an update on the timeline. No response. I waited another week, asked for an update-- no response. Waited two more weeks, asked for another update and expressed my grave concerns with their lack of response-- finally a response. Now, they assured me that the video was almost done-- just had to order our cases! (Allegedly.) Another month passed-- we were now nearly 11 months after our wedding date. I emailed asking for an update and was advised our cases were destroyed- oh no! (Yah, right.) Finally, almost exactly 11 months after our wedding-- we received our video.
Now for the only reason I didn't give them a 1 star review- - We were extremely pleased with the video. It was exactly what we'd hoped for, but I would be very VERY careful before hiring Imprint for your own wedding. If you're okay with waiting a year for your wedding video (and I'm genuinely concerned whether it would have come in that timeline without my increasing questions and requests for updates), then by all means go ahead.
